I don't know how you can justify posts telling people to use two manufacturer coupons. The Walgreens back to school coupon says Manufacturer coupon on it. Even if the numbers on the coupon make it look like a Walgreens coupon you have no way of knowing Walgreens doesn't have a deal in place with Walgreens.

Nabisco Chips Ahoy (select varieties) on sale 2/$5 is for sure a month long deal? It's just not posted @ my Wags so I wasn't sure I could still get 2/5

Wow all I can say is don't let the haters bring you down

Anon-

3 of our local Walgreens ACCEPT the Wags Coupons as a STORE coupon. That means, yes they do take it with a manufactor coupon. The coupon says manufactor on the back, but only to be USED at Wags. All 3 of our Walgreens have said they will take them along with manufactors, for the simple fact its like a 'store' coupon.....because it can ONLY be redeemed at Wags.

So there is nothing to really Justify. Unfortunately, every Walgreens is differ. Same with every other store.

If YOU dont want to use this coupon, then dont.

i love the collage pictures!!!

I meant to write we have no way of knowing Walgreens doesn't have a deal in place with Huggies.

Abby, I am not a hater at all. I love this blog, it has been invaluable to my family and I am so thankful for it. I was just surprised to see a post encouraging people to use two manufacturer coupons on one item. It just seems really wrong to me. As my husband said, even if we can get away with it, is it right?

If you still have a $3 off colgate toothbrush and toothpaste from coupons.com you can use that at Walgreens today only on colgate max fresh or white toothbrush and toothpaste which is 2 for $5 with $1 RR. When combined you only pay a $1 for both.

If the store accepts them, whats the problem? As I said, our 3 local Walgreens accepted them & stated they knew they were manufactor but because only redeemed at walgreens it was the same as a STORE coupon.

I dont think Hip2save was ENCOURAGING people. She posts deals and my walgreens accepts them. If you think its so wrong, dont do it. move on.

Tina said...

Anon,
I don't think they are manufacturer coupons. When I bought 5 boxes of wipes it deducted $10 automatically. No manufacturer coupon can do that. In terms to deduct $10 I would had to use 5 coupons.

Collin,
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this great deals!

The Carmex coupon is gone :( Wish I would have printed it when it was posted the first time!

Our Target has Chips Ahoy on sale for $2.50 a package.

I agree with anonymous on the coupons, especially if you're already getting a BOGO. How can you use two manufacturer coupons when one of the items is already free?

jenn said...

Anon,
because you are using the second coupon on the product you are going to buy.

Anonymous said...

Chips Ahoy are 2 for $9 at my store in Texas

jenn said...

Anon,
Wags do get paid directly by Huggies or any other company when using any in-store coupons.
The difference is that we don't give Wags the "paper" coupon.

I had the strangest experience at WG's yesterday. I was waiting in line and the cashier called the manager (who had been following my mother and I all around the store) up to the cash register. He then took each of the coupons and studied them very intently. It was sort of comical since he was almost cross eyed. They took all of my coupons in the end but I felt like I had broken the law or something. I asked the cashier if she had called him up there because I had coupons and she stuttered and stammered and said no. Well that is not what it seemed like. I ,once again, hate Walgreen's. At that same WG's my mom had been there putting things in a cart and while she was shopping an associate came up to her and said "If you think you are getting that for free you are wrong" it was was the Aveeno lotion deal with the free travel kit that Collin had posted about. Anyway, I did the same thing at another WG's. What is wrong with them?

Michelle M: I think Wags is trying to put themselves out of business. I had the same problem the other day and its always at one particular store. One cashier thought I was buying too much Skippy PB and kept flipping back and forth through the ad. I was actually just buying the minimum needed to get the RR. At the same store (diff. day), the RR wouldn't print for the SoftSoap Nutriserum. The manager insisted it was because I used a coupon and said "here, I'll prove it to you!" Imagine his surprise when it didn't work for him either. I don't understand why the staff can't be trained to know how their own deals\registers work and how coupons work. You'd think we couponers were taking it out of their paycheck! Sorry for the rant...

Wow! Do you two live in Iowa? Same thing happened to me. I will have to say it worked itself out in the end. I was followed through the store; I could see them talking about me and then quickly turning their head when I walked by. When I got up to the cash register the guy behind the counter was 'all of a sudden needed elsewhere'. Then one of the girls that were talking to the manager stepped up to check me out. She looked over every coupon, but in the end they used all of them. The next time I was in the girl had to check me out again. This time I was not happy. I asked her if she thought I was stealing. She just looked shocked. I then stopped her in the middle of transaction and asked her to call up the manager. After talking to him he was so ashamed of his store. He kept apologizing and saying that he would speak to all cashiers and the manager from the day before. Now when I go in, everyone is VERY nice. I never have ANY issues. That second manager still talks to me every time I am in. He always asks if he can help me find any of my good deals!! :-)

Rimmel mascara is on sale for $2.09. You can use the $2 off mascara coupon from redplum.com to get it for $.09.

Just when I thought I had this finally figured this out I guess I had not. This am I purchsed 2 Folgers and 2 Raisin Bran. That equals 4 items I had 2-.25 folger coupons and 1-1.50 on the raisin bran. i wanted to pay with 5.00 rr. I thought that was equal to 4 coupons so i had no filler. The register beeped at the rr and i had to add a filler and it worked. The cashier was very kind and she thought that even though there was only 1 coupon for the raisin bran that the register counted it as 2??? The two register rewards 1-$1 and 1-$2 did print and all was well but i did not know that 1 coupon off two things equaled 2 coupons to the register. I hope this makes sense.

I found $2/2 on the rice krispie treats that can be used for R.K. or nutri grain bars to make this deal even sweeter

i remember a goody ouchless coupon, but not sure where i got it from. Anyone remember this?

Anonymous said...

The goody ouchless coupons were on coupons.com last month, but not anymore. Mine must have expired because they aren't in my organizer any more.

Trish said...

I would like to say that I am tired of feeling like I am doing something wrong or "stealing" when I use coupons. The Manufacturers and the Stores put these coupons out there. Do they think no one will use them??? I am also tired of, as someone else said here, the clerks acting like it is coming out of their paychecks!! Seriously people??

I love your blog and you have helped me save money and figure out how to afford to live on less. Thanks It's Hip to Save!!

LOL There must have been something in the air last night, because i had my worst coupon experience last night too. i've had no luck sometimes and left the store empty-handed, but this was ridiculous. My cashier slammed down every coupon with a conspicuous sigh as she ran them through. i didn't get there as the shifts ended and keep her captive at work. i'm also an ethical couponer and i don't try anything i don't think i'm not supposed to. But i do sometimes manage to find Coupon Nazis who would burn my coupons if they could. And maybe me with them for ruining their days with my coupons :) .

No I do not live in Iowa. I live in Wichita Ks and it was the WG's on 135th and Maple. I think I will call the corp. office. Hey, I did live in Iowa most of my life, however. Where in Iowa??

I just discovered this blog yesterday - what a great place! I tried my first deal tonight at Wags - the Oral B toothbrushes. The Q's say "limit 1 Q per purchase" so I couldn't use both and get them free. Still a pretty decent price though. I'm going back with my Rimmel coupon tomorrow and getting a free mascara!

Anonymous said...

The Oral B Indicator Manual toothbrushes are on sale 2 for $5 but are not included in the Buy 4, get $5RR deal. If you buy two or more of the Oral B Indicator Manual toothbrushes, you get back a $2 RR. So the deal would be: Buy 2 Oral B Indicator Manual toothbrushes for $2.50 each. Use BOGO coupon from 8/23 RP. Get back $2 RR. Like getting two toothbrushes for $0.50.

Publix has the Starbucks Ice-Cream BOGO for $3.79. Use the $1 coupon & get 2/$2.79= $1.40 each!

Got a coupon book at Safeway on the shampoo shelf,it has a $2coupon for Root Awakening, will work well with Wags buy one get one 50%off.

Anonymous said...

I was hoping to do the One-A-Day Multivitamin deal, buty they wouldn't let me use both a Walgreens coupon and a manufacturer coupon. The cashier said it was because of the fine print on the back that says "not valid with any other offer". I wish all Walgreens would be consistent in how they handle coupons. It gets too confusing when different stores have different policies!

Cottonelle Wipes 2 for $5 - - there is a rebate on this at Caregiver's Marketplace for $.50 on each one. The wording is Fresh Wipes vs Moist Wipes, but I would assume it's the same, both 42 count. If you are submitting for other products, you may as well add this receipt in. After rebate, wipes would be $.63 each.

The Chinet coupons are ONLY good on 36 or 72 count plates....NOT on this sale (10-15 count).

I love this blog if for nothing but the comments from readers sharing my frustrations!!! Some of the above comments made me smile in sympathy because I have "been there" so many times!!! I did want to mention a deal I didn't see posted, but it might be a repeat. There is an in ad coupon this week for the .99 J&J dental floss 55 yds. You can use the coupon from the inserts ( not sure which week -- sorry!) for $1 off Reach floss, then get the cashier to scan the WAGS coupon and get it for free. The package actually says Reach on it so it's the right one!
