It's still a great video! It's a bummer that you couldn't get your groceries because it looks like you would have scored some great deals, especially with that meat.

Lynne said...

I was on pins and needles waiting to see your cart full and the total! What a bummer to do all that work and not be able to check out! I cannot wait to see part 2! Take Care!

molly said...

I agree- still a great video- sorry about missing those deals- thats a bummer!

MalibuBeachBum said...

Sorry you ran into "technical difficulties" and couldn't finish. But that's okay! LOL! You still made another FANTASTIC video that is very informative (the Arnold bread info....who knew?!?!). LOL!

Looking forward to part II!

Thanks!!

Silly, Collin, of course we wouldn't think you'd make up the electrical problem excuse! Thanks for another fun episode!

You got some charisma, girl! :-)

You completely crack me up. As if you have to apologize for a FREE service that you do for us each week that didn't work out one time for something beyond your control. The way you talk so easily on camera we can tell you are such a genuine and fun person!

Shirley said...

I am SO sorry that you went thru all that work and then got "kicked out". By the time I get thru the check out I am often physically and mentally spent. How frustrating to almost have the job done and then to find out you'll have to start all over again. MAJOR bummer. I once had to leave a full cart and a bunch of great matched up Qs because one of my kiddos got sick. I think I may have been more upset about my cart. LOL!!!!
On, another note....I'm impressed with how low your prices are there but, in all fairness, I agree they should be for the sacrifices our military men and women make for our country.

Laura said...

my military ID (dependent) expires next month, but I think I am going to have to stop in since you showed some pretty amazing deals!

Do they take expired coupons??

Sharon said...

Oh no! I'm at work and can't watch the video til I get home tonight. What happened? LOL....

When do we get to meet the camera lady??? :)

I am so happy that you did the commissary!!! Thank you!! I hope mine has those Tyson coupons too because I need some meat!!!

:D Better luck next time, hopefully there won't be any issues.

Do you live in N.C. we had some bad wind damaged and outages too. I got some great tips anyway...

Sharyn said...

Is that the sweater you got from Victoria Secret??? Too cute!!!

Anonymous said...

@Laura

stateside commissaries do NOT take expired coupons, overseas commissaries take coupons for up to 6 months past expiration date.

Anonymous said...

I was in the Air Force several years ago and really, really loved the commissary's case lot sales! I miss them so much. I was a Captain in Lackland AFB when I separated. Good luck with your shopping and please keep up the good work.

Jayne said...

LOL - you are so funny - sorry you din't get your groceries!

Still an awesome video and very educational. What I love even more is your upbeat, roll with the punches attitude. Your site is awesome! Thank you SO much for all the hard work you do!!!!

Thanks for the tip on Arnold/Orowheat!!! I wondered about that last week as I was thinking of using a coupon. A few other companies do the same thing - Hellman's/Best Foods and Dreyers/Edy's ice cream.
Great job - love your blog! When can we meet "camera lady"?

Amy said...

Sorry you got the boot but loved the video! You do great on video!

Renay said...

that was super cute! It was the first one I have watched-but I loved it-even if the finale was TBC'd;-)

Anonymous said...

That sweater is cute. Thanks to you, I got in on that Victoria's Secret deal. The quality of the sweater is great...well worth full price, much less the bargain price we got. I can't wait to find out my rewards amount. Will let you know. Just wanted to tell you that you made a great deal cause that sweater is great on you.

Serena said...

You crack me up! you did a Great job on the Video and it wasnt pointless.. the info on the Arnold bread was Great! :) Sorry about not getting your Groceries! What a Small world you met one of your readers! Neat!! (I feel sorry for the workers who had to put all the groceries haha)

I was at the commissary yesterday and we had some of the same prices and deals so I know you weren't making it up. (not that I would ever think that anyway) My ID expires next month also as my husband got out of the air force 2 years ago and I seriously start to tear up everytime I think about how I'm losing my commissary priveledges. Grocery shopping will never be the same again. :(

Anonymous said...

I totally miss being able to shop at the commissary! My Hubby is active duty, but we are stationed at a Reserve base and there is no commissary :( and where we live living expenses are so expensive! But if it weren't for you, we wouldn't be able to afford much else! Thank you for all you do!

Jessica @ My Quarter Life Crisis said...

You are wearing your VS shirt! i got the same one!

Jaime said...

Ha! I totally thought you were going to have to cut it short because some MP's busted you for filming in the commissary or something... :)

Anonymous said...

bummer about the electricity! Can I just say that I love you! You inspire me each week to keep clipping those coupons! I also got the Alphabet Pal @ Target for .49 cents, my husband was amazed!!!! This made a great baby shower gift! I also pampered myself & bought a VS sweater for ME for Christmas & I'm keeping the lipgloss too! I never spluge like this so I'm very excited!

Theresa said...

Thanks for taking as along to the commissary. I also shop there and you pointed out some great finds. My fingers are crossed for the Tyson $1/1 fresh meat coupon. I'm going to look for the Jolly Time Coupon now. I really look forward to your videos on Monday. It is great to see you get excited over a great coupon like I do because none of my friends or family really gets the whole coupon thing. Thanks again!

Unknown said...

I feel your pain! That happened to me at Walmart - over an hour's worth of grocery shopping and before I could check out, they had a power outage and made everyone leave their carts where they were and get out of the store!!!

Anonymous said...

You are such a goober - love your personality!!!! Hope it works better next time - love your blog.

Anonymous said...

Glad you still posted the video - it showed the reality of how sometimes our grocery runs don't turn out as planned. Thanks for your blog - I check it probably 5x a day!!

Please don't apologize. There was nothing you could do about that! Thanks for all that you do for my family!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Follow me Mondays!!! Thanks for all the hard work you put into making the videos. I've noticed a lot of couponers buy microwave popcorn...witch is a little scary.

There is an article in the Nov. issue of Prevention (the Michelle Obama cover) that states the that the lining of microwave popcorn bags contain the chemical PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid) that vaporize when microwaved and migrates into your popcorn!!:(

They have done animal testing at UCLA and found these chemicals cause liver, testicular, and pancreatic cancer. And if that doesn't sound bad enough the chemicals stay in your body for years and accumulate.

"DuPont and other manufacturers have promised to phase out PFOA by 2015 under a voluntary EPA plan, but millions of bags of popcorn will be sold between then and now" p.82.

So I've stooped buing microwave popcorn and guess what? The kernals that you pop yourself on the stove are sooooooo much cheaper then any sale I've found. Even the organic kind!:) And there are plenty to how-to videos on the web on how to pop your own, but this is the cutest I came across..and really easy to follow. Hope that helps some Couponers out there!! :)

Oh my goodness, your video is so cute. It is so nice that you get the commissary to shop at!! I am so jealous.

This is a whole lot off topic but I'm in "investigation mode" right now. I have a seriously prehistoric printer that while it still works, it's realllllly slow...and eats ink like they're poptarts. I'd really like a combo printer/scanner/copier but more at the low-end of the price-range. I also would forgo the combo part for just a printer if someone happens to know of any great deals out there right now? Also, I'd like to point you all to a site called Woot.com. It's mostly electronic gadgets...but every day they feature a new item. I've purchased a few different mp3 players and some other random items for a whole lot less than what they normally cost. Check it out!

I'm the Deaf one that reads your blogs, this one really got me wondering what the summary is. I have just ingorned your other ones.

So can you add a summary on this one?

Thanks

Andrea said...

Hip, just wondering how long it takes you to grocery shop? This is my worst area of couponing because I don't have the time to scour the shelves for sale items to match up with coupons. I have my 2 girls with me (3 and 1) and they do not have the patience for that.

Coupon Pro said...

I love your math :)

Anonymous said...

So sad. No $1/1 Tyson coupons at my commissary. :(

Kristy said...

Awh, i had no idea you're military. The whole blog made me miss our old commisary in Jacksonville! our new one in Long Island is TINY - like 6 aisles and no deli or fresh breads and hardly an meats or produce! But great tips :)

Savings With Sadie said...

I am a first timer to your videos and have always loved your site. You are "too cute" - sorry you did not get your groceries since that is a lot of hard work.

You have a great personalty and I don't think you will find any disappointed folks here.

Keep up the videos.

Baker Tribe said...

You are so adorable, its not even funny! Like we'd think you lied about that! My dh thought that was so funny!
Anyway, on another note...I just received my shipment from BooksAMillion for the kids books...OMG..they are adorable books!! I went ahead and gave my DD the Thanksgiving books and she took them to bed for her nap!
I just wanted to say...thank you for bringing so many great deals to us! You could have chose to leave that one out...but it was so adorable and perfect!
So....long story short...THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU POST!!

I Heart Coupon Deals said...

There is NO WAY to find these types of deals at any of my local stores here in So Cal. You know things never go as planned great video btw!

Anonymous said...

I also save all my expired coupons for military use - but does anyone know where we can send them? I believe the Post Office requires a name to send them?

Anonymous said...

You're still awesome!!!! Thanks!!

Anonymous said...

Ok, so I am 12 weeks preg, and your story made me laugh and cry at the same time. I have had the same type of day. I had my Dr apt. today, but the Dr was 1 hour and 15 minutes late, so by that time the other four kids where wild and the little one was ready for a nap, so I couldn't force myself or them to go to the stores. Maybe we will try again tomorrow. Just to show as much as we plan you can never tell what will really happen.

cjs said...

Awe - that is such a bummer for you. Amazed that you are still so happy and cheery after having to evacuate. At least you are safe :) My MIL can shop at the Commissary near us, so I may go with her one time to see if I can check out the deals. The big tip that I think I got out of your trip is that the Commissary still gives you the full coupon value even if the item is less than the face value of the coupon...sweet!

Anonymous said...

I just got my package from VS today...I have the samw sweater as you only in orange!

Anonymous said...

I am laughing so hard. You really thought we would think you were lying? You are nuts! Hahaha! What a disappointment to do all that work and then have to leave it. Hope it wasn't too serious of an issue. Better luck next time!

Margaret said...

Where do you get all those coupons?

You talk a little to fast, please slow down!!!

Take pointers from Melissa d'Arabian. She had to slow down and when she did she won
"The Next Food Network Star" contest!!!!

I SOOO look forward to your Follow Me Monday videos.... you are such a fun sweet gal - love watching you snag the deals & share the knowledge!! Thank a million for all you do!

Thanks for taking us to the Commissary Collin. I get really frustrated shopping there with long lines and overcrowded aisles. Your video has reminded me of the great deals and privelage it is for our families. THANKS!!!

You are too funny. I love your videos and great advice.

Anonymous said...

You have so many coupons that I don't have.

Anonymous said...

This is my first time watching a video...I saw you pair a b1g1 coupon with a coupon for a discount on the same purchase..I was told at Kroger that you couldn't pair a coupon with a b1g1 coupon because it (b1g1) was applying to 2 items and you couldn't use 2 coupons on one item and that it was fraud to do so??? Whats up with this? I have always seemed to do so, but don't want to get into trouble or any of the cashiers to get in trouble for accepting it if they aren't suppose to..? Any facts behind this? Thanks.

Anonymous said...

anon: Rule-one Manufactures coupon per item! if you are getting 2 bags of veggie meals you CAN use a 1.50/1 coupon and a buy one get one free! see 2 coupons 2 items

I loved the video. It made me think twice about shopping at the commissary. I usually don't but now i will and take the time to look at the sales. Also, you mentioned your "Binder". how do you set it up?

Jenn said...

For a second I thought maybe the store rigged a power outage just so you couldn't "get away" with all your great deals! Still a great video. I too would love to see your camera gal.

On a hilarious side note, you remember the Oprah 50% text coupon for payless shoes? Well I was able to snag a few pairs for the kids, slippers, PLUS two pairs for me. Same style, different colors. Well I dressed in semi darkness last friday and ended up wearing one of each (one brown, one black) to work. HILARIOUS and embarrassing.

Thanks for all you do

~Jenn

Where I shop you can only use one manifacture coupon per item, and you had buy one get one free and then 150 off? Also you can't make money on coupons, the register will change the price to match the item, if the coupon is more.

you are so funny!! cant wait till next week. I love your site!! You do such a great job. I am new to couponing so I have a lot to learn!

That was a great video thanks so much for posting this. I love love love going to the commissary When I do go, I stock up specially on meats.
Wondering if anyone has heard about this,
a friend of mine that is stationed over in the U.K said the AFRC ( Air Force Readiness Center) has TONS of coupons. They have bags and bags of coupons they give out to families to use. She mentioned that she thought the bases over here also did the same. I have to get my husband to stop by the center on his lunch break and see if this
is true. I would imagine that the other branches have something like this on their bases, just not sure if it would be called the same (readiness centers?). Does anyone know about this? I will post something on here once I find out either way. Thanks!
