My Walgreens Freebies for 3/29: Softsoap & Edge

As you all may know, we've just moved, so I really haven't had much time for "deal" shopping... but oh how I miss it!:) Today I managed to take 30 minutes for a quick Walgreens run. I didn't have many coupons with me and decided to keep it simple. I ended up snagging 3 bottles of Edge Energy Shaving Gel priced at $2.99 each and 4 bottles of Spa Radiant Softsoap priced at $3.99 each. I did 4 transactions and used a $1 coupon from All You for the first Softsoap purchased. Total spent (on a Walgreens gift card) $11.96 + tax... but I have $9 in Register Rewards from the Edge and one free Softsoap coupon left valued at $3.99!

Thank you for this!!!!!! yay, good job on your 30 min effort, wow!

Question: how did you break down the 4 transactions? I'm not sure what you can buy together and what needs to be separate (i.e. the shaving creams? the bodywash?). I get so confused (and nervous of messing up) and you make it seem so effortless!!!
Thank you as always,
Karla

Karla,

I totally understand and probably should have explained my transactions in more detail!

Here is what I did:

Transaction #1:

Total=$6.98
Use $1 Softsoap coupon
Payed $5.98 + tax

Transaction #2
Softsoap $3.99
Edge $2.99
Total=$6.98
Used FREE Softsoap coupon I earned from above
Payed $2.99 + Tax

Transaction #3
Softsoap $3.99
Edge $2.99
Total=$6.98
Used FREE Softsoap coupon I earned from above
Payed $2.99 + Tax

Transaction #4
Softsoap $3.99
Used FREE Softsoap coupon I earned from above
Pay $0 + a few cents for tax

Now I still have one free coupon left, plus 3 $3 RR's to use later this week!:)

Hey Karla,
I'm still a novice myself, but I went shopping today and got 3 softsoaps, 4 chapsticks and 3 Edge shave gels, plus some other stuff. I kept rolling the RRs from the chapstick and the Edge back and forth.
If you want to see what I did, you are welcome to check out my blog at www.SaveGreenLiveGreen.blogspot.com
This is a fun week! I hope they don't "fix" the Softsoap anytime soon.

I noticed the Easy Saver Coupon booklet expired yesterday...do they ever make exceptions, or is there a new one out??

Thank you so much for taking time to keep your blog up. I check it several times a day --- it is my favorite couponing blog. I'm new but I'm getting LOTS and LOTS of great deals, so thank you!!

Alisa,

No, I'm 99% sure they will not make exceptions with letting you use expired EasySaver coupons. However, there is a new April booklet available now.

Hello ,Love your blog.
Do you just check out first
transaction then go ahead and do second transaction at a same store?
or go to another Wal-green for second and 3rd ...?
I 'm not sure my Wal-green would let me do these over and over transactions.

Tommy,

If you feel uncomfortable doing more then one transaction in one store, then you may want to hit up a few Walgreens. I have an awesome coupon friendly cosmetics cashier, so I'm able to do a few transactions in the same store.

Thank you for the breakdown on your transaction. Unfortunately, I got there this morning all excited about trying it out and the Softsoap deal has been fixed, so no rolling coupons!!!! Thank you for your help anyways, your talent and willingness to help others is a gift from God :o)

working, I'm going to hit the road
