My Irish Springs did not roll! Also be aware that you have to buy the first one! So although a good deal if it rolls, its really only B1G1 if it doesnt.

I am new to coupon clipping and have been following your site for a few weeks - I need help....I have a manufacturers coupon for Sambucol ($4 off) and Walgreens is running $10 off in easysaver...the product is $10 at Walgreens. My thought was I could use them both (because it does not say anywhere that you cannot) and have a $4 overage to use towards my other products....the cashier said NO. Is this something I should have asked the manager about - just when I think I have coupons and walgreens figured out....I get the evil cashier!!!! Thanks

I have noticed that a lot of locations in Utah are starting to price modify coupons. Places that just last week were giving overage and not scrutinizing coupons. I purchased the Sambucol yesterday though it was marked 12.99 at my store. She took the 10 dollar easy saver coupon and then price modified the 4 dollar coupon to 2.99. : (

My Dry Idea did not give me a $2 RR. I bought two separate ones.

They have "fixed" the Irish Spring

Some cashiers are just really NOT coupon friendly! You may just want to try a different Walgreens or go back to the same store at a different time of day. I've found that the cosmetics cashiers always seem to be more coupon friendly.

Also whenever I purchase products that create overage I always make sure to purchase other "filler" items.

Heather,

The Dry Idea $2 Register Reward should have printed for both of the ones you purchased. I would call catalina (1-888-8coupon) with your receipt in hand. They should be able to mail you both Register Rewards.

Just got back from Walgreens where I had the same issue as Heather. I bought 2 dry idea in 2 separate transactions and got 0 RR’s. I asked the manager about it. I took him to the rack and showed him the tag clearly stating that I should have gotten $2 for each of them. He looked at my receipt, looked at the ad and said “it’s because you used a coupon. Since you used a coupon it won’t print the rewards.” I disputed this and told him that I had done the Huggies deal using manufacturer coupons and got RR’s. He got snippy with me and told me there was nothing he could do. He then proceeded to file receipts and since I still stood there, looking at him, EXPECTING him, THE MANAGER to make this right, he said again “there’s nothing I can do except refund your money.”
UGH! Hopefully I’ll get some resolution from calling catalina!

Sarah,

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm so sick of Walgreens always giving the lame excuse that the RR didn't print because we used coupons. We all know that is FAR from the truth.

Anyway let me know what Catalina says after you call them, if you get a chance. Thanks!

Thanks for the coupon on the joint juice- my wags had them for buy one get one free so I got two for free! Maybe they're trying to clear out the tropical fruit flavor?

Catalina called me back this afternoon (the customer service rep could NOT have been NICER! He was awesome! Wish he was the Walgreens store manager) and said that he would research my transaction. He did tell me that they can't research it on the same day the transaction is made and advised me in the future to wait until the next day to call. Since he couldn't research it today and there are 14 people in front of me needing research he said it would be the first of next week before it would be completed. He said if I qualified for the Register Rewards he would have Walgreens send them but did advise that it usually takes them 6-8 weeks to fulfill the request. If I don't qualify, he'll call and let me know. I told him what the manager said about not being able to use a coupon AND get catalina's and he said "that's not true but I think a lot of stores say that to just get the customer out of there and not have to listen to them. The only time a catalina shouldn't print is if you try to use a catalina from that same manufacturer to pay for your current purchase."
We'll see what happens!

According to another website, Dry Idea coupon has the same code as the CAtalina RR print out--so in this case, the register can't distinguish between an RR and a coupon.

That said, I would anticipate you could use your dry idea coupon as a $2 RR..............not sure that's right, but in theory it would work?

Hip2Save said...

Hmmm... interesting find! Thanks for letting us know!

I read on another blog (can't remember which one) that you won't get the $2RR back on the Dri Idea if you use the $2 coupon because it has the same UPC code as the deal so the register thinks coupon is the RR.

I also talked with Catalina. The interesting tidbit the woman gave me, was that coupons that end in the #s -99282 will prevent a RR from printing. The manufacturer contracted with Catalina to have this stopgap in place.

Got a call back from Catalina today, they are sending me 2 $2 RR!

YAY! I'm so glad to hear that. Thanks for letting me know!:)

I found the roll-on for $2.59 purchased it & used the $2 printable coupon. I also had a can of chicken broth (69 cents) It did not print a RR.

I had a 2nd transaction with more items...I had picked up a Dry Idea as shown in the ad. It was on clearance for $1.79 and I tried using the $2 coupon (it went through). After transaction was completed...no RR for Dry Idea. She let me speak with a manager.

I showed him the ad & my receipt...he said it didn't print because I didn't pay the $2.99 sale price. Tomorrow, I'll call Catalina & see what they say. Maybe they will mail me the 1 I ended up keeping.

I kept the $1.79 one...as it was already free with the $2 coupon. The one that was $2.59 I returned...he gave me the $2.59 plus sales tax. I receive the coupon value back...so, I wasn't going to complain, if I hadn't then I would have asked for my 2nd coupon back/since I hadn't of purchased/kept that 1.

This store also would not let me keep my Wal. coloring book coupon. I commented you let me keep the in-ad coupon & the Easy Saver coupon (all still attached to the ad/or book). She explained that 1 was needed for the drawer/coupon count later. To me it seemed the same as the other Walgreen coupons but some how it must be different (maybe because I paid for the coloring book).

Same thing happened to me as Heather. They would not give me the $2 RR for the Dry Idea because I used the $2 coupon. I'll call Catalina in the morning and see what they say. My Walgreens said people were comitting "coupon fraud" and paying $0 for merchandise. I don't see how it is fraud if they allow mfr coupons along with store coupons.

I called this morning and they are going to mail the $2 RR. It will take 6-8 weeks though.

How long is the Dry Idea and Irish Spring deal on for? Is it over now?
