I have a question on the RR for the quaker stuff this week - I went in there yesterday with coupons for quaker bars - I first bought 2 boxes and got a $2 RR back - then I bought the second 2 boxes and used the $2 from the first tranasaction, and it didn't print out another RR for the 2nd set of boxes! I asked about it and she said if you even pay with a RR, than the you won't receive a new RR on the item(s) your buying.... manager came over and verified - that stinks!

Helen said...

Actually, if you are buying just a shave gel to use the $2 RR, you DON'T need a filler.

Otherwise, you are correct about fillers.

Helen said...

@Sabrina: You cannot use the Quaker RR and get a Quaker RR. You could use a Chapstick RR to pay and earn a Quaker RR and vice versa. You just can't use the same RR on the same deal. Hope that makes sense!

However, the Softsoap (for now) is more of a 'coupon' than an RR, meaning using it you will still get a new one.

Sabrina,

You will NOT be able to receive an RR if you pay with an RR from the SAME deal. You can, however roll different RR's- meaning use an RR from one deal to pay for a DIFFERENT RR deal.

Hope that makes sense!:)

Helen,

You are right about the filler. I will change that!:)

Hey, just a quick question. Are the megaSaver sales for the month posted somewhere online or in the store. I saw your post about the Mento's gum and had no ideal about it until I saw your post. Just wondering how someone would be able to know what is all included in the megaSaver sale? Thanks for your help, your are wonderful

COUPONING JEFF IN ST.LOUIS

ah, I see! Well that is better news at least- they told me just no using general RR's on deal with RR's - I was like What!? That makes sense though, thanks so much for sharing that with me! :-)

FYI. I just tried printing the Softsoap coupon and it said I had already printed the coupon when I hadn't. Has this coupon limit already been used up?

Hip2Save said...

AO,

Yes, I've heard from other readers that the print limit on this coupon has already been reached.

OK, I've got a question. I am totally new to this Walgreens thing. Do you guys buy the first item and then turn around and go grab the next item or do you leave the store and come back later or what? I don't want to annoy the cashier/manager...what is the protocol on this? Thanks!

Jamie said...

If you got the bag of colgate samples/coupons back in the mail (from the rebate through colgate) there is a $1.50 off the softsoap body wash included in there.

Laurie,

It really depends on what you feel comfortable with. I have a super coupon friendly cashier that loves watching me get the deals. She doesn't mind if I do a few transactions.

If you don't feel right doing a couple transactions in one store, then you may want to make a few Walgreens runs or just go back to the same one the next day.

Thank you so much for the Wagg scenario. I am soo confused when I try this on my own but you rock for sharing. I know I will be able to do this with some practice thanks to you!!

Lindsey R. said...

okay...if I do the quaker scenario and buy the chapstick at the same time, and I pay with a RR from the skintimate scenario, will I then get the quaker RR AND the chapstick RR? Can you get two seperate RR from the same transaction? (Thanks- your site is my number one by the way!)

Lindsey R. said...

same thing again....can I buy the softsoap and the skintimate and then get two RR from this one transaction?

My softsoap coupon didn't roll so I was only able to get 1 coupon and it didn't print out another one with my next softsoap...grrrr. I'm never able to get the great deals at Wags. I think I'll stick to CVS.

I tried rolling this deal this morning, but it didn't work - please tell me if I'm doing this wrong -

1. Purchased the glade candles (free after coupons), a few more items I needed, and the chapstick naturals.

2. received $2.00 RR from the chapstick

3. made a separate transaction, and purchased the skintimate and received a $3 RR.

4. used the $3 rr for the third transaction and purchased the softsoap body wash, and a .99 folder, and receieved a free softsoap coupon.

5. went back a got another softsoap body wash, used my free copupon, and no other soaftsoap coupons printed out. So I was sadly done :(

Maybe the deal isn't rolling annymore, or did I do this wrong?

Hip2Save said...

Lindsey,

Yes, you can purchase 2 RR deals in the same transaction as long as there different deals. You can also pay with an RR. Just make sure that it is a Register Reward from a DIFFERENT deal. If you pay with the an RR for the same deal you're doing again you will NOT get another RR.

Hope this all makes sense.

catalina,

You didn't do anything wrong... although, it sounds like they may have fixed the "glith" in the system to stop the Softsoap deal from rolling.

catalina said...

Oh well - still a great deal! Thanks for the idea :)

Just got back from Walgreens. Softsoap deal did not work. :( Oh well.

Softsoap rolling is DEAD in Vegas - never worked once, I tried it at 3 diff stores this morning :o(

Jamie said...

I bought the Softsoap but did not get another cat when I used the free coupon here in SE Michigan

I knew the softsoap deal wouldn't last so I hit 8 different stores Sunday (found a $1.50 coupon to use on the first softsoap from the colgate coupon book that came with the colgate MIR). I also did the quaker deal 3 times and the chapstick deal 4 times and flip-flopped the RR on each one of those to roll the $2.00 each time. Fun day I had! Great week for Walgreens deals!

No more rolling on the soft soap :(

I found vanity fair napkins on clearance here in houston for 1.49. In fact i think i saw them at two different walgreens yesterday, they all kind of blurred together when i was hopping around for bodywash. Oh well. I hope someone gets the deal

The skintimate is not in my walgreens flier, and I dont' want to purchase it if I have to return it because it wasn't on sale! Is this maybe a local sale?

Hip2Save said...

No, it should work in all areas. It just may not be advertised in some.

Thank you so much for the ideas on how to roll the Register Rewards. I just returned from my Walgreens trip and had the manager asking for lessons on couponing by the time I left! I've been couponing since November and today was probably the most fun I've had at Walgreens (even if the Softsoap deal was dead). I rolled my Register Rewards on 5 transactions and used my rebate $ on my gift card to pay the remaining balance on each. I walked out with 5 sacks and all of my cash still in my purse! What a great feeling! Thank you so much for your website. It has saved us more money than I can even imagine! PS - congrats on your new home!

Ok first off I have to tell you I LOVE hip2save.. it is the best of all the sights. Next, I can't find the 100% naturals in Walgreens anywhere. I found the normal chapsticks but can't find the other. Can anyone let me know where they found theirs?

I LOVE your site! I log on to it, (yes) several times a day... okay, a little addicted! Anyway... Is the Scott toilet paper sale a good deal? 2/$5 and I have many $1 off one 4 roll or larger...and use two of those Q with the wags Q? Also, our walgreens doesn't have the Maple Brown sugar Life Cereal... will that Q work on regular Life Cereal?

Anonymous said...

Hey...in the mail I got a $1 off Edge shaving cream so that will be a sweet deal for me.:}

Hip2Save said...

Anonymous,
The Life Cereal coupon will work fine on the regular life!:)

In my opinion, the Scott toilet paper is a good deal. I think it depends on what local grocery stores you have around. In my area none of my grocery stores double coupons and I can hardly ever find great deals on toilet paper.
