Will they adjust the coupon? For example: if the coupon is for a $1.00 and the item is for .97.

thanks alot!

You sure do have some low Walmart prices! I need to move by you. It seems to be 50 cents more here in GA/FL (we live on the border)

Kim said...

Anonymous, in my walmart they only carry the Organic Fire Roasted ($1.58) ( I think they are disqusting BTW) and it's in the canned tomato isle. They don't carry any of their other products. Target does though.

They do adjust the coupon down. If the cashier doesn't know how to, then they will send you over to customer service where they will adjust the coupon. That's what happened to me.

Have i told you lately.. that i love you! :)

You can also get some GREAT deals if you do ad matching at wal-mart. Has anyone ever ad-matched before?

Jackie said...

off! clip-on repellent is in walmart ad in San Diego for $6.88. You could use b1g1 and $2 in 5/17ss. This might be good if your wags did not have them.

metoo said...

I don't understand. Do you have to print out all the coupons from all of the Super Savers in hopes of good deals in the future? That would be a lot of printing. Or are their archives of the SS's? I'm new to this so anyone that can let me know what I need to do to get in on these good deals would be greatly appreciated!
I guess you also get a few of the Sunday papers each week as well to get the Red Plum coupons each week?

metoo said...

I meant Smart Source not Super Saver. Sorry.

T said...

when i worked at wal-mart I asked a assistant manager about the compare prices adds AND matching it with a coupon. She said YES we can do that because we would lose your business if we said no and you simply took that coupon to the store that had the item cheaper and use your money there. It sounded just about right to me!

But after I quit, I went shopping there with my comparing newspapers and coupons and a cashier told me "you can't comp and use a coupon..its one or the other." I quickly said "yes you can" and she rolled her eyes at me and scanned my coupon lol.

You can both comp and use a coupon on an item, and if the cashier gives you any grief then I would definitely call over management. Its their idea to comp and I never seen anywhere in the policy that says you can't also use a coupon.

Though...I have cut back on comping simply because I was tired of thumbing through my coupons and fighting with other stores fliers looking for the item to comp. I should try again sometime so I don't have to go prancing all over town to different stores looking for the better bargain.

Where is the Ambi located in Walmart? I looked all over mine & couldn't find it.

shenika said...

berry patch-

the ambi is in the skincare aisle. I use it all the time and i love the 3 doolar q cause sometimes it can be pricey. Also if you have the $1.00 manufacture q from cvs/walgreens smartsource coupon spitter you can use that as well. I used that on the facial soap bars whic are 1.56, so i got each one for 56cent. HTH

Hip2Save said...

Tara,
Sorry for the confusion. The suave deal is for the shampoo & conditioner, not the body wash.

Barry,
At my Walmart I found the Ambi by the Ponds cream and Olay products. These products are by the cosmetics items. I hope you're able to find them.

I was at two Walmarts today trying to stock up on the Evercare lint rollers and first aid kits for goodie bags for some hotel guests for our 20 yr reunion and totally got questioned at both stores. The first store allowed me to use a Smart source blinkie (from Publix) for $3/2 J&J First Aid products and I was only using one coupon per 3 kits. But the lint roller (which I only had 5 of) she went to the manager saying I couldn't get the trial size it wasn't the same as the one on the picture, etc. The manager backed her up so I left with nothing. CAlled corporate in the parking lot and they sounded confused, oh and the ones printed from coupons.com DO NOT have a Remit to address which is something Walmart does require but this wasn't the stores issue. I went to my favorite walmart and tried this again w/less first aid kits and they refused the blinkie coupons saying they haven't been getting reimbursed for theem from the mfg. Since it did not state MFG COUPON on it, I didn't argue and left with my 4 lint rollers. Not a good couponing day for me and corporate has not called me back.

Thank you again!

I used the $1 coupon on the Kraft BBQ sauce that was priced at $.98. It went throught without beeping! Even thought it is not good sauce I buy it to donate to the Boy Scouts food drive.

Walmart... I like to go when it is really busy. I know the coupon rules and some cashiers don't know what they are talking about. If you go when it is busy they let a lot more slide. Everything I do is honest, but you don't have cashiers questioning every coupon because they don't have time.

The Real Mom said...

Where are the All You mags? I can't seem to find any at the checkout mag stands...do you have to go to the book section? Thanks.

The Real Mom said...

I've used several $1 coupons at Walmart on things that are .97 with no problems (and yes, they deduct $1, not .97). But, I do buy like $150 worth of groceries...I'm not in there just getting the one item that I have the Q for.

Nonna said...

You are the best !

Although I don't often venture into Walmart because most of the time I get a cranky cashier who doesn't want to deal with coupons or doesn't know the coupon policy...I have walked away from deals and left my cart a few times too. I would rather leave a deal than fight with the cashier and up to 2 managers at a time.

What really makes me nuts is when they fight you on an IP with a picture on it. They assume you can only get what's pictured on it and will argue with you that it has to be the product pictured, even if the Q says ANY ! It's even worse if you are getting it free or have overage applied to other items your buying UGH !

Thanks for letting me vent LOL

My most recent trip to Wal-Mart wasn't the best one. After the cashier had scanned all of my coupons(I had a ton of them) she went and got a manager to approve my transaction. Once she saw all my coupons she said "We don't take internet coupons as of today, but since we already scanned them it will be ok." I knew that couldn't be correct so I called corporate the next day and they took me very seriously, got all my info and a local manager called and apologized. She said there had been a miscommunication and the do accept internet coupons.
Thank you Collin for you wonder advice. I LOVE all the info you give!!

At Walgreens this week Aveno is on sale 20% off and you get a $10.00 travel kit with the purchase of 3 Aveno items. Add in the coupon for $10.00 of three spicific items listed on your Walmart list it is a great deal. The Walgreens by my house is always out of the travel kits but they write me a rain check. I have also seen $2.00 off coupons somewhere recently, I beleive ontheir web site, for any Aveno item.

I too have bought items that were on roll-back or clearance for less than the coupon and it didn't beep. Love that!

But I was wondering why some were saying the cashier told them they can't use a coupon or something like that. Is it that they are going shopping for just the items they have coupons for making the transactions somewhat short? For a cashier to remember what you purchased or seeing a coupon right after scanning the item?

I usually go full out shopping for non coupon related items too and a balance of over $150 but with at least 20 coupons used. There were so many items in my transaction that the cashier can't even remember if I bought it or not. The register is programmed to beep if it does not match so as long as it takes it they don't question. Its when it beeps that they say oh..we may have to compare the coupon to the item. Doesn't happen to me very often.

I'm going shopping tomorrow and I'm headed for the bigger city Wal-Mart. They offer items for less than the small town Wal-Mart thats about 15 minutes away from me. Diapers are $1.00 more and i need to save! save! save!

Though I don't know if this Wal-Mart will take IP coupons..hope so..I know the smaller one does.

Hey Hip2Save, earlier this month you posted something about signing up for a NYC(New York color) Sweepstakes, and in the mail I recieved 2 $5.00 of any $5.00 off purchase or more, thanks so much!

TeRetta said...

Thanks for sharing such detailed information. I was able to print all of my coupons and my list. There were some items not at the price you listed, but that's okay. I was grateful for the deals I got:)

With regard to coupons that are higher than the price, they still scanned for the value of the coupon. So...that's a MM right there!

Hip2Save said...

I found another great deal at my Walmart today:
I was using the Keebler coupon you told us about on April 29 to get $1.00 off Pecan Sandies - they were on sale for $2/2, AND they had a peelie on some of them for $1.00 off milk! The cheap milk here is $2.00/gal, so I got cookies and milk for $2.00 total! Whee!

Well, up to this point, all of my coupon experiences have been good ones, so I was bound to have a not-so-good one soon...

It was today at Wal-mart. I bought some full-price items I needed and picked up some Kraft items and Crystal Light with some coupons. I think I had 15 coupons total. When I got up to the front, they had no regular lines open. Only the 20 items or under lines (2 of them) and all of the self-checkout. Since I had over 30 items, I went to self-checkout. Obviously BIG mistake! I rang all my items, then started to ring my coupons. By the third one, a red light went off and the older lady came over. She kept pushing all sorts of buttons then it locked up. She called over a supervisor who tried to fix it, but couldn't so cancelled out my transaction and sent me to another self checkout. While moving over there, she spotted my handful of coupons (all 15 of them) and said to the supervisor "Look, she has a butt-load more of them!" I said "There's only 10 more." Her supervisor then told her that she needed to check the bar codes on all of my coupons (mostly IP's by the way). The cashier exhaled loudly and rolled her eyes. She was looking over my coupons while I was ringing up my purchase AGAIN for the second time, when she rudely said "You can only use ONE of these!" I went over to see what she was talking about, and the supervisor said "These are photocopied... you can only use ONE." I said, "no, they weren't photocopied, I printed them on 3 different computers." She then took ANOTHER look and saw that the pin #'s were different on each one. Then I stood there as she 'reviewed' all of my other coupons. At this point, I am upset at the accusation of me photocoping coupons just to save a couple of bucks, but I say nothing. They go over the rest of my coupons with a fine-tooth comb and deem them all 'legit', so I can continue my transaction. The supervisor said "you'll need to cancel out her transaction when she's done and ring up the coupons on your register." Then she came over in the middle of me ringing stuff up and cancelled my transaction, then said "shoot!" like she didn't mean to cancel it WHILE I was still ringing and said "You know, you just could have just gone to a regular register!" I said "There weren't any regular registers open, only the under 20 items registers." She said "OH! that doesn't matter!! Okay, start again." (very rudely). So, at this point, not only am I trying to cheat Wal-mart by photocoping coupons, I am also really putting her out!! So, I start for the THIRD time (meanwhile, another customer comes over to the first self-checkout I was at - the broken one - and she loudly exclaims "SHE (pointing to ME) broke that one, you'll have to go to another one!" I finally finish, then she starts ringing up the coupons. Almost I had a couple of Easy Mac ($1 off 2) and she rang them up then said said "shoot, these were only .92 cents each, and these coupons are for $1 off!" and cancelled them. I said "no, they're for a $1 off 2." "oh... okay" she said and continued. Then each coupon after that beeped so the supervisor had to come over and put in her id and password to EVERY single coupon left!! The whole time, the cashier was questioning my honesty. When she got the Crystal Lights she said "I don't think she bought that many!!" then checked to see if I had the 'proper amount', then on some more, she was shaking her head, rolling her eyes, and exhaled loudly. An extra 20 minutes in line (meanwhile my husband is trying to keep my 16 mo. old entertained while I go thru this chaos!!!) Despite how rudely I was treated, I didn't say anything, but really felt like it!

It was the WORST coupon experience ever!!! So, lesson learned: I will never go thru the self-checkout with coupons again!

Mandy, I hear you on the self-checkout lanes with coupons. I made that mistake, and I had only a few coupons, but every single one required the overseer person to come over and "deal" with it. What a PITA! So I only do self-checkout if I'm not using coupons, otherwise it's just too complicated. Of course, I've had bad experiences with regular check-out lines, too :) But all in all, those go smoother.
