way tacky!!!
i love it!!
LOL Though its for a great cause..I just don't think I can put that on my car! LOL
I think I would have a hard time too if it didnt have the pink ribbon on it. And my stupid head was reding it "Free your boobies" until hubby pointed it out! Duh! : )
What a funny slogan... it'll totally stick in people's heads. I'm putting this on my car for sure! :-)
i would put a different self-exam reminder on my car, but not this one. Of course it's great that others like it because it should help, but for me, it's 35% cute, 65% obnoxious and base.
I love it too! I have a pin already! Can't wait for mine to display it proudly. Why should we be embarassed??
My 35 year old cousin (mother of 3 under the age of 11) was diagnosed with an EXTREMELY aggressive form of breast cancer less than a year ago, has had a double mastectomy, 2 different forms of chemo, radiation that had to be cancelled because they said there was nothing more they could do for her. She hasn't given up and she LOVES anything with a little humor. I'll PROUDLY put this on my car if it will help get the message out!
THANKS!!!!!
I can see the humor in this but agree that it is tacky. Not sure if this kind of attention getter is necessary, but if reaches a market, then that's worthwhile. Where I work they have public cancer awareness campaigns for both men and women, including breast, ovarian, prostate and testicular cancer. Can you see that last one in print using this theme? No and you probably won't, men would have a cow.
My mother is a breast cancer survivor, so I know the importance of self-exam. But, even with that experience I frequently forget to do my own exam. I think this is a great reminder for all women, and I will display it on my car. I just need to remember not to let my son borrow my car to drive to school! He attends Christian school and I don't know that they would appreciate the humor.
My MIL is an Oncolgy nurse and always reminded all her daughters to do their exams and get their yearly "woman's" exam. Well she found out in Dec. she has Cervical cancer and has a 47% survival rate (it's the rare and agressive type) so the world once again proves it's not fair. She's fighting now, and will continue to fight. I think this is funny, I would be a little embarrased to put it on my car...but I'm going to try to drive through the blushing - it's an important message, catching cancer early can literally save a life and if someone is prompted to do a self breast exam because of my "silly, tacky, obnoxious, base" magnet then I might just save a life.
Right on Trish! Lighten up ladies!!!! There is nothing, absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about! Heck put it on your husband's car(s)! I bet they won't be embarrassed!
It is silly and fun! That is the purpose!!!! It can definitely reach a younger generation of girls!!!!
There is NOTHING to be embarrassed about!!!!
Thanks for this!!! Love the blog! You rock!!!!
Tami
