Great Buys!
my target has the bags of Hershey Bliss on sale for $2.99. So with the target store coupon for $1 and the coupon from the newspaper - it ends up being a bag for only .99. I love this website - keep up the great savings info!!!!!
Way to go!
I had the worst experiece at my Target yesterday. I was told that they will no longer take more then one coupon/item per transaction... any one else getting this? My Target world is crumbling... lol...
(Basically the manager told me that they can only take one Target coupon per item per transaction ...meaning that they will not sell you 2 bliss bars (with coupons) in one transaction because it says right on the coupon only one per transaction) I was not going to win this discussion so I moved on... I called my normal Target and the manager told me that they are cracking down, but this was a bit extreme since I only had a couple of each item.
Plus it was one of those deals that just by looking at the manager...I knew she was up for a fight. I wasn't. I did get one heavenly bliss bar out of the deal though. Needless to say, it didn't last long!!
I had the same depressing situation yesterday at my Target. They said I was using "excessive" amounts of printables, and that they would only take one for each product. They told me several times it was obvious I had photocopied the coupons (I hadn't! They were printed in b/w) and kind of made a scene about all my coupons. I just paid for everything and am going to return all the "treats" that we didn't really need at full price.
It says on the target coupons: 1 per transaction. (sucks!) So that's why there are 4 separate purchases for this target trip so they could get 4 bliss bars for free! yummmmm
to the person who is going to return all of your 'treat's at full price, unless u are in some type of situation where you can't live without the money, i would say that's pretty f'd up to do. Even if you DO need the money, it's still wrong. Just my opinion.
so i dont understand why people are mad that they can only get one item with coupon if that is what the coupon says. Why would you return thing at full price if you bought them at discounted price. Thats fraud. i think that its transactions like this that later cost us.Why not say thank you for giving me one free item, why are you entitled to more just because you were able to in the past. Obviously they changed the wording because people were abusing it.
Great job!
I tried my luck at Target last night, but they didn't have half of the items I was looking for: Schick Quattro, Bliss bars, SoBe Lifewater, Chex Mix small bags, and Colgate Wisps 16 ct.
Maybe if I feel up to it I will try a different Target today.
yeah my target was out of stuff too and usually is the first time i go (bad timing or what??) but i wait a few days and go back and they have usually stocked up by then. We only have one target in this small hole-in-the-wall town....
no, I say definitely return the items that you couldn't get a deal on! That's what it's all about. you shouldn't have to settle and pay money that you did not intend on paying! not f'd up, just smart!
I'm confused...why is it wrong to return things that they wouldn't let her use the coupon on? am I missing something?
-Rach
ok so maybe i didnt understand its totally ok to return stuff you paid full price on. I would have just declined to buy it right when they told me i couldnt use the coupon.
I am the person who is returning the treats. Yes, I'm a single mom currently looking for more employment, and yes, the "treats" will have to go back. They were in my budget at the discounted price, but not at the full price that I paid. I only had 2 of each coupon (Pringles, Nabisco, and Chex Mix) but they said it was excessive to use printables for more than one brand in the same transaction. I do see now that they say one per transaction, so I see why two was not allowed, but I don't see why you can't use coupons for 3 different brands at the same time. That's how we always use manufacturer coupons. I'm sorry I got some of you so fired up!
I ended up with 8 Quaker bites, 5 Bliss bars, 3 bags of Chex Mix, sour cream, margarine and Banana Boat sunscreen for $1.10 the other day. Target grumped a bit about having to adjust the coupons, but they admitted that the wording on their store-issued coupons was too vague (and that I was not the first person who had issues with them.) I also did the Fiber one Deal the other day and spent about $1 or so for 4 items (yogurt, tarts, bars.)
Now if we want to talk about the fight I had with CVS yesterday about one per PURCHASE... :)
I had a huge fight at Target yesterday also. it seems to have been a bad day for Target coupon shopping yesterday. The manager would not allow me to use the Manufacturers coupons along with Target coupons. I know the policy, i had a print out of it from the corporate office but they would not budge on the issue. They also would not adjust the coupons value( $1 coupon for a .99 cent item). I'm so close to boycotting Target all together.
I don't blame you for returning the items you paid full price for. That's what i did yesterday. When i got the car and figured out what they didn't use my coupons on, i went back in and returned all the things that they would not use my coupons on. I had no intentions on buying them at full price, so i returned them. Then to make the situation even better, they told me since i had such a high amount of coupons used on that transaction, that they would not refund me via my visa(the way i payed in the first place), that they would only give me a gift card for those items. Even though i had just paid full price for them and paid on my credit card.
I was so frustrated.
I hope you all have better luck, but i think i may be done with Target for quite a while.
Hi Ladies...I have been having trouble, too, but having been a retail manager for several years, I do not budge. I have the Target policy in hand (I would suggest contacting them so you have your own personalized one) and I know the name of my corporatet contact. Last week when I tried to do the Kraft deal with overage, I went thru the cashier, the next manager, then they got someone above her who said with no hesitation it was fine. Target DOES accept a target coupon w/ a mfg coupon. They do say one per trans, and that, unfortunately, is up to mgr discretion. Corporate, however, said it is totally acceptable to purchase a reasonable amount for family...2 candy bars is reasonable, 20...not so much! They also accept coupons over the amount of the product, they just adjust the amount on coupon, like .99 item and $1 coupon they would change coupon to .99. Hope this helps...I would say call or email corporate and DON'T BACK DOWN. You are NOT doing anything wrong.
Our target wouldn't allow us to use the Bliss coupon on the little candy bar, only the bag. They wouldn't let us use the Kraft mac n cheese on the single cups, only the 4 pack. They claimed you had to get the item that was pictured, even though it wasn't written that way. I'm not upset, its the way things go. I'm not into frauding Target, so if I have to buy whats pictured, thats the way it goes.
I went to Target on Tuesday and had an awesome experience. I bought over $70 worth of groceries and paid only $20.61 OOP after coupons and $7 on a gift card. I also got $20 of gift cards for future purchase and 3 of the boxes of cereal I bought each have a coupon for a free 4-pack of yogurt. I had no problem pairing Target Qs with Manufacturer Qs, but I did single out the young male checker, and it was 20 minutes to closing! :-) I was pretty happy. I, too, have returned products after the fact when they do not allow me to use my coupons. I think that is perfectly acceptable. Somedays are good coupon days at Target, and others are not so good. It's all up to the checker, in my experience!
I had a difficult time at Target yesterday too. They would not adjust the $1 coupon to 99 cents for the Bliss bars, then they tried to tell me that they could not stack my manu q and the target q for the quaker granola bars. I had the customer behind me give me dirty looks like I was trash for trying to save $. I hate that! It was annoying! The coupons need to be more specific.
I'm with Michelle--I ALWAYS have an easy experience with young males!
Unfortunately, i just contacted the Target Corporate office and told them that the email i receieved was not sufficient and wanted some resolution for this problem.
I was told they will document it and try to make all customers visits a more pleasant expereience. So silly. so they basically did nothing to fix the problem again.
So Frustrating!!!!!!!!!!
I too had an awful time at Target yesterday!! Although I spent 31.00 and saved 34.00, it took a team leader and dirty looks to finish the job. They were not happy with me. The target coupons never scan for me.
Oh Target! I'm close to boycotting too. I did the Fiber one deal on the toaster pastries that are $1.79 each. With the gift card each box works out to be .45 cents even with out coupons. It just wasn't worth fighting with them over the .50 cent coupons that are on-line right now. I am definitely limiting my target purchases.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has troubles with Target and coupons! I had the most HORRIBLE cashier the other night, I was literally in tears as I was leaving the store. She tried to tell me that I couldn't use 2 coupons when I was purchasing 2 glade candles. The coupon says "one per purchase." How do you explain that to a cashier? I ended up telling her to void my entire transaction (the total before coupons was about $35 and almost all of my coupons were manufacturer's, so they would have been reimbursed). I was dialing corporate as I was leaving the store and my sweet husband even called that store back and spoke with the manager because he didn't like how I was treated (pretty much like I was some sort of criminal for trying to use coupons!).
Target is so obnoxious! If they just specified the product size on their coupon, the whole issue would be resolved, would it not?!
I called Target last week when I did the Mac N Cheese deal - they resisted but then let me use the coupons even though it wasn't a 4-pack. Well I called corporate just to ask them to be more specific on their coupons if they really intend for them to be used on a big size. They told me no it can be used on a small size unless it's specifically excluded and they sent me a letter with their coupon policy AND they sent me 3 "coupons" for $3 off a Target purchase. And I could even use them all in one transaction. It was well worth the call. =)
I mean .54 cents!
My sister and I went to target on Tuesday in Bellingham,WA. And we had a hard time with the Target Q's as well. She was giving me a hard time with the Easy Mac & Cheese Q said" it had to be the 4 pack, because it's in the picture" I told her it doesn't say "4 pack". She ended up taking it. They also didn't want to take more than 1 Target Q. So we said ok then we'll do 5 different trans. i've never had this problem before. Must be something new. Oh well. Now I know just to buy one at a time. It's fine with me.I just wish they wouldn't be so rude about it. It try VERY hard not to be rude with them even when I should be. It's jsut simply not worth it. All I say is "Thank you for you time, have a GREAT day" Get's them everytime.
Wow! I NEVER have a problem with my target! I do shop there tons so most everyone knows me, I never buy more than 2 or 3 of a single item with coupons (though I might have 20 different coupon items all together), and I always pick up 1 or 2 things that I need but don't have coupons for. I also choose my checkers - not looking for ones that know me, but for personality - never choose a grumpy checkers line (coupons or not)! I try to not abuse the system like buying 16 bliss bars at once, or by getting $50 of groceries for $3... Abusers hurt us all as coupons were not meant for that! I love to get a good deal, but stores do have to make a certain amount of profit to stay in business!!!
Be kind, treat your checker as you would want to be treated even if they don't reciprocate, and if all else fails and they won't take your coupons, tell them that you would rather not have the item then. It is much more considerate to tell them when checking out that you would rather not have the item, as opposed to returning it - more of a pain for you and them! Also, if it is food, they are required by law to dispose of it, it cannot be resold.
On the other hand, thank you HIP2SAVE for your postings, I would never have the time or energy to find all this info otherwise! :)
Last week I had the experience from hell with a team leader at Target. She started with we don't take ip, it was a target coupon and went on from there. I told her to cancel the whole thing, only because of this site and your comments. I went to another cashier, oddly enough it was a young male, teehee, and everything was fine. It's got to be the cashier.
I get looks from my Target sometimes too. But today I had a pleasant experience. I got pringles for .19,chex mix for free, i got some purell hand sanitizer for .37 each (I got the bigger size even though the small size would have been free b/c for .37 I got double the amount.) I got 2 boxes of Jimmy Dean croissant for $3 each w/$1 q, and I got some dish sponges for free that were on clearance for .98 and had a $1 peelie on them. (they are the scotch brite ultra nail saver, some were .98 some were 1.27 and some were reg price.) She didn't even adjust my coupons down to .99 and .98.
i love this!!!!!!!!!
I had the worst time of my life in Target. They would not combine a man.coupon and a target coupon even after I showed them their own policy.. The store manger said there was too many fake coupons out there. Target will not be my first choice anymore.

I had a horrible experience about a month ago when they had the meat coupon. First of all the cashier in the express lane waves me over...I said I have to many items she said that's okay...she knew what she was doing...she rings everything up and then tells me that i can only use 2 target coupons...so i told her to void and ring them as seperate transactions..she continued to go on and on telling me i'm stealing from target and get this after she rings everything up she turns off her light and tells me like a little kid come on you need to talk to the manager about this...when we walked over the manager had a look of horror on her face and told me privately she would use that many coupons to if she could...she told me there was nothing they could do.When I got home I called target and told them about her telling me i'm stealing from them...needless to say i haven't seen her since.
