Do you know if the minimum purchase stated is before or after you use your certificates? For example, could you use 2 $25 certificates on a $50 food order (if the minimum purchase if $50)? Or does your total have to come to the minimum stated AFTER you use your certificates?

Thanks for the help :) :)

I purchased these for my father two years ago or so and you could not use more than one gift certificate at a time. Aldo, alcohol was exluded from the total and there were other stipulations. I felt really cheap cause I got him two $25 for x-mas and he was asking "where the hell did you get these?" There were other insane stipulations that I can not recall that he later found.

Sorry for the typos and mispellings!

Here are the official rules per the website:

Limit one (1) redemption per party, per month, per restaurant

Limit one (1) Restaurant-Specific Certificate per redemption. Only one Restaurant-Specific Certificate can be used per party, even if the party is seated at separate tables and/or receives more than one check.

Use of Restaurant-Specific Certificates for alcoholic beverages is at the sole discretion of the restaurant.

Valid for parties of two (2) or more unless otherwise stated.

Valid for dine in only unless otherwise stated.

There are rules that you'll see when you choose a restaurant and like Courtney said you can only use one certificate at a time.

Most of the $25 gift certificates are valid with a minimum food purchase of $35, but they do usually add on an 18% gratuity... still a pretty sweet deal, though. Especially since the $25 certificate only costs you $3!

I really like using these and have had a really good experience so far.

That is an amazing deal. Unfortunately, the only place in my area I would go to is sold out. Go figure!!

ok - im still confused.....for the 35 minimun is that before or after the coupon???

i think its a great deal. there are several place i go too....this way i can spend a little more.

You will have to spend $35 minimum before the coupon can be used. As long as you spend $35 or more you'll be able to use the coupon.I hope that makes sense.

Remember, though, that each restaurants minimum may vary a little.

I purchased some last year and used my first one last weekend. I couldn't believe how wonderful the service was and the food was great. I asked about the minimum total which was 35 for our 25 cert. Our server said as long as the total comes up 35 it would take the cert. We were even to include alcohol in the amount. The total was 18.00 (included 8.00 tip) I can handle spending that much for a great evening out! I would recommend buying some.

I just bought 4 $10 ones for a local diner. I was able to use the TASTY code---I think as long as you buy over $25 originally. The only thing I don't like is that you can only use one a month. Mine were $.90 apiece with a minimum purchase of $15.00. Lunch with my two daughters will be tough to reach that although they both usually like a side item. So for less than the price of McDonald's we will have a nice lunch including the tip!

Can you use a prepaid Visa? I've heard of people having problems with them charging you a monthly fee.

I JUST USED ONE OF THESE AND OUR TOTAL BEFORE THE COUPON WAS 57 AND AFTER IT WAS LIKE 27. I THINK THEY MADE A MISTAKE.

Unfortunately, the first time I attempted to use one of these certificates, the server told me it had been used 1 hour before my bill arrived!! I told them don't worry about it, that I would take it up with the website. (I can't refuse to pay the bill when it's the restaurant.com system that's telling them the certificate is invalid!)

What I ended up figuring out, was that the website will refund you your certificate price if there is a problem, they won't refund the amount you were supposed to get discounted! I now have to call the restaurant and fight it out with them because it appears to be an error on the part of the server. I was told that the certificate had been used at 6:55pm and I got my bill at 8:00. I found out that the validation system uses CST and I'm EST (so it was actually cleared at 7:55). SO that means the server must have passed the bill off to someone else who called in the certificate and then didn't tell anyone, then the bill was handed back and they called again, resulting in a dead certificate. That scenario is only my assumption, but still, I take my mom out for Mother's Day to a new place based on the certificate, and I get ripped out of the $25. :( SO, be very careful when the server takes your certificate and make sure you fully explain the details to anyone you give these to as a gift!

I bought several of these for my favorite restaurant. After previously redeeming 2 of them without problems the restaurant then said they were no longer honoring them! I was furious as we had already eaten our meal. Restaurant.com gave me credits to purchase other certificates instead of a refund. No thanks. I'm not going through that again.

I purchased 2 of these and used my first one last night. We were thrilled with it! The restaurant was very easy to work with.

After the tip we spent what we normally would have spent on just two entrees. But we got the two entrees, an appetizer, three drinks and two kids meals.

Definately worth it...Woot!

About twice a month my husband and I go out to eat and use a certificate. Most of the time things go well. One thing that happens is that we buy higher priced entrees and appetizers to get our total to 35.00.We have to use a doggy bag to bring home uneated food.
We have had only 3 negatives for about 10 uses. Two of the negatives was that the restaurants were out of business. The other negative was that we had a $25. certificate for a deli. The deli was small and only served sandwiches. Since there was only two of us and there wasn't any deli items to purchase to bring our total to $35., we only had a sandwich and paid oop.It would have been nice to have the $10 certificate instead.
I have learned that one should check out the restaurant with a phone call to be sure of what they offer and to be sure they are still there. Jackie
