One of my readers passed on a couple awesome deals in the Target deals post comment section. I though they were definitely worth mentioning again for everyone to see!

Deal Scenario:
Buy 1 Perfect 10 Hair Color $5.94
Use the $2 coupon from the 5/3PG
Pay $3.94
Get back a $5 Target gift card
Final cost FREE + $1.06 moneymaker!

Also, the travel size Dove deodorant is priced at $1. Use the $1.50/2 Dove coupon from the 3/15RP to get each deodorant for ONLY .25!

My target (West Virginia) had Dixie lunch size plates on clearance for $1.38. I use the Target $1 off Dixie coupon to snag plates for 38 cents each! Woo hoo! Don't forget that if you haven't printed enough coupons at home you can always print the current coupons through the registry computers at the front of the store.

My store had a lot of clearances in the paper products. I also snagged Reynolds Aluminum foil on clearance for $1.48, $1 coupon from a few weeks ago, total of 48 cents for a roll of foil!

Soleil razors were on sale this week for $4.39, $3 coupon, so total of $1.39 for razors.

Great day at Target. Spent $23 and saved $35.

AWESOME DEAL!! Thanks!

The regular sized Dixie plates were being used as a substitute for the Hefty ones that were advertised. The 100 ct. Dixie plates were $2.80. I used the $1 Target coupon and the $.50 man. coupon to get them for $1.30!! I spent $18 and saved $45 and had a wonderful cashier. I also got my Nicoles saving Target gift card in the mail today from the promo. I signed up for in March.

I also found $3 off coupons on select packages of meat and they are regular Target coupons good toward ANY meat...so I peeled them off of the packages they were on, used them towards the ground beef that's on sale for $1.99/lb...got 3 packages, used 2 coupons...3 packages of ground beef for free! Keep an eye out for those coupons on the meat! It's just a Target coupon for any meat.

I have a question for the nicole's savers program. For the person who just quoted that they received their target gift card and they had signed up in March I was wondering did you cancel your membership as the 30 day trial was ending or have you waited until you received your gift card?

I just signed up three weeks ago so I am wondering should I keep the membership until I get my gift card?

Mary,
Should you really be peeling coupons off the items they are intended for and using them for other items? That doesn't sound very ethical to me.

Anonymous said...

Lots of things in this world that are not ethical. Is everything you do ethical? There are so many injustices in this world besides a Target meat coupon. I peel sometimes off peelies when I see them if it is a product I use or want and wait for a sale either at that store or somewhere else. LOL!

About the Nicole's Savings ? ; I recieved a form in the mail that I filled out and sent back. I couldn't figure out how to cancel from looking at their site so I sent them two different email messages asking them to cancel my membership. I never heard back from them but they didn't charge my credit card either. I was pleasantly surprised to get the gift card yesterday! So, yes, I cancelled my membership by 30 days and still got my gift card. Hope it works out well for you.

I just wanted to comment on the ethical/unethical peelie comments. I try to remind myself of the golden rule; "Do to others as you would have them do to you." It's easy for me to become caught up in trying to get a great deal and forget this wise advice. When I step back and think about it , it's not worth it to me to disregard this wise advice to save a few dollars.

is the $5 gift card unadvertised? because there were no signs (as there are with all other $5 gc items).. i didnt do this deal because i thought maybe the NW region wasn't participating???

Anon,
This may be unadvertised in your store, but it still might work. When you are there next time price check a Perfect 10 Hair Color. If your store is running this gift card promo, then next to the price of the product it will state $5 gift card. I hope that makes sense.

I agree. Peeling coupons off products isn't nice.

It annoys me when I need to actually buy a product and I'm robbed of a bonus (coupon) that was meant to go with my purchase. And its very annoying when someone robs many bottles of their coupons just to save sometime..some place else.

It also annoys me when someone steals the bonus smaller bottles off items..or bonus samples off items.

I went to Target the other day and bought my baby some body/hair wash. The 16. oz bottle came with a bonus 9. oz. for free. And out of that pack, 3 were missing their bonus 9. oz. bottles. I got (purchased) the last one that still had its bonus bottle.

So...that being said..please think of the person actually buying that product right there and then. You are making them miss out on a bonus for buying that item by taking off its coupon.

I'm sure you would be mad too if you missed out because someone else thought they needed it more than you.

I went to my local target here in Portland. I was told the coupon policy had changed in the last week. They would not let me use a target coupon and a manufacture coupon. They also said even if I purchased two items that I could only use one manufacutre coupon as they said the coupon said "one coupon per purchase" which they said meant I could only use one coupon not per item but per transaction. So I just asked the cashier for my coupons back and I let her know I will call corporate in the morning to get the new policy. As she said the policy I had printed out was no longer any good since it had changed.

It sounds to me like they are just making up their own translation of what a coupon says. Most don't realize that a manufacture coupon is just like cash seeing they will get back the money.

If a store..say Target offers a coupon of their own, they choose to give you a price break with that coupon. When you use a manufacture coupon, YOU are getting a great deal for your family..AND Target still gets the price they offered with their store coupon once they receive reimbursement from the manufacture's coupon you used. I just don't understand why Target and Walgreen freak out so much.

If they are thinking they are going to get robbed in some way....why would they if the coupon came from a source they can completely trust?! RP..SS..P&G? I just don't get it.

example:

Jar of Kraft Mayo..3.99
Target store coup..2.00 off
making item........1.99
TARGET EXPECTS AND GETS 1.99

adding a SS coupon 1.00 off
making item....... .99
CUSTOMER GETS GREAT DEAL!

Target gets .99 for 3.99 itm
THEY THINK "WE GOT ROBBED!"

Target sends off UR 1.00 Q
Target gets back 1.00
making itm final price 1.99
LIKE THEY WERE EXPECTING TO GET IN THE FIRST PLACE WITH THE COUPON THEY OFFERED THEIR CUSTOMERS!

Why is this so hard for them to understand? And even if you use multiple of the same coupon with same amount of items (4 mustards and 4 coupons) How would the manufacture know you used more than one on your transaction? Is there some strange little man working at his desk examining every coupon and saying "I'm pretty positive this customer used 4 of these on the same transaction."

The store gets back every penny they are out as long as they send them off. The store makes the money they expected to make..and a family gets a great deal in these hard times.

There are lots of coupons out there. And lots get thrown away or not used. Coupons fly through the registers at stores every day. To put so many restrictions on them is just stupid.

I hope stores realize this soon. But looks like we will have to at some point or other..just choose a store that is coupon friendly and just stick with it.

No Perfect10 clearance or giftcard offer in Austin, TX. Drag!

I also had some weirdness at the register with using a manufacturer coupon and a Target coupon on the same item. It took whichever coupon got scanned first, but when the cashier tried to scan the second, the register flashed "item not found." She accepted both coupons anyway, but I felt weird putting her in that situation. Why don't their registers operate according to their coupon policy?

Anonymous said...

Cherilyn,

I heard something about this on another post. I might be wrong, but I think it was said to hand over the Target coupon first..then the manufacturer coupon???? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. And the register won't beep this way and will except both.

What order did you hand the coupons over with?

Anonymous said...

My Target in north west Florida doesn't have them on special either. $11.

Cherilyn said...

Anon,

Thanks for the tip! I'll try the Target-coupon-first policy. I usually just hand over all my coupons at once... I already feel so awkward creating a huge logjam at the register when there are people behind me. You know how it is!

i will try to be smarter and cooler about it!
