UPDATE: This Give-Away has now ended!
I have a fun new give-away for all of you:
Over the past seven years, Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories has given away more than 35 million children's books by distributing them FREE inside cereal boxes and has donated nearly $3 million to First Book, their non-profit partner, which provides books to children from low-income families.
In addition to encouraging children to read, Cheerios is looking for anyone interested in writing children's books. Now in its third year, the Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories New Author Contest is a way to encourage previously unpublished, up-and-coming children's book authors and to continue to nurture a love of reading. Entries are being accepted March 16 through July 15, 2009 and will be judged on appropriate story and content for children ages 3-8, emotional connection, writing quality, uniqueness, and read-aloud potential. More details on the contest can be found at http://www.spoonfulsofstoriescontest.com/.
I was excited to receive 4 copies of some of the adorable books distributed by Cheerios courtesy of My blog Spark! One of the books I received was actually the winner the first year the Author contest ran! The book title is “The Great Dog Wash.” This book is written in English and Spanish. My kiddos loved all 4 of the books and I loved all the great messages that went along with them.
Would you like to win a set of 4 books?!
Well, the good news is I have one Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories gift set to give-away to one of my lucky readers! You will get a copy of the "The Great Dog Wash" as well as three other books from the Spoonfuls library.
Wanna enter?
Just tell me one of your favorite childhood books, then just leave your name and contact info below. I will announce the lucky winner tomorrow, June 23rd at 6 p.m. EST.
My favorite childhood book by far is "The Giving Tree"! I love, love, love that book. Every time I read it that wonderful knot builds up in my throat and I usually can't help but cry... just a little, though... ok, maybe a little bit more then that!

When we are done we walk around and say "goodnight" to all the things in his room before he goes to bed. I did the same routine with my teenager when he was little. I'm a HUGE children's literature fan (I actually went back to school a few yrs back to become a librarian!). Anyway, I always have a terrible time naming a favorite. Anything Shel Silverstein (The Giving Tree) Robert Munsch (Love You Forever) or a newer author that I think is sooo funny, Mo Willems. Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus is so cute. Especially since my oldest was always bugging me to let him drive when it first came out!
