Yeah the limit is 2 and Staples here in MI stick to that 2. I have some of the $.50/1 from http://print.coupons.com/Couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=13388&zid=ns28&nid=20
but they are no longer up. I plan on buy the 2 and hoping they give them to me free

Yes, it's 2 per item. I went today and the manager said that the $1 for 2 would have to be 'priced down' to 25 cents. If I bought 4 then two were at 25 cents and the other two were 2.99 each.
But I had printed some of the 50 cents off one pack of any size pencils. I had four of these coupons. So I bought 4 sets of 2 each (total of 8) in different transactions and used one 50 cent off coupon per transaction. So I paid nothing.......not even tax for all 8 sets of pencils! Woo Hoo
Staples will not allow you to use the coupons b/c the limit is 2 so it would only be 50 cents and they do not allow coupons with sales.
take the ad to walmart and they will price match it.
Don't despair about the $1/2 bic product coupons. I did the deal today and they would NOT let me get 4 for .25 each in one transaction.... so I knew I would have overage so I got fillers (2 pencil sharpeners at .25 each also) and used the $1/2 and got 2 packs of pencils and 2 pencil sharpeners for free + tax. Easy peasy! No questions! LOL!
anyone know where I can find the Staples coupon policy? I went this morning to get the Bic pencils. I was told I could not use a coupon because they were on sale.
I went to Wal-Mart, and they did not have the same item. :(
I tried to use the BIC $0.50 coupons for 2 packs of pencils and the cashier said no. She tried to say no to my Expo click coupons too. I don't know what was going on there. She ultimately took the Expo coupons but not the BIC. I should have asked for a manager but had both my boys in tow and just wanted a quick transaction. Regretting it now though - it's the point of it.
Just used the .50 off 2 Bic coupon at Staples yesterday and bought the 2 Bic pencil packs for .25 each and just paid the tax (.08). No problem with them taking the coupon in Mesa, AZ.

Couldn't use my coupons on the Bic mechanical pencils! Couldn't use them on the Expo Click, either! Apparently, when the coupon says not to combine w/ other deals, Staples thinks that means store sales too.
Sounds fishy to me- shouldn't the "automatic coupon" from Staples be considered a STORE coupon--- you would therefore be able to use your manufacturers coupon, too... right?
I went today also, and they would not take the .50 mechanical pencils coupon....I called corporate and they said that they do not price modify the coupon...If its over the price of an item...They can not take it......................
