Kmart Alert: Doubles Starts on August 30th + Other Not So Good News!

I have some good news and some bad news! The good news--as you all most likely know Kmart will be doubling again starting on Sunday, August 30th! I will also have a double deals list posted by Friday, so stay tuned for that. If you're unsure if your store is participating, then I would recommend checking out the extensive compilation of participating stores Hot Coupon World has listed.

Now onto the bad news... well, according to Courtney, a reader, this is the last round of Kmart Super Doubles for 2009. All future doubles have been suspended from 9/5 through the end of January 2010 due to the holidays. My Frugal Adventures reported this as well and even talked with 5 different reps to verify. I was sad to hear this news, but on a positive note Super Doubles will be back... we'll just have to be patient and wait for a good 5 months.

Still call your Kmart store! Mine in TN never shows up on those lists or e-mails from corporate but they do participate!

5 Months without Kmart doubles???

okay, this may seem like a silly question, but if the manufacturer's coupon says not to double or triple, will K-Mart still not double it during these days???

wow! one whole store in NC is participating. how generous of them.

I also have the question about the coupons that say do not double. Kmart has a coupon in front of the vaseline for 1.50 off the Aloe style lotion. It says do not double. I am wondering if they do.

Why oh why doesn't Washington ever participate in these?

my kmart never doubles the coupons that say do not double even if the code starts with a 5. they manually enter all doubles, the machine does not do it for them at our local kmart. course they SELDOM double anyway...

Of course, Oregon is not one.

I didn't pay attention to the coupons that I used last week for the doubles but i'm sure that i prolly used ones that said do not double and my price always came out to what i thought it would. :)

I bought the vaseline lotion and used the coupon hanging in front. That time it doubled so I ended up getting the lotion for free because it also happened to be on sale that week. Another time they had coupons in front of the deodorant so I got all excited that I was going to get Old Spice deodorant and Secret for free but then it did not double that time. I would take one and test it, then if it works go get more if you want to. Although if I get one more lotion in my house I could probably fill up a bathtub...

This bad news is actually disguised good news for some of us: A shut-down of the program means that now is the time then to call Kmart corporate and start requesting for them to add your store for the 2010 double coupon campaigns! When i called to see if Tulsa area stores participate, the rep. told me that they consider the demand and then add the stores in Jan., and if enough people request their stores chosen, they get put on the list. If you'd like to request your store participate, call Kmart at 1-866-KMART-4U (1-866-562-7848), from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. (CT) Monday - Sunday. Press 0 to get to a representative and if your store doesn't participate, ask to file a "concern" and request yours be added. There's no guarantee yours will be added, but if yours doesn't participate and nobody calls, you can be more sure it won't. It takes about 10-15 minutes.

The cashiers at my store are trained to check each coupon to make sure it isn't expired, doesn't say DO NOT DOUBLE & that there are only 10. If a manager/supervisor comes over to help for any reason they remind the cashier once again about the DND.

Yes it will double if it says do not double- Kmart eats the cost from what I understood. I am disappointed about this being the last round!! I LOVE to coupon now, and have gotten friends to do it also. I can not wait till Sunday! :) My store seems to always do the doubles so far. Lets hope for a good 2010 also.

ALSO- I did do some B1G1 coupons. I asked the cashier- and she asked a fellow employee who told her no, but I told her to try the coupon anyway and it went thru. Just a heads up to try it at least. You could always tell them you didnt want it if it didnt go thru. Just a heads up!

If anyone plans to use a $5 off $50Kmart coupon, read the fine print first. They say that you need to use that one LAST, AFTER all manufacturers coupons are rung through. I was disappointed with that one. Otherwise, as far as doubling coupons, that say do not double, the cashiers that I get here in Michigan, NEVER look at the coupon. The just scan. The only exeption is if you printed the coupon off yourself, then they have to manually enter it. Even then, the last cashier I had let me go with like 30 coupons each order, and I had 3 orders in one basket! I had a great day last Wednesday! Plus, then when my 2 $5 catalinas printed off, I went back into the store and bought some more! I hope I have as much luck this time around. It all depends on the cashier...

I am going to be in "DOUBLES" withdrawal! I feel like I've conquered the world after walking out from a doubles shopping trip. On the other hand, it will give me time to use up my supply.

First time going to Kmart for their double coupons sale...would not let me stack any Kmart coupons with manufacturer coupons...totally a bummer!!! Rude Cashiers nit picking my every coupon, like I was doing something illegal.

I use a $5/$50 every time I go. They never give me any problem and they scan it first every time. I agree, im going to have withdraws but it will a good break to use my stockpile, build my coupon book back up and shop some other stores. :)
