The Kmart Super Doubles Saga!

Well, lots of readers have emailed me regarding the upcoming (9/27) Kmart Super Doubles and the confusing information they have received. Some readers have heard that Kmart is actually ONLY doubling Proctor & Gamble coupons. The weird part, though, is that some reader have received emails NOT indicating this at all. I'm wondering if this will vary by location, but honestly I'm just very confused, as I'm guessing you are too!

What do you all think about this?

**Also, don't forget to check and see what locations are participating in doubles here.

It is Kmart...do we ever really know what is going to happen?

I've already contacted my Kmart about this. As long as the email I have received from Kmart Corporate does not specify P&G they will double coupons according to what the email states which is same as before. I will be there Sunday morning with my coupons and email in hand!

There are NO Kmarts in Arkansas doubling. Just thought I'd let everyone know. I sent them an email a few days ago and was told this.

I got an email from Kmart customer service saying my store was participating in the double coupon event but made no mention of P&G coupons. I hope that is honored by my store!

I just got my email stating that it is P & G Brandsaver only that will be doubled...of course I responded back with how disappointed I am along with countless others and how much higher in price they are and that them doubling coupons is what actually gets us in the doors!

Courtney said...

I got an email yesterday saying only P&G coupons that say P&G on them will be doubled :(

My Kmart NEVER doubles! Neither do any other stores in my state that I am aware of. I am jealous of people who live in a state that not only has Kmart doubles but also grocery stores as well....

my kmart in jacksonville nc hasn't participated in doubles since spring but they are this time and they didn't mention anything about p&g restrictions

Michelle said...

Here is the orig. email I received... looks like they can "modify" at any time! If this is true I will not be going to Kmart again.

Following are the restrictions:

Limit 10 coupons, per day, per customer may be doubled. Participating
stores only. Amount of credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the
current retail price of a single item. No cash or in-store purchase
credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the
item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be
doubled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same item using double
coupons. Excludes Buy One, Get One offers, Kmart Savings coupons and
Kmart Store coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Limit 10
coupons per customer per day. Offer excludes products prohibited by law,
including but not limited to alcohol, tobacco, and prescription
medication. Not valid on non-merchandise, federal or state regulated

registers within Kmart and kmart.com. In the event of a return, coupon
savings may be deducted from the refund. Exclusions apply. Please see
store associate for details. Sears Holdings (Kmart) reserves the right

my kmart (grand rapids, mi) always doubles and allows a 75 per day limit. I'm hoping the restrictions will not apply! I need diapers and wipes. :)

The rules as of last time were that you had to spend at least $25 before coupons and can only have 10 coupons doubled in one order. (But I went through multiple times...)Wish they would just double anything up to $2 like it was when they first started it...

I just called up 4 K-Mart stores (PA)near me and none of them has ever participated in doubling coupons :-(

Called corporate and no participating stores in MD.

well i quess i wont be going. i am not going to spend 25.00 just to be able to use coupons. where i live in NC we had to drive 1 hour in a half to the only k-mart doing it in our state. the other week when they had it. they were taking 20 coupons per person and had no amount u had to buy. and they were very rude. as much as i would like to. Im not giving them my money this time. now there wanting u to spend more money. 25$ nope not me!!!!

Rebecca Davidson said...

KMart is pathetic when it comes to informing people about doublers.

the $25 is before your coupons. If they double all coupons and not just PG you'll walk out with lots of freebies and not spend a cent.

Here is what a reader received and posted in the comment on a different blog (commonsensewithmoney.com). It looks like KMart has modified the program and they are calling it a P&G BrandSaver event where they will only double P&G coupons with the words Proctor and Gamble in the wording, P&G brand coupons which do not have this will only be accepted at face value:

Thank you for your recent correspondence. We are always interested in hearing from our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered with the previous miscommunication. This event has had some adjustment to the conditions and we have had to modify our announcements to our customers. The following information has been approved by our corporate office for the official guidelines of the event.

We appreciate your interest in our ?Double Your P & G BrandSaver Coupons? event which will be advertised in Sunday, Sept 27th newspaper.
This event is for select participating Kmart locations from September 27-October 3, 2009.

All Procter & Gamble coupons that include the name ?Procter & Gamble? in the coupon disclosure are included. If this verbiage does not appear in
the disclosure, the coupon can be accepted at face value only. The
limit is 10 doubled coupons, per day, per customer.

Again, thank you for your interest in our Kmart ?Double Your P & G BrandSaver Coupons? event. We invite you to visit any of the participating stores.

Sincerely,

I live in WV and there are no K-Marts near me that double coupons. No fair.

Anonymous said...

I have next weeks ad & there is no mention of double coupons or P&G coupon event.

Anonymous said...

I received the same P&G statement.

But I remember it being advertised in the P&G insert for the July Doubles event (same as they are stating it will be advertised this time); but everything else still doubled. I'm hoping that they are just trying to discourage people (wrong though, IMO).

I VERY much doubt their computers will be programmed to only double P&G. The ones in my store are so ancient, I don't see how that is possible.

Same with their 'limit' the computer knows no limit, it will just continue to keep doubling.

Sorry for the rambling!!

Anonymous said...

I JUST SPOKE WITH MY KMART AND IT IS ONLY P&G COUPONS AND ONLY 5 PER DAY.

Anonymous said...

So if it is only P&G coupons are they going to be doubleing ones that are over $2?

Anonymous said...

THEY ARE ONLY DOUBLING UP TO AND INCLUDING $2.

Courtney said...

I'm thinking this one is not worth my time. They want to get us in there, but change the rules so much its not like we are even going to leave feeling like we got great deal! :( I think im finished with Kmart!

Chrystal said...

I emailed corporate and got a response that this even would only involve the P&G coupons. The email stated that "Proctor & Gamble" must be included in the coupon wording. But, there's a P&G brandsaver coming out this Sunday. Maybe there will be some good deals afterall.

Anonymous said...

I emailed asking for info and the first email said nothing about the PG only. So i emailed again and asked for the terms and conditions and they said PG only.

Diane said...

I'm just going to wait to see what the ad says.

I remember once before they told us it was only P&G and it ended up being everything. I am hoping that is the same case here. But I'm not even going to bother calling or emailing because even when you do that sometimes you don't get the right information. I hope the ad comes online early. Otherwise I guess I'll just see it on Saturday.

I contacted Kmart Corp and was told that the promotion does not include Oregon. That they picked locations they determined would produce the "most" sales. Interesting! They did not specify only doubling certains products/manufactures. They need a LOT of direction as far as management.

You can find the list of stores in and around KC participating in this offer right here:

Emilie said...

I'm another one who first received an email confirming the event with no mention of P&G. I replied, asking for the event guidelines, and got an email referring to the P&G double coupon event. I'm disgusted and I am never going to waste my time watching for or checking on Kmart promotions again. They constantly change policies with no care to previous information customers received. Bah!

During the last two super double event at the two K-marts in our town, they did not enforce the $25 before coupons rule NOR did they enforce the limit of coupons used.

I was following the 'rules' and noticed that others were not, so I asked three differnt cashiers at different stores about coupon limit, and they all said there were none.

I bought 4 bottles of Ajax on one trip and asked the cashier if I needed to have a minimum order before they would double my Q's and she said that it didn't matter, and the register doubled my four Q's with no problem.

I wonder what other's experience was with this during the last super double event. Did any of the K-marts stick by those rules?

mommyof4 said...

My store didn't say anything about only being able to double P&G coupons..

We shall see.

Anonymous said...

Will you be posting a list for the doubles?

Anonymous said...

Kmart is so funny. The first time I went to a Doubles event they didn't stick to any of the rules. Then this past time i went in thinking they didn't care about the rules and - this time the casheir was nasty with me and made me put most of my stuff back becasue I couldn't use the coupons. I then went to another one in the same town, they allowed me to use up to 75 coups with no minimum purchase!

Really, I wouldn't count on there rules. You just have to go and ask at the registers before shopping. If the cash registers are set up to double coups up to $2.00 I don't think they can tell the difference between the verbiage on the coup. All the register knows is to take off X amount and double it. i would just ignore the rules about P&G only coups until you actually try it first.

I emailed corporate, the only restrictions in Florida are: Kmart coupons (store or pharmacy) will not be doubled. Mine is a Double Coupon Event, according to the email - maybe it's different from the P&G BrandSaver event.

I am sure they will only Double P&G here in metro Detroit I've gone three times and every time they double less and less. I had to put half my items back because I didn't know what qualified as grocery and pharmacy. (Cleaning supplies are grocery but health and beauty isn't pharmacy? What?) I didn't even bother to go the last time, waste of my time.

Kathleen said...

i stopped going to kmart for doubles because they are SO freakin' unorganized. Also, I found myself always paying more then I thought I would, and I could never figure out why, even when looking at the receipt. I'm over it.

I have had good luck with the K-mart here in our area when I can actually find the items on the shelves. I have discovered if I want to do the doubles I have to go directly after church on Sunday or everything will be sold out and they don't restock. I have never been given a limit on the number of coupons I use or on the amount I have to spend. I take my husband who also checks out and the two kids..one is usually crying by the time we get to the registers so I think they just want us out of the store!

I also emailed and was told only P&G coupons will double.

Zip Code: 42701

If they are only doubling P&G (which the email I received said they were) I found this which makes it all a little better:

P&G Redeem Coupons & they are donating .02 Cents for every coupon redeemed towards Breast Cancer Foundation from Sept 27th P&G Coupon Inserts in Sunday paper

For every coupon you redeem from the Sunday, September 27 issue of P&GbrandSAVER, you will help give the gift of hope by helping educate women on the importance of early detection.

When breast cancer is found early, the five-year survival rate is 98%.

For every coupon redeemed, a $.02 donation will be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

I am skipping this one. P&G don't usually have many good coupons.

This is the last straw for me and Kmart. I'm really tired of their inconsistency and ever-changing rules. What's up with some stores participating and some not every time? Their prices are ridiculous anyway. Bye-bye Kmart.

knowing how little my kmart cares, I'm going to be there w/ my zbinder at 8am Sunday lol.

I figure I'll do some test runs and see how the store is handling it.

Guess What~~ Guess What~~ I just called my local KMart - New Boston, OH. They ARE doing Super Doubles this weekend and it's ALL manufacturer's coupons, not just Proctor & Gamble -- woooohoooo!!!!

April,
I hope they are right, because the email Kmart sent me said that New Boston & Chillicothe were only doing P&G coupons. I guess we'll just have to go check it out.

The manager at my local KMart told me the new limit was 10 coupons per ITEM, not per transaction... WOOO HOOO.... gonna get clipping tomorrow.

I just called Kmart here in Lima Ohio and they "forgot" to print it in the local flyer, (which didn't even get placed in my newspaper) but they are honoring the double coupon deals!

I went to my Kmart in Phoenixville PA today - usually they are pretty good. Today was such a horrible coupon experience! 3 different cashiers came over to inspect my purchases with the coupon! I am very honest with matching coupons to the correct item too. I was sweating and sooo uncomfortable! I think I might boycott Kmart after this experience. I know better than to let them make me feel badly but honestly it was really unpleasant - we are not criminal!
