i looked in the tin cans but found no coupon....

I tried to use a coupon for the tin and a coupon for the free refills and they wouldn't take both... Is that Target's coupon policy or was it my cashier? Elise

At Wal Mart they have the tins and refills for $2.98 ea. Use the $3.00 off coupon plus use the Free refill coupon and you can get both free. I just got 3 of each for FREEE!!!

My Target is like the gestapo. They don't take printed Qs, no stacking, no nothing. I haven't set my foot there for 2 years already.

Good luck finding coupons in the tins. It seems like the store knows it's in there and they take them out, or people are taking them out. Stumps me, because if someone is going to take them out, why wouldn't they just take the candle and buy it for the .16 cents?

I got them yesterday.
Some tins have coupons in them and some don't.
Makes for a good deal!

At my Walgreens they took them out because they had them at the front register with a sign that said 2 for $5. They ask you if you would like to try them and tell you they have a coupon you can use. I got one there and when I opened that one "NO coupon" I bought some at another Walgreens where they were not doing that and the coupons were inside.

I've picked up a few of these already. First went to Super Target and NONE had any coupons inside, just happened to find one laying outside by some other candles. Today went to reg. Target and some tins had the coupons some didn't. Had no problem using both coupons, surprisingly at the regular Target which usually gives me tons of issues!

I got these the last time you posted them at such a steal! Thanks. It was a nice smell - I just found though that they burned out real quick.

You can get it for free at Walmart if you get the soy candle 4.9oz since walmart sells it for 3 dollars and use the 3 dollars off and its free.

16 coupons available to me in my zip and 39 when I enter 90210. What the heck?

what is this $3 off coupon? Where is it from? Thanks :)

I found a $2 off 2 Glade candles coupon in the Glade candle holder I bought back from the CVS deal a few weeks ago. Buy 2 tins, get $2 off, so they are 66 cents each and use 2 coupons for the free refills. A tin and refill for 66 cents - not bad!

If there no coupons in the tins, check the refills. i didn't find any in my tins either, but -- in the top of the refills boxes, there were folded up pieces of paper, with coupons for $2 off the tins. There were no coupons in the refill boxes that had a bonus candle (3+1), just the normal-sized boxes.

You should be able to see if the paper is in the boxes without openeing them, by holding them up and looking in the "window" in the front of the box.

Tins at my Target have been cleaned out, but at $1.66 a tin, it's still a good deal. Esp since the refills are only $2.50 right now at my Target, but the cashier last night rang the coupon up for the max amount, $3.49! So the tin + refill was around a buck.
Note: I never have good luck with the cashiers at Target, I attribute last night's luck to the fact that I ran into another hip2save-er in the aisles! :D

I don't think people are taking the coupons; the manufacturer doesn't include coupons in *every* production run. They wouldn't be making much money if they included a practically free coupon in every tin. Also, if you noticed, the last time this deal was posted the expiration date was in the fall (don't remember the exact month), now if you are lucky enough to find coupons, they expire in December 2009.

Elise, the reason you couldn't use the free refill and the $1.50 coupon at Target is because the computer automatically applies the $1.50 to the refill, not the tin. The free refill then comes up "not found." Try giving the cashier the refill coupon first.

On another coupon theft note, I think my CVS was stealing the coupons from the refills. I did the Glade deal, and I noticed *every* refill box was sliced open (as with a razor blade). Can't imagine a customer would have done that. I bought them and didn't think a thing about it--til I bought a refill at Target that had a coupon. Mine was for $2 off a candle holder and buy 2, get 1 refill free.

Hi Erin -- i agree with you that i think customers don't (usually) take all the coupons, but Ebay sellers do. i've noticed peelies stripped from the adhesive backing on all the cereal boxes at the store and sure enough if i check ebay, there are peelie coupons for sale for that brand, that color peelie, and what do you know, the seller is from my area!

Other times i do wonder if the stores take them off so they don't have to worry about sending in for as much reimbursement.

i can't decide if it's problematic or not though (regarding ebay sellers stripping coupons). So many people would just toss the coupons with the packages that the ebay sellers (possibly) taking them may actually help ensure more coupons are available to couponers (for a fee, of course :) ) . But it is a hassle for those of us who just want one or two and get there to find the coupons gone already.

It makes me so mad that people do this. I went to Kmart for the doubles and every candle was opened. I don't know if they took the coupons or not, but there were non there. Also, someone took all the peelies off some of the cleaning products that were free.

WHY!

I've done this three times this week! Thanks Hip to Save!

For some reason the free refill coupon always beeps that the item isn't there, but they push it through.

Also, the large Glade Soy candles are clearanced to $4.49. Use one of the $3 off one Glade Fragrance Collection to get these for $1.49!

erin i was gonna ask the question about which order, so thank you! rbabe1 thanks for the tip!

Stores are not supposed to take out those coupons from the candles, They are put there by the manufacturer and intended for the person who is buying the product. They have no right to tamper with it. Besides why should they care? They will get money back from manufacturer.

I was completely surprised and saddened the first time I checked ebay for some coupons and found that people were selling peelies off products that they probably didn't even purchase...Whatever happened to being honest???? I guess some people will do anything to make a buck...

On another note, I noticed at Wal-Mart today, they had coupons in the clear Glade candle holders-they were right next to the Glade tins. Also some of the tins had coupons in them, and some didn't.

I FOUND THEM!!!! I was so excited to find the coupon in the little tin. I even had 2 BOGO Q for the refills. It was funny my mom was very skeptical about the 2 Q things so I had to pay first. But once again the couponer shall prevail! Thanks guys!!!!

Tara, the order of coupons doesn't *really* matter. I gave mine to the cashier in order and she used the refill last because the price didn't come up immediately; however, she could tell by the coupons and items what had happened and pushed it through. If there's an issue, just explain what each coupon is for and you should be fine.

On another note, I just came from Target, where I wanted to get a tin and refill (actually have 3 more refill coupons, but I prefer to not use them in one order, which could cause the ubiquitous Target coupon issues), and the tins were totally wiped out! I was surprised. I don't usually have problems finding things, but I guess everyone knows about this deal. Strangely enough, there was a coupon discarded on the shelf. Last week, I ran into a woman in a Richmond store opening tins looking for coupons, too.

Can't believe people sell peelies on eBay! Personally, I won't buy coupons. If I want more than one, I buy a complete paper (at $2!) to support our newspapers.

I didn't think I'd ever purchase coupons on e-bay, until I found out that some coupons are regional.

I tried printing the Glade refill coupon from redplum.com and it printed without a barcode. This has never happened before! I did try taking it to Target but, as expected, they couldn't accept without a barcode. Anyone else having this problem?

Got mine today! There were plenty in stock and all of them had coupons inside. They smell fantastic! Thanks so much!

I got mine today! Two tins and two refill packs for a grand total of 32 cents! Absolutely amazing! I am so fortunate to have experienced only nice cashiers...mine today actually was training a new person, so hopefully he'll follow her lead with coupons! I did have to search through the tins though to find ones with coupons.

Thank you Hip2Save!

Betsy said...

Oh and I think the potential problem might be if they scan the $1.50/1 coupon first, they apply it to the refill and then won't let you use the refill coupon. Try putting the refill coupons on top so they get scanned first. Just a thought!

At my store in Belton, MO the candles and refills are on sale for $2.50. I found 2 with $1.50 coupons inside. So I bought 2 candles and 2 refill packs for a total of $2, still a great deal.

Ive bought coupons from ebay, but i wont buy the smartsource blinkies or the peelies. I also am pro ebay on regional coupons. I wish they would just send everyone the same coupons, but what would only be in a perfect world!

How long are the candles on sale for? It's seems like whenever there is a deal posted, by the time I get down to the Target, the sale has changed or our Target just has different prices anyways.

Anonymous said...

I thought my Target in N. CA didn't have them on sale, but I checked the price and they were! I was able to get 2 candles and refills for 32 cents.

At my Target in Wentzville Missouri someone opened all the Glade candle tins (except for two) and took out the coupons. Come on people, if you are not buying them, then do not take the coupon. At least they could of put the lids on all the way, how rude. I was nice enough to clean up their mess will my two kiddo's watched.

The sale wasn't advertised in S.F. Bay Area, CA, but they are on sale for $1.69 - I was able to score one last night.
