When do you get the rebate/money back, is it automatic or do you have to request it, and are you essentially paying sales tax?
We have had nothing but trouble with the Max Perks program. Don't buy these items unless you can afford to not get credited for them as they are really not reliable.
is like the cvs extra bucks??
No-you have to sign up in the store. Problem is that management doesn't know how it works and it is very difficult to redeem the rewards Also the online management of it is a mess. It will tell you that you have rewards when you don't. My husband and I will no longer shop at Office Max because of the fiasco that occurred last time we tried to redeem our rewards. Very bad for business.
On a little more positive note, if you live in teh Charleston, SC area, there was a 20% off your purchase coupon/flyer in this Sunday's Post and Courier.
