One More Fannie May Deal Update!

I hope you all aren't getting sick of these Fannie May posts, but I have some positive news! A reader just emailed to let me know that she received this email from Fannie May:

"Thank you for contacting us regarding the incorrect charge to your account. We have been made aware of the system error and are in the process of correcting all orders affected. You will only be charged the amount you were given in your order confirmation. Please contact us via email or at 1-800-333-3629 if you have any further questions."

If you haven't canceled your order yet, then I would hold off on doing so!

I JUST cancelled my order....that stinks!

I canceled too! What a bummer!

Anonymous said...

You are awesome for following up on this for us. That's great they can honor the original amounts. I'll enjoy the candy. For those that cancelled already, your waistlines will be smaller than ours. Your blog is so much fun.

Anonymous said...

Yeah! I had not cancelled mine yet - I was waiting for tomorrow. It was a present for someone else so I am so glad to hear they honored their original confirmation.

Katie said...

I emailed them too and got that same response!

Guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I got the same exact email response as well. I sure hope that everything works out in the end.

I sent an email to Fannie Mae and told tham to cancel my order if they were going to charge shipping and handling. The lady assured me they are correcting the orders and will not add any additional charge for shipping and handling. That is good news.

see it pays to be patient! I think we all tend to react so quickly to things...

I was just on the site and code 10575 works for $15 off if the item is in stock, which for the halloween & thanksgiving candies aren't. But, I think they must have just added the Christmas ones because I have been ordering them for like the last 5 min over and over for a total of $-.76 (for the santa & snowmen ones) it will be a positive $.24 if you want the presents one. I've been saving all my confirmations incase they try to charge me. Hope others can enjoy the same deal :)

You have to change shipping to the standard option.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Jenelle! I ordered a few more!!

Jaime said...

Jenelle- Thank you for that post! I got some this time. Perfect. Thanks! I got the Presents bag because it is $1 more and will not result in a negative amount, which hopefully will keep it from causing issues. :)

Anonymous said...

Yes, I placed three orders total. I hope it all works.

Anonymous said...

I called customer service three times. I was ready to cancel on that last call and after being on hold for ages she told me the same thing. My orders will be charged the same amount as my order confirmation. Sweet!

Anonymous said...

Thanks! I just ordered a few presents packs!!! I know what the bus drivers & mailman & trash guys are gettin for Xmas this year!! Whoo Hoo!

TeRetta said...

I was just getting ready to post this. I called, and the representative told me the same thing!

Check out the Christmas Petite Gift Box!

Anonymous said...

Can you order as many times as you want? If so, you just use the same credit card number/name and everything and it doesn't question you? It's not a one per person using the code? TIA

Yes, I keep waiting for a phone call from my credit card suspecting "fraudalent spending". They've called over less strange things before. I wonder how many of us will be getting those calls "did you spend .24 several times at Fannie May?"

Not to complain, but I almost wish I had asked to have these delivered later....much later. They are at risk of being discovered and eaten by my family if they come at the end of October as it said. I'll have to come up with a good hiding place. I hope all of my six orders come!

Jenelle said...

Jame, I really like the Petite Gift Box as well, order another 6 of those too. I am planning on gifting all of these (if I get them). I thought about having them delivered later, but didn't want to chance not getting them.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Jenelle and Jamie! I ordered a whole ton but as gifts also! Hopefully I'll get these and all of my kiddo's coaches/teachers/scout leaders/CCD volunteers, etc. will get a tasty holiday treat. I counted 22 people we give these little "token" treats to during the holidays. I hope these come! I've got confirmation emails on all of them!!!

i missed the whole deal....now im really disappointed.

Anonymous said...

I'm in Indiana and here I'm having to pay sales tax on all of these which is making the santas and snowmen and petite boxes all $.24 which I'm actually liking because that way I don't have a negative balance. I'm thinking that way I might actually get what I've ordered. I really hope these come but I'm thinking I may have to give one to the UPS driver for having to deliver so many little packages!

I'm surprised that this deal is still up - why haven't they taken down the coupon code? I have four orders, all of which I paid something for (albeit not much)...I don't want to entirely rip off the company!

It just seems strange that the code is still working, even though they've gotten enough calls and emails that I'm sure they know what is going on...?

Jenelle said...

My guess is that no one is at work to catch this right now. I have a feeling it will be working until they get in and realize they have a bunch of orders for $-.76 then it will be dead, just like earlier today with the halloween/thanksgiving deal.

Emily (Laundry and Lullabies) said...

But why didn't they take down the whole code, why just the halloween/thanksgiving candy? I'm just wondering why they'll give me a pound of fudge for $3 shipped. :)

they have the Halloween and Thanksgiving candy as sold out on their site...maybe they just forgot about Christmas???... =)

Mei said...

I bought one of the gift boxes and one of the bags. Thanks for the links!

Do you guys feel weird making more than one order with the same code? I was like grappling with my conscience... lol. I did two, obvs.

Anonymous said...

yes conscience was tested...and yes i did feel a bit weird as first...but since i am giving it all as gifts and it will make others happy...i got over that quickly =)

Jaime said...

Actually, the Christmas stuff was not available earlier in the day. It wasn't until after the Halloween/Tday stuff sold out and the whole coupon overcharging issue got handled that the christmas stuff showed up as available.

So... I'm not sure what to think of it all. I ordered mostly the Xmas candies for.24 but UI did get a few of the little boxes for -.76. I just don't know how they will be able to do that but I will try. My Amex rep said is would be very easy to dispute a charge if it came up as incorrect, so I am going to give it a shot since I have all the receipts. That's what my interest goes for, right? :)

as of 1 a.m. eastern standard time, code 10575 is still working to take off $15...and it IS being deducted from shipping. So there so called "glitch" never got corrected. I've ordered 4 seperate orders throughout the day with no problems.

Anonymous said...

Don't you think 20 is a little excessive? I wonder if all of our orders will get canceled thanks to those of you who have totally abused this deal. Why would they want to send 20 FREE chocolates packages to one person?

I agree, free/cheap is great, but there has to be a limit where you have to ask yourself, do I really need all of this even if it is a great deal? One is great, even 5 is ok, but more than that well...looks like a problem.

Amanda said...

I have a question regarding deals like this one. If the company is allowing people to make more than one purchase what is the acceptable etiquette? I don't see the harm in making multiple purchases but I see several others do. Any thoughts?

CouponClary said...

I just placed 2 orders for the mini-chocolate Santas...what great gifts to go along with a gift card for my son's teachers! Hope it goes through, my total was -76 cents, but it was worth a try (9:30 AM/Wednesday). If they are aware of the code and are still accepting it, I think it is fair, although I certainly don't expect them to pay me! As for ordering more than just a couple...that's a bit excessive!

Mei said...

I know, Amanda! I would love to hear some people's thoughts as well. I can't think of another time where I have had a code that made a purchase close to free online, and that could be used multiple times.

I asked myself about how much candy I needed, too! Gift season makes it a lot trickier, though.

MommySpendsLess (Learning2CouponFL) said...

Amanda,

I think every person has to evaluate the ethics of each deal on their own. I know we won't all agree but I'm hoping we can respect each other's reasons.

In this case, I believe it was a technical error on their part. I'm surprised (and impressed) that they are planning to fulfill the orders that were placed yesterday at the price promised. When another company had a great deal caused by combining an online gift code with a free-with-purchase promotion they canceled the free items.

Personally, I won't be placing any more orders today for several reasons.

First, it seems kind of like taking advantage of them to place a bunch of extra orders just because they agreed to honor the first ones. It's almost like punishing them for upholding the promotion, know what I mean?

On the flip side since they're clearly aware of it, they should have pulled the codes, but I don't know if that's something customer service can do or if another department has to act on that.

Second, they might be willing to take the hit on the orders that were placed yesterday and go ahead and send out the free products but if they get hundreds more today then they might decide to cancel all orders.

Third, I don't want to deal with the hassle if the refunds don't work out as promised. It's one thing to be out $7-$20 while resolving issues but it's another to be out $400.

Thank you andrea :)

Amanda,

I too do not see harm in making multiple purchases. If you plan on giving these as gifts, as I do,in essence all we are doing is sharing this deal with others...just as this site helps us to do.I have a long list of gifts to give this holiday season and very limited funds, as my significant other just lost his job. This deal really helps with that. I do hope they fix this glitch soon though and maybe it will help the company in the future when posting such promotion...I agree with Mommy Spends Less...the "etiquette" question is one we each need to find within ourselves...

Anonymous said...

don't order anymore,,,, i just had to cancel my 3 orders, i was being charged $9.24 per order.

Anonymous said...

so was i, but they are refunding all incorrect charges...it currently shows as just pending on my card...they have not actually charged the $9.24...

Andrea A. said...

They told me they were having a problem with the 10575 code last night when I called. That the order will show up on cc or bank as higher amount but it is only pending and that you will only be charged the amount that was on your receipt. I hope they fix the credits to my account soon!

How many should you order on deals like this? I say we leave to each person to decide for themselves. If you have to ask then you have probably ordered enough.

That being said these will make great christmas presents!

Oh and once you order something you have entered a legal and binding contract. Unless it says they can cancel an order for any reason then they are stuck legally. My point is if they didn't want this to be done anymore they would have pulled the code just like the $25. That didn't last long. They could have taken down sight all kinds of things to fix this once they were made aware of it yesterday during normal business hours. They will just claim it all as a loss this year on taxes.

Maybe they needed to show loss on their taxes?

Anyway that's my 2c worth.

WHAT ARE THE ITEM #'s for the snowmen and santa chocolates and the christmas petite gift boxes? I don't see any of them.

Andrea A. said...

I was wondering that as well Savvy Chic?

Anonymous said...

Looks like the $15 code is still working but they took off all the inexpensive stuff. all the little santa, snowmen chocolates are gone and the other stuff says sold out.

Anonymous said...

So a special thanks to all those that ordered extreme amounts and the ruined the deal for everyone else!

Amanda said...

Thanks for all of the great responses!! I am new to couponing and it's always great to hear other thoughts. I think it is very important to shop with integrity. If we all do that than hopefully these great deals will keep coming. Thanks everyone!

andrea said...

anon 9:15 - they probably just sold out! no one ruined the deal for anyone...

Anonymous said...

then it would say sold out, andrea.

andrea said...

even then...i don't think anyone ruined this deal for anyone else...i think they made a mistake on their and did not fix it despite the situation yesterday and some people had the opportunity to "benefit" from this more than others...sorry if you missed out...

Anonymous said...

ok greedy.

andrea said...

i wouldn't call it greedy if you plan on sharing what you are getting with this deal with others...say what you want...i don't care...all you are is an anonymous person...i didn't even order until late last night! You had plenty of opportunity to partake on this deal...again...sorry you missed out, but that is no one's fault but your own. As MommySpendsLess said.. "I think every person has to evaluate the ethics of each deal on their own"...I really don't think there is a need for name calling...

Andrea A. said...

I agree with Andrea. There is no need for name calling. It just hurts people. If one person ordered 50 and I didn't get any I would say yeah to them. It stinks when you miss out on a deal. Then again people that did not cancel their orders were taking a chance. I ordered a few for friends and family. I have been overcharged so far for all but 1. I am having to keep an eye on fannie may and my card. I ordered something on ebay that will either have to paid for some other way or they will have to wait due to all of the errors on my card. So........I am sorry for all of those who did not get the deal. I am still waiting to see if we actually get our product.

Please everyone play nice or go play in your own sandbox mine is full!!

(((((Collin)))) for all of your hard work.

andrea said...

Thanks for the back-up Andrea A. (I'm an Andrea A. as well actually..haha) My card was also charged incorrectly, and that was a risk I was willing to take...I do think we will get the products we each ordered...and I do think that they will fix all of the card errors...if may just take a bit more time than it would normally!

I love the sandbox line!!! =) Well said!

Anonymous said...

Just like everyone else here, we are all allowed to have our own opinions. When a great offer comes our way and it is abused, then it will not come again. Common sense, ladies.

andrea said...

No one said anything about anyone stating their opinions...the "greedy" name calling was just a bit uncalled.

and actually, I would hope that this particular deal from this particular company doesn't happen this way again, and that from this they may get a better handle on how to handle their promotional codes...why would a deal that occurred because of a "glitch" happen again...?!

Anonymous said...

and my opinion is that you are greedy. no need to comment again and have the last word. move on.

Andrea A. said...

I use the sandbox all the time. When I am in a bad mood or grouchy I tell my hubbie and son to go play in their own sandbox. Less fighting that way. I get my toys. They get theirs. Everyone is happy. When we are all agreeable we play nice in the sandbox together.

Andrea you can use the special castle pieces while you are in my sandbox ;-)!!

Anonymous said...

In a childlike voice "NO, I get the last word!". I am so kidding by the way. I wasn't involved in said scuffle with the "g" word. I'm watching the news to see if Fanny May is going bankrupt.

andrea said...

thanks again, andrea a...glad to see that some of us can play nice.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous with the "g" word is a hoot! "You don't get the last word, I do!" Funny stuff! This is almost as good as gum! By gum it's gum! Anyway, I guess we all do need to examine our values when we find a deal like this. I don't really know what happened over at Fannie May but I'm thinking they must have known about this glitch because of everything that happened yesterday with the original leaves and pumpkin balls and truffles----all of which I missed out on because I was busy packing away my kids' summer clothes. I did order quite a few bags/boxes last night as gifts for all my kids' coaches, teachers, volunteers, etc. I decided that if Fannie May didn't want to honor them, I'd only be out my time and a few sheets of paper I used to print my receipts. As to the people who think it is okay to get two but not 102, how so? If it is wrong then it is wrong. You are not right for taking less----if you think it is stealing or whatever then you stole too unless you ordered none. I don't get how you are oh so noble for only taking 5 or whatever. I am likening this deal to all of the free Kraft BBQ sauce and 8 cent salad dressing I got this summer. I took advantage of a great deal! Like H2S says, we were doing nothing wrong. We didn't hack or cheat the system and Fannie May can fulfill our orders or cancel if it was a mistake---like those Britax carseats! Just my 2 cents---or actually 24 cents apiece!

Andrea A. said...

Anon 12:38

You have a very healthy attitude towards life. I like the way you put it.

If you did order 50 for just yourself all I have to say is pace yourself!!!

Andrea A. said...

Oh and I want some gum!! ROFLMAO! You made my day. Right up there with those stupid youtube videos people post on facebook! ((()))

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Andrea! These noble people who only ordered 2 or 5 or whatever are probably the same people who have 10 email addresses or computers or whatever to print extra Qs. I ordered many chocolates----all of which are going out as gifts except for 1---thought I had three extra but realized two people I forgot-----but only have one email address and one computer. Does that make me more right or wrong than the people who ordered 5 but have 10 email addresses? Or those who ordered two but have 4 computers and three email address apiece? Or those who.............Hee-hee-hee. Chomp, chew, snap, smack! Mmmmm, gum!

Leah said...

SCORE! SO glad I didn't cancel my orders.

Anonymous said...

!!! wow !!!

I'm with anon on this one. It is simply about not taking advantage of a good deal because, if we do, then we may not see it again. And I want the deals to keep a coming!! :)

I know I started getting out of control at the grocery store wanting to buy the entire stock until it dawned on me that it's best to stay modest and get only a few at a time that way it won't send a red flag and scare either the store or the company into not giving or letting us use our coupons. But, that's just me.

Can't wait to eat a chocolate leaf!! mmmmmm....

Luv u Hip!!

I usually limit myself buying products like 1-5qty.of the same item in a transaction. Depends on how much i use the product. But during a week i'll go back and do other transaction like a tuesday then a friday. I dislike when there is no products in stock. I think its nice to give the chance for others to buy the stuff too. :) happy savings everyone!

I just called customer service to check the status of my 1 order. They said, I'd ordered it on Tues. it was shipped on Wed. and it should be received on Friday. I asked about the price (.05cents) not showing up on my credit card statement yet. He said, "Everything is current and it shows you don't owe anything, I don't know why though". I'll keep checking my cc account to make sure I'm not charged the full shipping price.
