does this work at Vons too? We don''t have Safeway in CA?
How did you find this out? I live in the Chicago area so would it apply to Dominicks since they are a Safeway chain? I hope so!
I wish we had a safeway here in NC too. We miss so many good deals. :-(
I wish Vons doubled coupons here in CA. It's not worth it to shop there. Everything is soooo expensive!
i got a safeway coupon booklet a few weeks back. Though the coupons states MQ, it has 'Safeway' written on it. I don't have one near me so can I use those coupons in Walmart/Target?
Don't be jealous...you don't know the REAL truth! In Oregon and Washington, We have safeways nearby, but its one of the highest cost stores around along with Fred Meyer and Albertsons. They have great quality, but prices are not as good as other stores (like Target, Walmart or Winco's), unless you hit the Safeway sales or coupons. But then they require you (fine print on the coupons) to spend min of $20 to qualify for the coupons! Not a good deal unless you have A LOT of coupon shopping to do, which I like to only go for the sale items or coupon items, which counts me out, since they don't always come up to $20. But when it does its nice. But if you want to save....not exactly.
I've been able to get some of my best historical deals at SW...love it! Yeah, their prices are high, but if you play your cards right there is a lot of money to be made! :0)
FIFSTER33 ... when they have the $20 minimum purchase that is BEFORE coupons and club card savings. So it is SUPER easy to get to $20. HTH
AMY
Where in Ca do you live my all three Vons in my area double coupon up to a full dollar so $0.75 doubes to a dollar off?
BTW our store make you spend the $20 or %0 after all coupons and club prices we actually have to pay the full amount or more to get the deals
Safeway is one of the most expensive grocery stores in my area too but now, after learning how to shop the sales I shop exclusively there! Supercoupons minimums are calculated before discount so it is really easy to get up to the $20 without really spending $20. I average $30 a week and usually my savings is >75% of total (although true, I would never have paid full price). Looking forward to this Kohls deal! There is a supercoupon for $17.99 huggies (big box) so that will help get up there and the price isn't bad after $1.50 shortcuts and $2 internet printable coupons.
Does this work at Randall's???
Wow, that stinks that some of you have to get to $20 after coupons...using regular prices it's very easy to get up to that and then watch it drop way down once you swipe your card and hand over your coupons! :) The only problem I have is getting catalinas to print! :( Rarely works! They are helpful if it's advertised but a lot of them are ones that I've only read about on a blog and have no way to show them that it SHOULD'VE printed! :( This is the best one I've seen yet! Yahooo! :)
My Safeway is just 20 minutes away, and I agree both ways. It IS expensive..but you can find a deal. And most times I'm really looking to do the in store Q with the manufacturer Q. I don't shop there very often, but have googled how to make a great deal. It is possible..but I don't know..I think I like the Target/Walmart/Walgreen deals better.
There is a good coupon from Safeway I have now. $1.99 ea. for 32.oz (limit 2) International Delight coffee creamer which my hubby loves. Expires today and I just don't feel like running there lol. There has been deals on cans of say Pepsi in the cans (24 pack? I think lol). Buy 2 get 2 or even 3 free. Still a good deal even though they want $6.99 each. You just have to check and watch for the deals.
I was wondering if this works at randalls too?...Do you guys know if the Kohls Cash is actually worth $10 or do you have to spend like $50 dollars to get $10 Kohls cash off? ( Like gymboree? )
Thanks Anonymous for the Huggies deal headsup. I forgot about that and now with this deal I think I will do that. Safeway has definitely had their deals you just have to fight for them (in my experiences). This might also be a good time to use any "free" coupons you might have to get your total up;)
Looking on safeway's site to see if there is a safeway within driving distance from us and their "find a store" site stinks. Anyone know if there is one near North AL/ South TN or North MS?
Thanks!!!!
I'd love to know if this works at Vons as well as Safeway. Is there a direct link to this promotion? Where did you hear about it?
HTH
Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding the minimum purchase for coupons at your local Safeway store.
Here is the following policy as you asked for:
What does "minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required" mean?
To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item's regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
If you are using several store coupons in a shopping trip, you will only need to meet one minimum purchase requirement. For example, if you are using three coupons, and they each specify a minimum purchase requirement of $20, your minimum purchase requirement for the total shopping trip is $20, and not $60.
If you would like to discuss this further, please reply to this email or call our toll free number at 1-877-723-3929 and reference contact I.D. 15702216. One of our associates will be happy to assist you.
We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for shopping at Safeway.
Sincerely,
Cassie Hartley

Thanks Amy, that was really helpful. I intend on keeping a copy in my binder. Definitely good to know!
Also, I contacted Safeway CS about using Walgreens RR's at their stores and they responded by giving me an individual answer for both stores that I frequent (one was yes, the other no) I was so excited to get that news. For those of you that live near both safeway and Walgreens, it can't hurt to email Safeway and ask if you can use RR's at your local store, just be sure to include which local Safeway you shop in your email request.
Ok, so any news if this works at Vons, Randalls, etc???
My safeway said that it was only for California and they were not anypart of this deal. 8(
I live in AZ and I just called my Safeway and they are paticipating in this, but starting on the 8th.
Here in CO our Safeway store said they know absolutely nothing about this!!!?
I was disappointed after trying to spend just enough to get a Kohl's coupon :(
