I have a Nivea question. I have one coupon that says buy 1 get 1 free. I have another coupon that says free lotion when you buy 3 nivea lip products.

Do you think I could buy just three nivea lip products, and use both the buy 1 get 1 free, and the free lotion coupon? Or will I need to buy 2 for the buy 1 get 1 free, and 3 additional lip products for the free lotion coupon?

Liz...IMO you should be able to use both, but it is a bit of a YMMV.

I have used both at a Fry's Grocery store. I did choose a cashier that looked like she didn't know what was going on....

Any advise??

Tomorrow (Sunday) I will do my very first run to Walgreens early while the pickins' are good??

I have gone on Monday, and got a few deals..any later than that and everything is gone.

My hope and maybe even a question is everyone that goes on Sunday morning when they open..do you have a bad hassle of being overwhelmed by other early shoppers hoping to snag every deal off the shelf?

I'm risking it...getting up at 6:30 and off for my paper..then a 30 minute drive while my family sleeps to be at Walgreens before they open. I just don't want to go through all that only to find the "pros" have mapped out their run and I get nothing lol.

Has anyone had lots of trouble at your Walgreens at opening on Sunday? I just need a boost to know its all worth it lol.

Amber said...

I always try to go by noon on Sunday. I find that after that most of the deals are gone. I also always go to the cosmetic counter to ring up so that I don't have to worry about holding up a line. I have a girl that regularly rings me up and that helps. She LOVES to see my deals!

I saw what liz said about using both. I went one time to get gillette. I got a deo get a body wash free. I did it once and was able to use the 1.00 off at the same time and got both for 2.00 but then I tried again with the other 2 coupons and the cashier wouldnt let me. she said you cant use both on one deo. I am going to try and use both on 3 but if not I will have to get alot. sigh. but its a good deal anyway. I should have went then posted..Im still learning

One other thing.... Did anyone else notice you can get a Sunday oregonian on Saturday? Plus has anyone noticed that there isnt as many coupons in it?

Anonymous said...

I plan on price matching the Nivea lip balm at Walmart if our Walgreens is out. I know our Walgreens does not stock that many of this product.

Anonymous said...

Could not get the coupon to print but have to tell you that when/if you encounter this situation, just email the company, usually there is a 'contact us' at the bottom of the home page and tell them briefly what you were trying do and they may send you a coupon well compensating you for the whole cost of the item, etc. This happened w/me for a Jell-O pudding snack product. I was trying to get a .60 coupon to print, I believe that was the amount and emailed the company...what did I get in the mail? A coupon good toward anything Jell-O and the like for up to $3.51 off. Pretty good!

Jessica said...

My Walgreens now takes the WAg coupon first then the manufactures :( And they won't stack them, and the WAG coupons count four times if you use one coupon on four items, so I am just venting my sadness.
Does anyone know if this is just my store or if it is everywhere?
Thanks, Jess

In the 10/11 RP there is also a coupon for $2 off any Ecotrin... use that with the in ad coupon for $1.99

BrittBritt said...

Does anyone know if there will be coupon inserts in tomorrows paper. I saw were hip2save posted some deals and said use the 11/29 PG coupon, but I didn't think there would be any inserts tomorrow. HELP??!!

SaraJC said...

Yes Britt. There will be P&G inserts tomorrow. Im waiting for the Gillete Fusion coupons for tomorrows deals =]

Jessica
My store also takes the wag coupons before manufac if they know you have them. The cashier has been asking for any store coupons first. I feel your sadness!

for the coloring book coupons, do they keep the coupon, or can you use it again in a future transaction?

Becca said...

Can we get free dove bar soap..It's on sale for $.99 w. in ad coupon. Then can we combine it with the $1 off dove face care coupon?

Anonymous said...

i have checked 4 ajc papers...with no inserts!!!!!! GRRRR!

*~*~*Bargain Blessings*~*~* said...

Brea...my stores let me keep my CAB coupons. I just fold the book for them instead of ripping them out.

*~*~*Bargain Blessings*~*~* said...

Heads up...for those of you in short ad areas, we got left out of some of the best deals this week.

Anonymous said...

Brea, i used a coloring book coupon this morning and asked for them back and then used them again in the next transaction, no prob. But then I went to another wags and the girl told me she couldn't give me coupons back. I told her I always get them back so she gave them back but she looked ticked about it.

Anonymous said...

FYI if you do not have the manufacture Qs for the band aids: I did a transaction with nothing but 2 band aids, used the WAGS coloring book coupon and owed $0!!! Then got back a $1 reward. I did that 2 times at 2 different Wags. Had a great Wags day: spent $3 got back $21 RR. Yippee!!!

Anonymous said...

Also more FYI: The zooth Qs are beeping. The manager examined it for several minutes before finally allowing it.

CJ said...

Becca - I've used the $1 Dove face product coupon with the Wags .99 in ad coupon for the bar soap twice before, no problem either time.
I usually go to Wags around 6am on Sundays - items are usually in stock and there's no one else in the store so I don't feel rushed at the register in case there's a coupon issue.

trash2cash4u said...

I am in North MS and we must not have as many couponers here -- LOL. I try to go early in the week, but it is helpful to know when the trucks arrive later in the week in case you can't go on Sunday or Monday.

Anonymous said...

I was able to get a B1G1 package of Complete eye care for the $7.99 -$1 coupon and earned $8RR. I immediately went back to grab another one and they had taken them off the shelves :)

The Advantage coupons - $7 and $10 - did cause the cashiers to call the manager at both stores. They did approve them - but they don't just ring up - they have to key in the $$ off.

They did also ask for the store coupons first...but then just did the first couple and didn't see the Ecotrin in-store coupon - until I pointed it out AFTER they keyed in the mfr coupons. I do think that there might be a Store notice out for cashiers to look.

When I only owed the tax after buying 5 Ectrin, honey, Complete solution and using $6 RR - she was confused. I quickly paid and got OUT!

Great day at Wags.

joanne w said...

i got a B1G1 complete contact lens solution too. so 2 for free after the $7.99 RR....yippee...i was just running out too!!!!

can i buy the sense n spray and the two glade candles in one transaction and get both register rewards printed for them?

Liz- U should be able to buy 4 Niveas use 2 bogo qs and the lotion q as well. I mean if you're gonna buy 3 u might as well get one more for free with the q. I was able to do this at Rite Aid a few weeks back when the Nivea was on sale with no problems. Good luck!

holly said...

I didnt try it liz but what I do know is to check your reciepts. I had paid $30 instead of 2.00 I checked my reciept and the cashier had credited me .99 for the lotion when it was 7.49 plus i caught her giving me the body wash free (2.99) on the olay buy body get lotio. I told her it was for free lotion not body wash...she said "oh" and I got credited 8.99 (get the biggest bottle) she needs to read the coupons and pay attention. Now that I had to go to the manager he said "let me get a calculator" i told him I had one and he said something about needing to go to the back...ok. He comes back and tells me "just to let you know in the future we may be limiting purchases" all because of the stupid cashier now I may have to go to a different walgreens. The total refund was 26.00 if i hadnt checked my reciept i wouldnt have noticed it. oh and check your reciept before you leave the store. so the transaction is fresh and less hassle (they will still have it in the register and they still have your coupons.)

Michelle, WA said...

I got today from ad buy the Olay Quench lotion for $7.99 get free Olay in shower lotion, used coupon from todays PG insert "buy any olay body wash get a free Olay lotion- which the Olay body was is only $2.99 on sale my store, coupon deducted the $7.99 for lotion and in shower lotion deducts automatically when its rings up. All 3 for $2.99, not free but cheap!!

Liz said...

Anybody else get the coupon inserts, I think P & G? Maybe it's just me, but they seemed low. .35 cents off a tide, usually it is 50 cents to one dollar. The other coupons seemed low as well.

Anonymous said...

charmin had a 25 cents off. I usually use 50 cents or me.

Anonymous said...

P&G Q so low, I only clipped three out. Will file the rest away, but imagine that they will never be used. I wouldn't buy a paper to get them.

holly said...

michelle...i thought about that one for a minute but wasnt sure it would work. i guess it did. Ill have to do that. i got the coupon yesterday in the oregonian. i get it at walgreens on sat. i get the statesman today....the salem area paper. i will get another one of those bogo but i will have to go to another walgreens..hheee

Just got back from my Walgreens - my favorite cashier was working - yay. My Ecotrin coupon beeped ($10/3) but she pushed it through.

Anonymous said...

I live in a short ad area, any idea of the deals will still work? I was really wanting the band aids and kids toothpaste.. anyone in UT tried it?

Jen said...

My Wags in the Pac NW would only let me use one $1/1 Zooth since they say "One Per Purchase" they only realized that since all of the Zooth coupons were beeping (though I tried to explain "purchase" implies item not "transaction" but they didn't listen). I still came out with free toothbrushes + tax (no MM). My store is generally VERY coupon friendly.

Jen said...

Also on the Quaker Pancake mix there were $2/1 coupons that I printed sometime over the summer (I think) and hadn't used (due to lack of a good sale here) that makes them a $1 MM wyb 2 :)

Anonymous said...

Jen, I was just coming to post on the pancake mix coupons. You beat me to it. :)

I am glad I hung on to them!

Anonymous said...

Jen,
I had the same problem with the Zooth Qs. The cashier said I could only use 1 since it said 1 per purchase. I told him i was purchasing 4. he said no I could only use 1 but he had to get a manager since the coupons were beeping and the manager told him i could use all 4.

Anonymous said...

Just a heads up....if you haven't bought the Nivea Lip Balm yet you may be out of luck. I had to go to 4 different stores to find some. It was worth it for the great deal though.

Anonymous said...

I'm not surprised Nivea was hard to find. One person bought 20!

SaraJC said...

$7/2 Ecotrin coupon beeped and cashier only punched in the original price of one ecotrin.. I sent my hubby to help me on some of the deals. He went back so they could fix the mistake. Poor hubby lol!! He said he would never use coupons again lol After a couple minutes he calmed down since after all the hassle we did get great deals. =]
By the way, the zooth & oral-b coupons beeped. 1 didnt, but the other 3 did. They manually punched them in =]

Anonymous said...

Hey Holly! I was going to post that about the solution too. Ya beat me to it. Just got back from picking that up too!

UPDATE ON THE Deal Scenario for the 2 Quaker Oat granola bar deal:

That RP q online is for ONLY the Fiber & Omega3 bars and the True Delights. NOT FOR the bars on sale.
I found out this morning before I bought it. Read the q. before buying and it specifically states for ONLY these 2 types. Noooo.
And the insert one I have is only 75c/2 not $1/2. Oh well, still not a bad deal!! Just got to bring those next visit. lol

Cannot get the Village Naturals Coupon to print. Tried it from several different computers/printers. Emailed company.

Also, I didn't get a P&G insert in my paper yesterday. Anyone know how I could get a hold of it elsewhere?

I had a problem at my WAG's today. I was doing the glade deals, and the cosmetics cashier was so nice, let me do I think 5 transactions, all producing a $1 reward. I had a $5 reward from the dayquil at another WAGs earlier in the day. So anyways. i then did a transaction where I got the Gillet fusion razor, all the olay products (which beeped, but she pushed it through) and then 8 russel stover candies. I had a MFR coupon for the razor, a MFR coupon for the Olay lotion and then 7RR's. THe 7th RR would not ring up. She called the manager over and the calvary came. He gave me some lame excuse about the computer not letting them take them anymore. So I asked her to start over and of course use my $5 RR first. It worked and I got a $4 RR from the razor. I then bought some more dayquil, nyquil and two packs of nerds. I used MFR coupons on them and then my two RR's from before ($4 and $1). As I was checking out the "team leader" who had taken over the cosmetic counter called the cashier I was checking out with and had a conversation with her about me. I immediatley asked for the manager. As he was coming up, I asked for my RR that printed out from the Dayquil. She had it in her hand and told me I could not have it cause I had used a RR to buy it. OH I WAS LIVID. The manager came over and was like "go ahead and give it to her until they fix the computer" I got all their names and filed a complaint. I think they were just pissed that I walked out of there with free candles & refills and practically free lotion, etc. So beware!

I am in Baltimore MD

Just got back from Walgreen's, what the hell is with the P&G coupons? I was going to do a simple transaction 3 toothbrushes, 1 toothpaste and 3 dawn soaps for a $5 RR return. I grabbed 1 zooth & 2 oral b toothbrushes. One of my 3 toothbrush coupons beeped. The cashier an older gentlemen at a walgreen's I don't frequent, price adjusted it down to the value minus the coupon. The 2nd dawn beeped as well so he went and price adjusted the final 2 dawns then when he used the in ad coupon it only took off $0.80. I wasn't going to argue at this point I was tired and it was 11:30. However when all was said and done my RR didn't print. He tried to tell me it was because I used coupons and I told him I'd not had the problem before and asked politely to see the manager. The manager THANKFULLY was one I new previously at another store and I was able to get my RR. Why are all the P&G coupons saying ONE COUPON PER PURCHASE now? It's bad enough you only get a month to use them now they are making it nearly impossible to get a good deal out fo them.

Lolo said...

heads up on the bandaid coupon from the children's coloring book. It does not give you any overage. Instead it adjusted down to the price of the 2 band aids I bought. It only took off $3 instead of $4 and I could not argue it because the bandaids are on sale 2/$3, LOL. So I ended up paying an extra $1 oop that I hadn't plannned on. Also oral b Q's were crazy. Most beeped at first and then they tried them after everything and some would then work and others would not.
Also heads up fpor the glade candle refills if you buy the bonus packs, they were ringing up at full price and NOT producing the RR. We then scanned the non bonus packs and they rang up correctly and gave a RR. so beware.

Carrie said...

I tried to get the Gillette Fusion razor yesterday. The manager told that the register rewards wouldn't print because the catalina installer would know that I was using the coupon, and they wouldn't get their money back from the coupon?!? I just told him to cancel the deal. I won't go to this Walgreens amymore. I'm not liking Walgreens much right now.

Mary said...

I think WAG's is pissed that they gave away so much free stuff this past weekend, and they are trying to make up with it by refusing our coupons. What fun! I was just beginning to like WAG's too. I bet they will go to something like CVS and Rite Aid where you can only get one free deal per item. Then we won't be able to roll the RR's into things. I plan on going to another WAGS today to get another razor and some more Glades. Don't forget when you buy the glades, you can submit for the $5 rebate (up to three times)!

Anonymous said...

on the complete contact solution - the walgreens i went to had a double pack of 12oz bottles, labeled buy one get one FREE on it. i paid 7.99 for the double pack and got an $8 register reward. 2 12oz bottles for FREE!!!!!!!

Carrie, just go through with the order anyway. As long as the manuf. coupon is not conflicting (as sometimes it does) the RR will print out regardless of what the manager says. I have one manager that always tries to use that as an excuse whenever one of my deals goes haywire and I just make them rering it and then it prints thus blowing up in their face! If in fact it did not print because of interference from the manuf. coupon (ie it was coded the same) then just return it after it is done.

Thanks for the "heads-up" on the rebate for the Glade, etc. purchases. My first $5.00 has already been spent. I never realized that we could submit it up to 3 times. I have half a closet full of items that will qualify. Now, just finding the receipts. Thanks again.

I had some problems at Walgreens last night. I tried to use my coloring book coupons on the toothbrushes and the children's ibuprofen (B1G1), and they wouldn't let me because the products were on sale!! What do I do?
