This is terrific. I used my postcard to send to a recovering American soldier. Thanks Hip!
I would encourage everyone to send a card or two to our soldiers.

Nice to meet you Angie :)
Thanks Brianne!!! I sent one! Such a wonderful idea!
For cards to actually reach a recovering soldier, they need to go through an agency like Red Cross, not just to the hospital. http://www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/soldiercards.asp
Hey, I didn't know you could just send off 1 card. I tried to send another & it said I couldn't :( Oh well, I sent one to my friend telling her she is a good mother.
Brianne & Heather - thank you both for the addresses. Sent one to each, and I'll also send one of my family cards to each address.
I had the same problem. It said I had already sent one when i had not.
Me, too. I wonder if it'll work on my husband's computer?
It said I alreadysent one? But I didn't! Oh well, anyway.
well if thats the case then heres an address to do them through the red cross. must be postmarked by December 7th

Thanks Brianne, My card was sent to an army soldier (my grandfather served in Korea) so I felt good about sending it to an army soldier.
Well I sent mine to the recovering American soldier address that Brianne said and I really hope it gets there, what would they do with the mail catrpel, throw it away? the snope link you posted came up with nothing.
Here is another attempt at the info on the recovering soldier cards not being delivered if sent to the hospitals:

Says I have already sent one and I haven't. I wanted to send to a solider. :(
Thanks to whoever said use a different browser because Firefox said I already sent one and I didnt so i tried IE. THANK YOU. Sent to a solider :)
Ditto, to soldier
I mailed out 6 cards last year for Thanksgiving to the Walter Reed Medical Center and they were all returned to me. They were marked "Return to Sender." I was told that they had to be addressed to a specific person or they could not be opened due to potential threats.
Actually, Brianna -- because of recent security precautions, unless your letter is addressed to a specific soldier, the hospital can't deliver it. You can, however, get it distributed by the Red Cross:
