Rayovac: $1/1 Coupon=Possibly FREE Batteries!

Remember the Rayovac Batteries coupon I posted earlier this week? Well, some of you may have noticed I removed the post. I won't go in to details about why, but I'm going to go ahead and repost it.

My friend, Cindy over at LivingRichWithCoupons called Rayovac customer service. The customer service rep she spoke with verified that they have absolutely no problem with us bloggers posting the Rayovac code to access the coupon and they are fully aware that there are unlimited prints.

Alright, so here's a recap of the deal:

Go here, click on "Enter Code From Package For Bonus Coupon" and type in code 74016761 (do NOT copy and paste). After doing so, you'll have access to your very own $1/1 Rayovac Alkaline Batteries coupon (Valid on AA/AAA- 4 pkg, C/D - 2 pkg, 9V - 1 Pkg)!

This is a great coupon and should make for some inexpensive... possibly FREE batteries! I've seen the 4 packs of AA/AAA and 2 packs of C/D Rayovac Alkaline batteries priced around $1 in Target previously (found in the $1 spot in the front of the store). These batteries may be priced pretty low at Walmart too! Let us know if you find any great in-store deals to use these $1/1 coupons on!

(Thanks, LivingRichWithCoupons!)

Anyways... this has nothing to do with the post.
But I just noticed Hip2Save is not on the lead anymore for the 2009 Cheepie Awards.
Lets try to get her on the lead again! =] Lets vote!

Using this coupon that is specified for a 4 pack on a 2 pack is fraudulent. This is the reason that good deals/coupons get ruined for everyone.

Just FYI I printed them in color (if that makes a difference) but it had trouble getting read by the scanner at both Target and Shoprite. Luckily the cashier handnposted them :) hope everyone has better luck.

If anyone can answer this question to clarify the confusion: Can we use this coupon on Zinc batteries in Dollar Spot at Target? Yesterday I went to Target and noticed they have 2 different kind of batteries which are Alakine that have 2 batteries (blue package) & Zinc that have 4 batteries (red package). I printed 10 coupons and wanted to buy some batteries to stock up. Thanks!

I think I can clear up some of the confusion about whether these are good for Target's dollar spot. Although Target carries 4 packs of AA and AAAs, they are heavy duty, not alkaline, so this coupon isn't good for those ones. They do carry Rayovac alkaline AA and AAAs, but they are only in 2-packs, so this isn't good for those, either. Finally, the 2-packs of C and D batteries are heavy duty, as well, so once again, no go. However, Target did have a pretty sweet deal on Duracell 24-pack AAs. They were on sale for $11 something and had $3 peelies, so not a bad deal. Plus, Rite Aid has a $5 rebate on a purchase of $15 of Duracells. Unfortunately, I'm still looking for battery deals, since I (stupidly) purchased battery hog toys for seven nieces and nephews, and I thought it would be pretty crappy to stick the parents with buying batteries for them all! Hopefully, they'll pay it forward when they're purchasing my son battery hog toys! ; )

I think this depends on your Target. I've been able to find my the 4 packs of Rayovac Alkaline batteries for $1 at my Target in the $1 spot, so yes you can get them FREE and yes, I AM using the coupon correctly.

Prices vary by region.

I was enjoying reading that other thread, you should repost all of the snarky comments too! hhahahahahah

Thanks for the update, GREAT coupon.

As far as zinc...zinc is cheap and has a much shorter shelf life. I don't think the coupon was meant for those, but stockpiling them it doesn't make sense either unless you can use them up quick.

sjfabian said...

My Target dollar spot is Rayovac alkaline all sizes - and except for the scanner having trouble reading the q - I have been getting 56 packs a day ;)

Anonymous said...

thanks for all of your hard work Collin!!! I really appreciate all of the deals!

sjfabian said...

sorry I meant 5 packs not 56 - whoa that would be a lot!!!!! lol

Anonymous said...

56 packs a day.. Is that really needed.. All you are doing is getting the stores to not want to take the coupons..

josie said...

thanks for the info, hip to save! bricks, coupons.com, etc only allow 2 prints. it doesn't look like this coupon has a limit. i'm happy to take advantage of a good deal, but also want to be careful not to abuse the system. when a coupon will print multiple times (like this one or PDF coupons) is it okay to print off a handful? (assuming one uses good coupon ettiquette and doesn't clean out an entire shelf of product or try to use the coupon incorrectly, etc.) thoughts?

Anonymous said...

sweetness...only the coupon prints on each page...no getting a full page of an ad to waste ink!

Thank you! I was so happy Thanksgiving Day to score toys for the kids at Walgreens, until I got home and realized the batteries would cost more than the toys! Going to see if I can get these at Walgreens.

Anonymous said...

I used these coupons at WalMart with no problems. The 4 packs are 97 cents so 3 cent overage.

Anonymous said...

I got free batteries at Target from the dollar spot that said Zinc Chloride or something on the front, but I flipped them over and it said Alkaline

Anonymous said...

I think that rather than invest in a ton of batteries, rechargeables are a better investment (unless you are putting them in a gift)..

Anonymous said...

I agree with the rechargables, but remember these are great to give to toys for tots. I'm sure those families can't afford rechargables. :)

Courtney said...

Yay! With Christmas we can all use some free batteries!! :)

Collin,
This deal worked out like a charm at my Target...:) the four pack alkaline batts were at the dollar spot.
Thank you!

Anonymous said...

I think each Target has a different variety on their dollar spot. My Target has both the Alkaline adn the Zinc batteries in a variety of sizes. Most deals are gone by time I get to them but this one has worked perfectly for me in my region. I've been using both the Sunday paper coups and the printed coups for this deal without a problem. Walmart, however, did give me some greif about the price being less then the coup, but I finally got them to accept it too. Target didnt beep at all!!

Thanks Colin...my Target had a TON of the 4 packs in the Dollar spot...I talked to a friend that works tehre & she looked at the product as well as the coupon & said that they are fine to use. Target get credited for the coupons plus shipping so how is that abuse?
I also kindly shared a few with people I saw picking up some of the batteries!
I think as long as we aren't buying up the whole basket of batteries for free- who cares?

Thanks so much Colin...you ROCK!

I used the coupons from the last post and it scanned perfectly. I received FREE batteries today! Thank you!

Awesome coupon :D

Does anyone know how to get it to print without it printing a full page of black background? I only printed one, thank goodness!

sjfabian said...

You can teach the recipient about coupons, just include the coupons in the gift with a note attached, "Go get them free yourself - Learn to Coupon!" lol

thank you so much for posting this. i am in CA and we never get this coupon we get $1.00/2

Another battery find... Staples Rewards Card. You can get TWO 20 (16+4) packs of Duracell AA or AAA batteries and they will give you the FULL amount back as Staples Rewards (I think you have to spend these in Staples, but I always do anyway on paper or ink).

One sweet thing is you can do this deal again each week during the promotion period. It started last week, so I think it runs this week and next week also. The info for this was in the weekly Staples flyer.

That's about $75 in free batteries!

I did this at Target and got 10 packs! I looked at the coupon and read it carefully because of the previos blog regarding fraud. The $1 packs at Targt where exactly what the coupons said.

Thanks!!

Miss Looney Tunes said...

my target has rayovac but only 2 packs of the alkaline when the coupon call for 4 in a pack of AA. they had another type of 4 pack battery but it wasn't alkaline.. it was like zinc copper or something.

These will be great to bring to the Christmas parties so the kids can play with all their toys there. Someone always forgets batteries with their presents & I don't mind because they were FREE! I will be the best aunt ever;)

I printed some last night. I went to Target after I printed and they were sitting there and I grabbed two. When I went to the register the lady said wow what a great price! I laughed and said yes it was.

Thank You for this great deals. And plase don't forget to vote for Collin, she is not on the lead anymore, I vote like 20 times today.Does anybody knows how many times a day can we vote?

Brandie said...

I got two packs of 2 AA batteries from the dollar bin at Target for FREE. :)

I printed about 5 of the coupon but only used 2. I figured 5 might be greedy. :p

Brandie said...

So I looked at the coupon just now and I did not realize it required the 4 packs.

But it worked for me on the 2 pack.

Anon 1:03

It was a typo. She corrected it in the next post.

I think I'll print one and try it out this weekend. If its a lot of print, I don't want to waste my precious ink! lol

I learned about a deal a few months back when that $1 off 1 pack of batteries came out. I purchased 50 coupons from a coupon clipping webstite at 8 cents a piece and went to Target and got 100 batteries for $4.00!! And what I can't believe is that most of the coupon clipping websites still have those coupons in stock!!

pattil24 said...

I just got back from Target where I was able to use the coupons successfully -- but I had a great cashier who hand keyed each of my 5 coupons. I was totally prepared to walk away from the sale, but she was awesome! You guys gave me courage to at least try it! Does anyone know what the 2 means next to the AA? My hubby thinks they won't work. Also Target has a bunch of toys at 30% off -- I scored a Playskool Activity ball on sale for $7.98 for $2.98 with the $5 coupon I just happened to have! The coupon gods were smiling today!

Anonymous said...

these are usually on sale for $1 at waldbaums a ny grocery store.

Anonymous said...

I must have the misfit walmart because nowhere in the store did I see a pack of batteries much less than $5.....and I'm pretty intent on NOT paying much for them...oh well..will keep searching!

Anonymous said...

Got 4 packs of these today at ShopRite. I think they are still on sale tomorrow for .99 a pack (4 pack AA and AAA). Manager had to come over and manually put them in because they didn't scan, but she was sweet and didn't seem to mind.

I just did the battery deal at staples so I certainly don't need anymore batteries. Will be giving these to my mom to donate to her school's toy drive.

sjfabian - I had the trouble with color coupons not scanning also, so I switched to grayscale with a lower resolution. Problem solved - HTH!

My Target wouldn't take these coupons. First it says Alkaline 4 packs and my Target only had Alkaline 2 packs. They had 4 packs of the Zinc ones. The cashier rang one of each kind for me and then attempted to scan the coupon. The coupon would not scan. She said she was not allowed to enter them in by hand. I printed the coupons I have in grayscale (draft format). The cashier noted that they were fuzzy looking. Would it be better to print them using "Best" or "normal" ink? Any tips to get these to work???

sjfabian said...

Thanks Shelley. I thought color would look more official since it was a PDF :)

You don't need to enter in a code. The direct link is: http://www.rayovacbonus.com/images/Coupon.jpg

I got 10 AA and AAA today and my coupon scaned just fine. no problems I going back to get 20 more that should last for about a year.

I can't seem to find the 4 pack at Walmart or Target. They have the Heavy Duty Zinc ones, but not the Alkaline. I'll have to keep looking around.
