does anyone know if the ingredients contain eggs, or if eggs are needed to make these? I have a child with an egg allergy. Thanks!
Not on zip 37617 ... what is your zip code??? THANKS!
Daperdangirl
I have a box. The directions say: "Heart Healthy pancakes (7-9 servings)use 1 cup mix + 3/4 cup skim milk + 1/4 cup egg white." For traditional pancakes it is the same except in place of the egg white use 1 egg + 1 tblsp. oil. As for the ingredients I don't see any eggs listed and it only warns of containing wheat and soy ingredients. Hope that helps.
Try zip 50472. mkw
Eva,
Thank you SO much! Unfortunately, I have to pass up on this deal. I really appreciate your help!
mom of three. i have a 2 year old with an allergy as well....if the box doesnt say has eggs or milk in it you could always just add soy milk and omit the eggs to make a topping for fruit or meat pies.
I used to be allergic to eggs and it is not fun. Try replacing the egg with applesauce. It is not the same as eggs but is not too bad in pancakes.
has anyone actually tried these? How do they taste?
Thanks Tara and momma-lana! I've always wondered about applesauce. Have a good day! :)
a while back there was a $2 off one box of this mix and doesn't expire til 12/31, if you still have it, you make money on this deal. That's what I did this week!! Free plus $1 overage
Anon,
Personally I like them but they definitely taste "healthy" and have a different texture than ur reg pancakes, so I don't think they are for everyone. I use them for McGriddle-type sandwiches which they are perfect for.
I'm new to this rewards thing. My question is can you use the rr towards anything in the store?
Hey Anon 10:16,
THANKS for the reminder! I have the 2.00 coupons I almost forgot about...woohoo! :)
Thanks for the feedback Michelle! I really like whole grain pancakes from places like bob evans so I'm thinking maybe I'll like them?
thanks, this was not in 32506 but i go it in 50472
oh and my wags did not have this on stock monday but maybe they will soon
If you happen to have 2 of the $2MQ (exp end of Dec I think)for this item (as I did) it makes a really great deal at Wags.
To those with egg allergies: Ener-G makes a great egg replacer. It works great for baking.
Can you please take a break...
I can't get out of the house because you keep posting deals!!! LOL
There is also a dry ingredient found in natural bulk stores that you can use as a substitute for eggs. I used to keep it on hand and forget what it is called. If you check with your natural food store or bulk store they may know.
I absolutely love this product. It's 100% whole grain and has a great flavor & texture. Normally to get a convenience food this healthy, you need to pay a whole lot of money. This is a great deal!
Also I use this mix to make muffins!
I just made these last week and did not really enjoy them. Not very fluffy and had too much of a whole grain flavor for me. Some might like them though.
Was the $2 coupon in one of the sunday inserts? Thanks
Jen,
The $2.00 coupon was a printable from months ago! Like... 3-4 months ago at least! They had an exp. date of 12/31/09. Dont think they are around anymore though since it was such a long time ago!
I can't find it in my Walgreens - bummer!
Do you know which Walgreens have the Wed - Sat ad? Mine seemed to know nothing about it and therefore had none of the deals listed. Wondering if there's a way to find out. Thanks!
My Walgreen's knew nothing about these midweek sales either. What's going on with that???
So glad these were only $.50 because imo they were nasty! I added sugar to the mix and they were still bad. Ended up dumping out the mix and making the old standby Snoqualmie pancakes. If anyone has any recipe ideas for this mix please post!
