Get FREE Gifts as a Nielsen Panel Member!

Have you heard of the Nielsen Homescan Consumer Panel?!
As a Nielsen panel member, Homescan will provide you with a FREE hand-held scanner. Every time you or members of your household shop, you’ll use the scanner to scan the barcodes on all of your purchases. Then, once a week, you'll send them your purchase information.

What's in it for you?
You’ll earn gift points for scanning products. The gift points will be redeemable for name-brand merchandise, including electronics equipment, jewelry, household items, toys, and much more! You’ll also earn entries into sweepstakes!

Interested in becoming a Homescan Panelist?
Just go on over here and fill out the form! Please be aware that certain Zip codes are excluded (I'm not sure which ones), so you may or may not qualify. It worth a shot to see, though!

I have been a panel member for quite a while and love it! It does take some time to build up gift points, but in my opinion is well worth it! I have snagged quite a few free gifts.

Good questions, Tina! I want to know the same things. I can't imagine scanning EVERYTHING I buy. My goodness, hard to admit, but I buy a lot. Especially all of those freebies, etc. I buy a lot more than I used to for the same $ or less. I wonder if it is worth my time to scan all that!

I was accepted earlier this year and did it for a couple of months and decided the pay-off wasn't worth it to me for the time spent scanning everything. But, a lot of people do it and really love it. They are the same company that does Pinecone Research and I really love that, the checks come so quickly after a survey.

I just got a notice that I had been accepted, (Colorado) so I emailed back that I would participate. I haven't received a scanner, etc., yet, but I am interested in what it is all about. I don't have children at home and am currently 'underemployed', so I have a lot of time on my hands! It will be interesting to participate
and see what all is involved.....

I've been a member for quite a while now and I have to say..the time it takes to actually get points is not really worth it. It takes a long time to scan all the purchases and enter all the coupons you used etc. I've been doing it for almost a year and am just at a $10 fisher price toy prize level...it is a free way to earn stuff, just beware you'll be putting in a lot of time first!

So.Cal is doing it I just got my sacnner on Friday

I am a new member and its not worth the time for me. None of the gifts interested me except for this kids toy you can buy at a store for $40. I think I figured it would take me a year to earn it.
This panel is great if your retired or have some down time. It enables you to scan items you love to buy thus giving the info to retailers and keeping them in your area. A bit time consuming when you have 11 month old triplets. You're not missing out if you miss this one. Joan

I did this a few years ago, and it was just too time consuming. You have to scan everything, enter prices, sales, and coupons for every item. When you want to cancel, you just send the scanner back.

Austin texas area, they were not interested in me either.

I went through this big long survey and was put on the waiting list. I sure hope that if I get on this panel that it doesn't take as long as it seems like it will to do everything they want.

I have a child at home that can do a lot of this, so we'll see. Thanks for the info!
