where do you find the glade 2oz candles? I checked with the regular candle section but all they carries was 'their' brand.

I've had problems with Walmart accepting $1 coupons when the items are .97....do you have problems too?

mrs. b said...

Anon-
Nope, walmart should accept the coupon as the value of the COUPON. They are slightly different than most stores. They take the whole value of the coupon. Say you bought a product that is $1.50, but the coupon is $2.00, all they do is hit 'accept' & it'll take the $2.00 off. Their still getting their 'coverage' from the manufactor of the coupon. Not sure if their policy states that but I'd check it out that way you have 'proof'.

Mrs. B, I found the 2oz candles where all the air freshener items were. In my Walmart that is the same aisle as the cleaning supplies.

The 4.9 oz candles are $3.50 at my store but I still picked a few up.

kristin-
thanks! i never thought to check there!

I have always had problems with Walmart accepting coupons that are over the price of the item. It's really frustrating that I am almost afraid to use the coupon. I even tried to use the Tide coupon that does not state any size and use it on the trial size Tide but over and over have been told that I can't because it does not cover that size. Arrgghh!! What should I do?

Anonymous said...

Thanks mrs. b! I've had some push it through and others will not...if I remember correctly their coupon policy isn't clear...I was just wondering if they had changed things. I quit going there for a while, because of all the problems. I found the 2oz glade candles at Target yesterday. That was the only place that I have seen them.

Anonymous said...

I also stopped going to Walmart because like everyone mentioned they would not take my $1.00 coupon for anything that is less than that. I also tried the tide and I was questioned and I felt awkward trying it again.

You can add Visine to the list...we got the $2 off visine coupon a couple weeks ago...at the registers they have smaller bottles of it for (at my store) $1.64...use your $2 off coupon for a money maker! I have about 12 bottles of it in my cold storage...all of which I made money on! Yay!

Each district has their own coupon policy and every store manager can follow or not follow what policies Corporate (home office) gives them. They make their own rules in a sense.
AT my store (I work at Wal-mart), again, it's hit or miss...if you are buying an item for .97 and the coupon is for $1, some cashiers will just press accept and others have been told to "price override" the coupon to be .97 rather than for the full $1. You will still get the item for free, but you won't have any overages. My advice is to always go to a cashier who is a young girl. I am always successful using my coupons at walmart (probably cause I work there and everyone knows me)...it can be frustrating! Just stay positive with them, know for SURE that you are buying something that they can't find fault in and when in doubt, ask for an assistant manager or CSS/CSM. Ask them to SHOW you the coupon policy (all stores should have them available at the "podium").
Good luck everyone!!!

awesome!! I live in the middle of no where and all we have is a walmart. It's a 50 minute drive to walgreens, cvs, and target so I have to really plan ahead for those coupon trips. Thanks for posting walmart deals!!!

Anonymous said...

Why does the Colgate coupon I just printed say WalGREENS? Hmm

Walmart always give me a hard time when I try to use IP coupons. They said they don't take smartsource coupons b/c smartsource is fraud coupons. (what????)
Also they said they don't take IP coupons without scissors mark on the cutting line (what?????) Its just too hard to shop at walmart.
I gave up on them!!

Thanks for the great list and all that you do! I just noticed that the Dentek Floss Pick coupon has changed. It was for $1 off and you got them free. Now, it is for $1 off any package priced $2 or more! Guess they caught on to all of us stocking up on the free packs, huh? :)

K said...

FYI
The Reach coupons that you mention above specify that the 3 products must be different....i.e. can't buy 3 boxes of dental floss at $1 each and get $3 off.
:(

Anonymous said...

DenTec coupon is for $2 or more. Softsoap coupon no longer avalible.

Anonymous said...

The Dentek pic coupon says the product you buy must be over $2. So it won't come out free.

Thanks for your great posts! I was just wondering if I could indeed use BOTH free item (wheat thins AND Crackerfuls) coupons when I buy just one box of Ritz crackers. This seems too good to be true, so I thought'd I'd check to see how that works. Thanks! BTW, Publix has the Ritz on BOGO sale this week. Sweet!

I had a LOT of trouble at the Indianaplis Walmart with my coupons for travels but my local Anderson, IN wal-mart is always great and sometimes I even get overage!

Also, the Reach coupon I had, I was able to buy 3 dental flosses for .97 I think and they all came out free. It worked for me. And the Colgate coupon with the Walgreens logo on it states "Available at Walgreens" and NOT acceptable at Walgreens exclusivlty. Last time the coupon was up I used it at WalMart no prob. becasue it says in fine print that it is redeemable where ever coupons are accepted. It's a Manufacture coup.

The Nexcare Travel size bandaids were 82 cents at my Target, and Crest White Strips Trial size were marked down to $4.62. I also was able to use the $1.50 off any huggies diaper product to purchase huggies travel size wipes that were $1.50 at Wal-Mart. My Wal-Mart doesn't make a big deal about coupons, but I always go to the same cashiers who pretty much push everything through!!!

Colgate toothebrush/toothpaste coupon printed off with a walgreens logo on it. I did get to use it at target, as the lady didnt look at it thank goodness!

Walgreens has a coupon for $1.00 off a J&J First aid product. The coupons are in the aisle with the first aid stuff and you cam get as many as you want! I took those coupons and bought 12 of the first aid kits at Wal-Mart for free!

I am very new to coupon clipping and I have a couple questions. First when you list the type of coupon after an item I figured out that "SS" was Smart Source, but what is "RP"? Also, how can I get the coupons that say 8/23SS? Is there a way to search for those on the Smart Source cite, or do I just need to start stockpiling my coupons from current ads for future use?

Thanks!

Anonymous said...

The Colgate Coupon DOES NOT say that you can only use it at Walgreens. It states it is "acceptable at Walgreens" that does not mean that you can only use it there. If you look at the fine print its a manufacture coup just like every other one. It says accepted where ever coupons are accepted. I've used it at Walmart many times and never had a problem. If it beeps (mine did) just tell them to read the fine print, it's not a store coup.

If you are new to couponing you should just get a box. Then start buyng 2-3 papers each week and put all you coupon inserts in there. After a few weeks you'll notice that every coupon people are talking about are in your box. You can also try getting orgainizers and such but this simple method of having a small box in my closet works best for me. Every few weeks I clean out dead coups.

Also, If you see a coupon you really want, i usually buy it from a site such as Coupon Clippers, or (my fav) The Coupon Master. The is a great way of get multiples of any coup you want for very cheap. A few weeks ago there was a coup for a free jar of Baby food I waned and i wasn't willing to pay for multiple papers get this one coup from them so I went to a site and bought it for only $0.12 a coup. For the price of one paper I was able to get like 15 coups from the site.

I live in Idaho Falls, but my Husband and I were in Rexburg for the day. We decided to go to the Rexburg Walmart to purchase our baby's diapers. I had one manuf q for $3 off, and the target q for $1.50 off. The cashier refused to take the competitors coupon. Since we were on our way back to Idaho Falls, we chose to leave without our items, and to purchase them at the Ammon store. Fortunately they took both q's with no problem. I understand that each manager can choose what policy they wish to adhere to, but the Rexburg Walmart lost our business last Friday.
