Toys R Us: $15 LeapFrog TAG Reading System!

Tina emailed to let me know that we she was not able to find the LeapFrog TAG Reading System on clearance for $24.99 at Target. However, she went over to Toys R Us and was able to score this deal:

LeapFrog TAG Reading System on sale for $29.99
Use the $5 off $25 Babies R Us coupon (you can use this at Toys R Us)
Plus, use the $10 TAG Reading System coupon
Final cost $14.99!

I'm not sure if this is on sale for $29.99 at all locations, so let us know if you're able to find them priced this low!

(Thanks, Tina!)

I just purchased the leapfrog Tag last week. I wanted to bring attention to your readers the issue I am having. In order to download books to the Tag you have to download the Tag software from Leapfrog.com. Needless to say after 5 phone calls with leap frog, several emails, and contacting my internet provider they can not figure out why I am unable to download their software, which means I can not put any additional books onto my Tag. My daughter enjoyed playing with the one book that came downloaded with the product, but I think I will have to return mine. I suggest before you buy a Tag item you go to their website and make sure that you can download their software! (and yes, my computer exceeded their requirements and I turned off my Firewalls and security anti virus system)
Thanks for all that you do Hip2Save! It is greatly appreciated

I purchased my tag last week and in order to get the Babies R Us coupon to work you have to have one "Baby item" with your purchase. Otherwise it will not scan. So buy something for .99 in the baby section like a jar of food, you will still be saving $4.00. Or if you cashier is nice she may be able to force the coupon through.

So I can't find the coupon on that link...where is it?

I saw the TAG system at Target, they are on an end cap facing the games by the toys. If I remember correctly they are before the games but facing that wall. I saw more than 5 just 2 days ago. I went to just get one free baby bottle with the coupon from Target but they are out. They have been for a while. The girl said that a lady came and cleaned them out. I love reading the blogs to get ideas, its frustrating how it makes it harder and harder to get god deals anymore. I had a list for Target with 9 things I wanted to get and 2 items they had in stock. Went to Albertsons and more than half my list was out of stock too. The general manager said its always the same ladies that clean them out. He said they don't have notice of what they will be needing a stock of for the good deals, so they can only do so much. He said because some people just take so much and leave nothing and other customers are complaining and there have been so many problems with coupons, they have even talked about not accepting coupons anymore. I sure hope that doesn't happen. I can't see it happening because they are still making money. I just hope that people are buying what they need and leaving some for other people to get good deals too.

I just got back from Toys R us and yep, the tag readers are on sale for 29.99! they are not marked though so you may have to scan them... i was unable to use the Babies R Us Coupon (even when i tried to throw in a 1.00 baby item) but was still able to get it for 20 bucks! I am super excited because i was able to get a purple/pink one and had been unable to find them in the Target clearance! thanks again Hip2 Save! You Rock again!

I was unable to use the Babies R Us coupon. The cashier told me it was only good at Babies R Us and it was the first coupon she has seen that doesn't work at Toys R Us. But hey it was def. worth a try. I did get a MAggie and the Ferocious beast DVD for $1.99 though... love it.

The TAG Reading system was $39.99 at my Toys R Us. However I did snag two at my Target for $24.98 - $10.00 Q. Looking forward to setting it up for my son and giving one as a gift! Does anyone have a link for the Target $5.00 Q for this? or is it still available?

I just purchaced the Tag system yesterday from Target on clearance for 24.95 and used the Target store coupon (sent in the mail, any leapster item for 5 off) and the manufactures coupon for $10 off. So I got it for 9.95. I hope the software can be downloaded on my computer!

You should be able to use the babies r us coupon at toys r us. I've used it a couple times with no trouble. They just usually code it in. I guess it depends on the cashier..

I just bought the Tag system at toys r us- it was on sale for 29.99 and they also would not allow me to use the babies r us coupon...the cashier was really nice and even offered me some other coupons if i spent at least $75 in store. I wasn't in the mood to go and buy needless purchases though. She said you can only use those coupons at toys r us if they have the actual toys r us insignia on it. She tried to scan the coupon anyways for me and was very helpful, but no dice. :( Still got it for $20 though, which is a great price.

I just went to TRU to check this out - and here near Philly they were on sale for the $29.99. I used the $10 Leap Frog coupon, but the $5 BRU coupon did not work. The cashier said it was b/c the Tag system is classified under their video games/hardware category. But still - $20 for a $50 toy is a great deal. Thanks for letting us know! :-)

I was just at Target tonight and got my tag reader on sale. It was with all of the other tag readers priced at 49.99. I price checked it because I knew that they were on sale and sure enough it was!!! I price checked a couple others and they were also on sale. So be on the lookout.

I'm super frustrated as our Target doesn't have them on clearance at all -- I don't think they ever did. They were still priced at $49.99!!!! I'm going to call down to a town 45 miles away to see if I can get my hands on one at Toys-R-us. ARGH!

The $49.99 systems are the newer ones. The older ones are clearanced, because the hold fewer books (fewer MB). So, they are two completely different systems, FYI.

Erin said...

Anyone know if the ones at Toys R Us are the newer models or are they the older models that only hold five books?

I was able to score one at Toys-r-us for $29.99 then the $10 Manu. coupon. I tried to use the $5 off $25 from babiesrus, but the cashier refused, saying I needed $25 in baby items. I also had a $10 GC so it made it a good deal after all.
It is the older version (holding 5 books).

I got one today at the Orem Target. The sticker on it said marked down to $24.95, but it rang up at the cash register for $12.95. So, with my $10 off man. Q it was only $2.95!! I was super excited!
