Rite Aid: New $5 off $25 Coupon + Coupon Policy

All you Rite Aid shoppers will be happy to know there's a brand new $5 off $25 Rite Aid PDF coupon and it doesn't expire until 12/19/09!
(Thanks, Christie!)

**This coupon will go great with all the Rite Aid Weekly deals currently available!

**********************************************
Also, I received an email from 2 readers regarding Rite Aids coupon policy. They both received the same Rite Aid Coupon Policy via email back from Rite Aid corporate. Here it is below. I would highly suggest printing it off and keeping it with you every time you shop at Rite Aid!

At Rite Aid:
You can use a manufacturer's coupon with a Rite Aid coupon at anytime as long as the two combine do not exceed the amount of the item you are purchasing. Rite Aid accepts all internet coupons as long as the value of the coupon is below $5.00. Also, you can use more than one coupon per transaction.

Whenever an item is on sale you can use a coupon on the item as long as the value of the coupon does not exceed the value of the item itself. For instance; if you have a coupon for a $1.00 off and the item is on sale for $0.99, the coupon cannot be used as it exceeds the value of the item being purchased. I hope this explains in further detail the coupon policy for you.

When items are featured on a buy one get one free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long a the net price does not go below zero for the item being purchased.

Rite Aid accepts the $5 off $25 or more before all other coupons are used. This was changed recently so if you have difficulty simply have the manager contact 1-800-RITEAID for information.

I would love to have this coupon policy in black & white from a Rite Aid representative. I have been told more than once that internet coupons are not accepted. Some of the other policies that would be to my benefit are not being followed in my local Rite Aid. I would really appreciate knowing who to contact so I can get the same response. Then I will have the document framed and with me on my next trip to Rite Aid.

Thanks for this post--very timely. I had a horrible experience with coupons at a Rite Aid this evening. First, my $5 off a $20 purchase was scrutinized as a possible "counterfeit." Then when they let me use it and I started to hand them my other coupons, they threw a fit and said the dollar off purchase coupon applied to the after other coupon total only. Needless to say, I left with nothing but my coupons. The cashier proceeded to argue with me and was very insulting after I decided not to make the purchase. I am tired of being treated like a criminal for using coupons...especially when I am following the guidelines that Rite Aid has set forth! I love your website because it sounds like this is a common complaint among couponers. Thanks for your great info!

To Anon:
Contact Corporate immediately. Go on their website & under contact info, decscribe the entire event & give them the store, date time & employee description. I have done that several times to my benefit each time. A representative will contact you immediately & the store manager will as well. Rite Aid is very good at rectifying problems. Good luck

At the rite aid closest to me you CANNOT use an internet coupon unless it's able to be scanned. This is what the manager told me. Well I printed off many coupons all at different print levels (such as best or fast print) and none of them will scan at Rite Aid so they will not accept the coupons

Rite Aid only changed their coupon policy recently (as in w/in the week). Before that, the policy clearly stated they would not accept internet coupons. I agree though, if you feel you were treated unfairly, contact Rite Aid. I had a horrible situation in our one local store and contacted customer service. Within a couple days the local manager called to clarify and appologize and then the employee also called to appologize and let me know they'd been retrained on coupons. They really do try to make the customer happy.

I'd like to give a shout out though to the Rutherfordton, NC store. The managers and staff at that location have been well trained on coupons and will go above and beyond their duty to help you save all you can and accomodate you in any way. Anyone local should definitely check out that store!

i guess it depends on the rite-aid and the cashier. Because I used the clean and clear 3/1 coupon from ad-perk and the 2/1 coupon and the trident coupon 1/2,yesterday and my final cost was .48 cents and didn't have any problem. And the clean and clear was on sale for 4.50. Well thanks for all your tips. Dot

I never have problems with Rite Aid. I was expecting some issues with the diaper "product" coupon yesterday, so I pointed it out upfront and the cashier was super nice and said "let's see if the computer takes it"--it did, so I got some free wipes! Of course, it kinda messed up my purchase plan and I had to throw a couple extra items in to be able to use my $5 coupon, but it was worth it, knowing that the "product" coupon is good on wipes. I also used the Clean and Clear coupons with no problems. They scanned fine.

a good friend is a manager is at rite aid....a few months ago she told me they were allowing more coupons to get competitive with CVS and walgreens. last week, while shopping, she told me that rite aid has fired managers and whole stores of coupon issues. she told me corporate is really watching all coupon use.

i dont know what to think.

ive never been able to use a 5 off 25 before coupons.......im going to argue over it.

I must be lucky. My Rite Aid has never given me problems over coupons. They take the $5 off $25 before other coupons and take as many printed coupons as I can give them. If they don't scan or even if they beep, the cashiers always put them in manually. I've had nothing but great experiences. Last week the cashier even gave me a coupon tip as I was shopping - she knew there was a coupon available for the item I was looking at, of course, I already had the coupon with me but it was very nice of her to go out of her way to make sure I saved money.

I do have a question - when a PDF coupon like this is available how many should you print? Technically I guess you can print as many as you want, but is that right?

Kelley said...

Chrystal,
While I was in the middle of printing a couple, I noticed on the first to come out that the fine print says only one per customer. I'm just glad to get one, though. It will make getting to the $100 level on their fall savings program a snap!

I've shopped at my CO Rite Aid once. It was a very bad experience. They absolutely will not accept internet coupons. Thanks for posting this. I may just bring it in.

Crystal: I do not think there is a limit to how many you can print. I think they have found those coupons bring in a higher number of sales so they made this new one a pdf.

The only limit I can see is you are only allowed one coupon per transaction. So, seperate and you are fine :) THat also may be why they have an expire date so far out, I think they want shoppers to stock up for the coming holidays at their stores :)

Wow, I am lucky my riteaid cashiers are wonderful and they even work with me to help maek sure they ring up all the coupons in the right order and even say wow , what a great deal.

I always make it a point to get to know my cashiers well and be very nice and ask them how they are doing everytime I go in and speak in a nice manner when talking to them. Now when I go in, I am always greeted and they know I am going to be doing coupons and they are ready to help when I get in line.

I have this with my walgreens and riteaid. But, my walmarts - hate and I mean hate couponers, I think while they brainwash their employees in prehire stage about how horrible and bad unions are - to keep their employees away from unions, they also throw in couponers are the devil too. lol - because that is how I am treated almost everytime.

Just to clarify, what exactly is a Rite Aid coupon? They have some in their ad that say Rite Aid valuable coupon and then others, like the Ad Perks, say Manufacturer Coupon. Has this been addressed by anyone? I still don't feel right using two manufacturer coupons on one item.

Sharyn said...

My Rite Aid will not accept them unless they have the Rite Aid logo. I have given up with them...

my rite aid is not taking more than $5 total in internet coupons. I have heard it this way by one customer service rep and then I have heard the other policy written in hip's blog twice. Which one is right?

Mom Who Cares said...

Hansen family:
Most store coupons say manufacture coupons on them, and they are not - it is usually easy to tell the difference.

Generally, if it is a store coupon, you get them from the store ads or store fliers or the store website and in most all cases they have the store logo or they say the store name on them.

If you are unsure, just call your local store and ask the person who answers the phone - if you tell them where you got the coupon, they usually can help you or put you on the line with a manager to assist.

Mom Who Cares said...

Anony 9:00am - call riteaid corp or email them. If you have a reciept check to see the store number on it, ifyou do not get their address online from yahoo yellow pages.

Then, tell them your situation and what you were told; make sure to include the store number or address. They will reply and answer that for you. Plus, by giving them the store number or address, this will allow them to know what store you are referancing and if they are wrong, they will be contacted and told they are wrong and you will also get an email telling you what is allowed. Print that email and keep it when you go to the riteaid. That should solve your concerns.

Good luck

I just got home from Rite Aid and they have a new coupon policy. If the coupon will not scan then they will not accept it. The problem I had was that two Rite Aid Video coupons would not scan. I told them that I wasn't going to make my purchase without them. They decided to manually enter than as they are from the site and they know you cannot print them more than once. I did have another Video coupon that did scan.

The difference was that the one Video coupon was bigger. So, when you print them, make them a bit bigger than the default setting to ensure they will scan.

My Rite Aid will also only allow $5 TOTAL in internet coupons. I've just emailed to ask for clarifications since that's not the way the policy reads.

jenn said...

I've noticed that on the first scan, some internet coupons will not scan. Then I see the cashier cover up part of it with their thumb then it ring's through. Some times there are two barcodes on the same coupon, and the computer only wants one of them

jenn said...

Also you can print the PDF $5 off $25 coupon as many times as you want.

Not sure if this is the best place to post this but since your referring to RiteAid policy, I just want to mention that in my area (Metro Detroit, MI) RiteAid stores will price match "competitor" prices - ie CVS and Walgreens. I don't know if this is a "Corporate" Policy but they've done it for years. Today I took in the WAGS ad and they price matched the Huggies diapers/pullups and sold them to me for $8.99 - made your deal scenario even sweeter! Thanks so much for all your effort - you really do make it "Hip 2 save" I hope you are blessed as you so generously bless others!

I printed two copies of the rite aid video value $2 huggies coupons and the rite aid cashier said that she cannot accept them because i made multiple copies of them since they both have the same RC bar code at the bottom. Question 1: do huggies video value coupon have different RC bar codes when printed from two different accounts?? 2. is it not okay to print coupons a few times? 3. was the cashier correct in not accepting the coupons?
I am new at this and would love to know more. thanks for taking the time to shed light.

You can print the 3$ off pure and natural huggies diaper coupon on smartsource since it's not on coupons.com anymore.

I am so discouraged. I went to Rite Aid today and they would not allow me to use any of my internet printed manufacturer coupons :( I even mentioned their policy to them and they would still not accept them. I have sent their corporate office an email but by the time they email me back it will be too late for my rebate savings. How embarrassing. Makes me not want to try to use coupons.

Anonymous said...

I worried about the 'limit one per customer' on the coupon as well. Like if I tried to enter my receipt for SCR, the system would know I had used it twice and not give me my rebates. Has anyone used the coupon more than once and not had any issues getting their rebates?
