How does one find out Walgreens monthly RR deals? I've never seen them printed on their weekly ads notated as a month-long deal. I'm just curious to know where the monthly RR deals are advertised!

I don't know any dove scenerios - but I bet including the $5/$25 coupon would make a great one!

I saw a tag on the Dentek floss picks that said they were a monthly register reward deal too.

Go to http://iheartwags.com. You can usually find the monthly deals there.

A positive WAGS experience I had to share...I wasn't thinking and had my husband do a second transaction of the freebies, but used the RR from my transaction. Obviously the RR didn't print out b/c I messed up, but the manager said not to worry about it and he would make them print. That he did!

Also, my WAGS in KY had displays with $3/2 John Frieda.

I am new to Walgreens shopping and today was my first day trying to purchase clearance items with coupons. I tried buying the Zantac 8 ct for $4.99 and use the $5 off Q and also the Febreeze candles on clearance for $1.79 using the $2 off Q. They both beeped, I asked the cashier to adjust the Q amounts and she called a manager. He accused me of coupon fraud and would not allow me to use the Q's. He said he could not adjust the Q's amount. Any suggestions? Do you have the Walgreens coupon policy?

I'm sorry your first day of shopping with coupons at Walgreens didn't go so well. Please don't get discouraged. There are tons of great deals at Walgreens once you understand their system. My Walgreen won't adjust coupons down, either, but as long as I've had "filler" items to absorb the extra cents on the coupons, I've never had any problems. And the manager had no right to accuse you of coupon fraud. Walgreen's system is rather complicated, and it would have been much better customer service for him to have simply explained why the coupons weren't being accepted.

Forgive me... I"ve never used RR before and want to be confident my first time in the event I have an unhelpful cashier. It sounds like the RR prints automatically for everyone and you can then immediately use it on that very transaction. Is that correct? Anything else I need to know? Thanks!

The RR prints after you pay.

Jen said...

So how do you use the RR if it prints after you pay? It sounds like you have to buy two of everything and get one of them free?

all my RRs printed except oral b toothbrush. I realized after I got home and call the store to talk to a manager, he told me to come back and they are aware the problem and the are offering rebate forms in the store. I would of rather had the RR or gift card but oh well at least we are getting compensated.

I did have filler items to take up the overage. I was actually going to pay $1.33 so I wasn't getting money back from the Q's. That's why I am confused. I'm going to try another Walgreens since I feel blacklisted from that location and hopefully I'll get a nicer staff!

Jen,
The RR work as if you spent your money on something and get it right back at the end of your transaction to be able to spend it again on something else. You can do a second transaction after your first one and use your RR's on that, but don't use a RR from one item to pay for that same item in a separate transaction. Most RR's won't print if you use the RR you already got from the same deal to do that deal again. That's why the rare rolling RR deal is so awesome.

Just an FYI: I overhead Walgreen's personnel talking this morning that Walgreen's would be going to the same card format that CVS has. I guess they have had too many people purchasing over and over again.

Also, Jen,it took me awhile to figure this out, (I should have read the great instructions on here first) but they will only take as many coupons and RR payments combined as you have items. So if you have a manuf. coupon for everything you buy plus RR, it won't take the RR. This is why you have to get the 'filler' items.

***ROLLING**** HERBAL ESSENCE SHAMPOO,WENT TONIGHT AND GOT 10. THE RAZORS WILL DO THE SAME.

Anonymous said...

Do the RR print out for the same item? ie if I buy Herbal Essence and get $2RR can I use the RR on anything or is it like a coupon for $2 off my next Herbal Essence purchase? I have had this problem before at CVS which is why I ask.

Cydne said...

Anon,
Typically RRs don't roll, that is, you can't use them to buy the same item again or it won't print a second RR.

However, if you see comments that something is "rolling," that means that you can use the RR from an item to purchase the same item.

This week the Razors have been rolling, and the comment before you indicated that the Herbal Essences RR is rolling; so you should be able to get an RR from the razors and use it to purchase more razors, etc.

Also, the the earlier anonymous poster whose coupons beeped, at my WG, mine beep even when I have filler items and overage if the item is less than the amount.

The only way I can get them not to beep is to buy another identical item so that the total for that item/brand is higher than the coupon. For example, if you bought 2 Febreeze coupons, your $2 coupon would not beep. However, that can often defeat the purpose of using the coupon, so you have to figure out what your total cost will be.

To those who have had clearance items beep because the coupon is for more than the item, here is what I have found. My Walgreens won't adjust down, but if it's a clearance item, they will adjust the price so that it is for exactly the value of the coupon. I did this when foil was $0.89 and I had a $1 coupon. They just charged me $1 for the item (they'll only do this for clearance items). Hope that helps give you another idea.

i see they are doing the dove deal again i wonder if the travel size deodorants will work again :)!!!

I just returned from Walgreens very frustrated. The RR I received from the Herbal Essance made it beep. The RR said that it couldn't be used with any other Proctor and Gamble product (or a few other things.) The manager was trying to tell me that I had used too many coupons. And that some of the Walgreen only coupons are really manufactures coupons and I couldn't use them together. I will be taking a break from the madness.

Good find yesterday. Mucinex (Walgreens brand) is on sale BOGO on the 30 count. They are priced @ $9.99. Over by the cosmetics, I found a display & they were marked $4 on the box. I decided to get 2 of these because it would be less. They rang up BOGO @ $4!!! That's 60 pills for only $4, no coupons needed! I bought 4 more. I don't know when this sale ends.

Does anyone know how long RR are good for? I have a list of things I want to go snag for "free" today but am leaving the country for three weeks and am worried I won't be able to use them before the expire!

I've been reading about how you have to have at least as many items as you have RRs. . . . so does this mean that if I have one (1) RR worth $5.00 I have to have at least five items or can I use it on only one item that is over $5.00 cost?
I can understand not using four (4) RRs to pay for one item that is worth $5.00 but I'm confused.
I need at least as many items as actual coupons I'm using? Is that it?
