CVS: New "Green Bag Tag" Card!

Wow! I have some exciting news for all you CVS shoppers--CVS is going green! They have a new card called "Green Bag Tag" for sale in their stores. I'm not exactly sure where these are found, but I'm assuming near the registers. These cards retail for $0.99, but are definitely worth purchasing! Why you ask? Well, each time you visit CVS and bring in a reusable bag, they will scan your "Green Bag Tag" and the 4th time they scan your tag, you will earn a $1 Extra Care Buck! Yay! That's like FREE money!

**Limit one green tag use/scan per day per household.

**If the "Green Bag Tag" cards aren't at your store yet, expect them to arrive in the next week or two.

(Thanks so much for the info & picture, CouponingToDisney!)

Even better than Kroger!!! I always keep my bags in the vehicle. Just a little way to help the environment & now my wallet...

Every 4th time they scan your card you get a dollar?

What is the kroger bag policy?

Ok, now here's a good question....how is this system going to work with multiple CVS cards!?!?

Today, I went to my local Ralphs store in CA and I always look for their clearance items. However, they have a clearance section in the back and I found two "Bear Naked" granola bags.

There was a previous post for two $2 printable coupons and the price for the granolas were $1.99, so bascially it was free! This was an AWESOME deal. : )

I love any program that encourages people to use reuseable bags. However, I think this is a little silly and will be confusing. Personally, I think the credits should be accrued by using your regular CVS card. That said, I will probably get one.

Really, if you want to compare to Kroger or other grocery stores that usually give a $.05 bag credit, if you use 5 bags each trip, then after 4 trips you would have saved $1. So, it seems to be a pretty standard credit (not that I would use 5 bags on an average CVS trip).

I think you will need to buy one Green Bag Card per CVS card you have as the Green Bag Card will be linked to your CVS account as soon as it's scanned the first time.

I had a great time at CVS today. This was the first time I used my coupon book set up like yours and it was AWESOME. They had Quaker Bars, Nutri-Grain Bars, Ob's, Smuckers caramel, etc etc etc on clearance today I bought 60.00 worth of stuff and spent $5.00 It was amazing. I have never been able to flip to the page and get the right coupon. I got Welches fruit snacks for .39 per box and I got the Neosporin lip stuff for free...4 bottles. The fruit snacks are a great treat for my little girls for so cheap. Collin, Thank you ...I don't think I can thank you enough for your help with couponing. I would never be brave enough to do it on my own!!!

I have just started keeping the bags in my car..at first I felt the need to use a Kroger bag at Kroger and Target at Target and so on..but I got over it and just take what I have in...I even keep that cute spider one that fold up so neat from Target in my purse now! Love that we will get further discounts at stores for doing it!

i have a bunch of resuasable bags in my car. Problem being that I forget to bring them into the store with me. Useless. I need to get in the habit.

Try keeping your coupons in or near your bags. You wouldn't dare forget those, so then you'll remember your bags, too!
I just got the cutest reusable bag I've ever seen at the Disney Store, it has Kermit the Frog on it and it says something along the lines of, "I love being green" or something. So cute.

Good idea about keeping them near the coupon binder. I have reusable bags I just forget to grab them.

Does anyone know what stores give you credit? I did not know that any do. Does Target? Walmart?

thanks in advance

Anon 6:40 AM - Target is supposed to start giving credit. Kroger gives $.05 per bag. Other local stores do it here but those are the only chains that I know do it.

Whereabouts in the store are these located at?? Would totally buy one for the credit. I already have so many bags.

is there any way to link 2 different CVS cards together?

some quarters I miss the % bonus because I only spent 16 or 22...minimum is spending 25 before they let you receive the quarterly bonus.

I think I'll have to cash out my ECB from one of my cards, it is difficult (stressful) to keep track of ECB w/which card/etc.
