Just an FYI on the Neosporin Lip Care .... I was at Target tonight and there are peelies on some of them for BOGO. So I got 4 for 68 cents!!!

They were $3.59 ea at my Target in CA, but still a great deal! Thanks

Just a heads up: Just went over my receipt and the Target register only deducted $3. of the $6. in coupons so I am going to have to go back tomorrow :-(. They do show up correctly on the receipt:$1.50 MQ, $1.50 MQ and $3.TQ - it just didn't subtract - this has happened to me before so please read those receipts!

I have just started to coupon and I have been so frustrated! For example, I took my three coupons to Target, went to check out with the two items and the clerk said, "I hate to tell you but since the coupon has the same numbers on them, I can only accept one." After reading posts on this site I said, "are you sure?" The clerk said, "Yes, we aren't allowed to accept two of the same numbered coupon because you may have copied them on a color printer and tried to scam us!" I was mortified...right there in front of everyone standing behind me (who were already getting restless because I was keeping them waiting) he accused me of being a crook. I told him that the site allowed me to print two of the same coupon and that's how they came out and he said he still couldn't accept them. I asked for a manager who told the clerk to void the transaction (since everyone behind me was getting mad) and he took me to the service desk. It ended up costing me 78 cents (better than almost $2 that the clerk wanted to charge me). The clerk gave me such a dirty look as I had to walk past him to leave the store. I KNOW I wasn't doing anything wrong, but I sure felt terrible!

Lynne you know I was wondering that as well. I have had some totals that didn't seem right even though the coupon was listed. I have always just made sure the coupon was on the receipt but now I will do the math. I try to add up what the total amount of my coupons should remove from my total before I get to the register. Of course that only works if they ring up everything first and then take the coupons off. Yesterday the cashier at Target rang one item up at a time and then looked for the coupon and scanned it which took forever!

Its' some sort of computer glitch - the coupons are listed - $6 worth and yet the sub total reads $4.18 instead of $1.18! Even with the tax, it is way off. Back I go today to see what happens... Last time I just let it slide...but this is ticking off my frugal nature! LOL...

For those of you having the target trouble - it appears like the coupons haven't come off - when you look at the receipt it lists them but the total in the break-out section for that item doesn't seem to reflect it. I did the degree deal today and it too shows me that my package total was 3.58 but when I added up my receipt and subtracted everything it does work out. Not sure why target does it this way. I think it is showing the package total, reflecting target coupons, just not the MQs - anyone have any thoughts?

Target receipts are confusing especially if your doing a gift card deal. The best thing to do is know what coupons you used and their amounts and then check your receipt to make sure your totals are correct.

Anonymous said...

Anon 6:46am - I would immediately complain to corporate for treating you that way! At Target.com, ALL the store coupons have the same number. It is totally unacceptable for them to imply that you were doing something wrong.

Any time I see a package subtotal that does not include all my coupons: usually the missing manufacturer q is below all the package subtotals, above my final cost.

I was able to print 4 of the $1.50 off coupons and 2 of the $3 Target coupons...that makes for double the deal! Thanks for the information.

Since Walmart matches competitor's ads, would they honor this coupon? I've seen them turn down a Kroger catalina before but didn't know if that was just that particular cashier...I'd love to do this degree deal (or something close to this deal) at Walmart. Target is 1 hour away from me. :(

Anonymous 1:16 PM I did take your advice and email Target my experience. After thinking about it, I thought you were absolutely right...especially in this economy, they need to train their clerks how to treat customers respectfully. We'll see if I even hear back from them (Anonymous 4:46AKA Lori)

They break things down that way on the target receipts so that you can't return things and get full value for it. Not that any of us would do that. But lots of people would. Too bad a few bad target apples ruin it for the rest of us.

Did anyone else do the math and come up with $3.xx per purchase of 2 sets? My DH went over the Target receipt and said they charged me corrently when I used 3 coupons per set. He said the math on this blog is wrong. He said what Target charged me was correct.
