Walgreens: FREE Bandages + $0.51 Profit!

Walgreens has a great deal on Band-Aid Character bandages that I highlighted in the weekly deals! Here's how to turn it into a moneymaker:

Band-Aids Character bandages 20-25 ct regularly priced around $3.99

Use the $0.50/1 manufacturer coupon from the 8/2SS
Then use the $2/1 Walgreens coupon from Walgreens Coloring book
And finally use the in ad coupon
(which will make the Character bandages $1.99 each)
Final cost FREE + a $0.51 moneymaker!

**The key is to hand the coupons over in the order above! That way no coupons will beep and you'll still get the $0.51 in coupon overage to go toward other purchases!

**Also, remember, you can buy more than one of these Character bandages and you still only have to use one Walgreens in ad coupon and coloring book coupon--they will deduct the correct amount for as many as you'd like to purchase!

(Thanks, Mandy!)

Where in the store do you find the coloring book?

Thanks so much, Hip, for all you do, especially the specific deals and reminders.

Do in-ad coupons count towards your item to coupon ratio? Or would these bandaids coount as fillers if you don't have the manuf coupon?

GRRRRRR! I cannot find this walgreens coloring book now at our stores! They carried it before, but when I asked at two different stores they had NO idea what I was talking about. I wish that you could order them online. And...to top it all off...we really need those bandaids around here!

I am doubtful this will work- because everytime I try to use the Huggies in-ad coupons with the Huggies Wags Coloring book coupon the register declines it. The cashiers, (even my favorite nice ones) say because both are Wags coupons you can't use both. So I would like to know if anyone is able to do this!

PS- Hope- no, In-Ad coupons do NOT count with the coupons ratios- only RRs and manufactor coupons do.

The Metcalf family - I believe people do sell them on Ebay, you could check there. If you do a Buy It Now you MIGHT get it before the sale ends.

Letty - I did this deal a couple times yesterday and it worked beautifully. No beeps and no questions asked.

Worked for me too, no beeps. :)

I did this deal and so far I have 30 boxes of bandaid for free!!
10 to keep at home and 20 for donation.

So do you get your coupon from the coloring book back or do you need to have more than 1 if you want to buy more than 3 packages?

Kristin said...

Nichol - since it's a Walgreens Q it will deduct $2.00 for as many items you bought. So if you buy 3 boxes of band aids it will automatically deduct $6.00. One coupon, one scan :-)

Bet Wags probably put the coloring books away because of the deal???

Sometimes they don't realize how resourceful couponers can be. :-) Just a thought.

Just a note: the in-ad coupon says "limit of 3". I'm going to try this out today and get my limit! Who can pass up free band-aids with a 2-year-old!? Plus, they are great stocking stuffers!

On the coupon from the coloring book it says off regular retail price, so how does that work?

Anonymous said...

Just a word of warning...I did this exact deal this morning and it didn't work right :(. Here was my transaction

3 Band-Aids $3.79 ea

then I used the Coloring Book coupon, which deducted $6...

HOWEVER, I then gave the $1.99 in-ad coupon, but it only deducted $3.60 for all 3 Band-Aids.

Any help on how to get this fixed and what happened to make the transaction go wrong would be greatly appreciated.

When I looked in my coloring coupon book. the bandaid coupon was only for $1 off. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Deal worked great, I did it yesterday. Posted here, http://www.acouponchick.com/2009/10/drugstore-deals-this-week.html

We don't have that coupon in our ad in Colorado :( super bummed!!

Anonymous 9:41 who didn't get the band aid coupon in Colorado, i'm in Oklahoma (Tulsa area) and i have the ad. Email me at vickham.hooki at gmail dot com with an address i can send it to if you would like for me to mail it to you. We're close enough it should get there by Saturday.

So a little tip if it's not in your ad. Colin actually told me this. Put in another zip code, like 93720. They have the 16 page ad and you can click on the coupon and print just that one coupon. I am going to try it today.

The coloring book coupon does say only valid on reg priced items though.

I already had the coupon book, but when browsing the clearance section at Wags yesterday, I saw that the coloring books were there and marked down to 49 cents each. I bought two more. My CVS accepts competitor coupons, so I've been using Wags coupons there when I can, and this coloring book works great for that!!

By the way, our Wags was out of the character band-aids, so I asked for a raincheck. That way I can pick them up another week!

I did this deal yesterday. I used my coupons in your same order, and it worked! But the in-ad coupon says 'limit 3' for the $1.99 price, so I did it in multiples of 3.

For Letty with the Huggies coupon in the Coloring book, I've discovered that it isn't coded properly to work for Pull-Ups, but it works every time for Snug & Dry.

For Anonymous who said the deal didn't work right, here's why. You have to have an extra item to absorb the few pennies of overage from each coupon. If your final coupon would make your total negative, then it won't go through. I tried buying 3 boxes alone, and my Coloring Book Coupon took off $6, but then my in-ad only took off $4 (instead of $6), because if it took off for the final box, the subtotal would be negative. Make sense? Just make sure you've got a filler item for the overage.

I wish I could find this magical but elusive Walgreens coloring book!!! I have 3 kiddos ages 4 and under and could SOOOOO use the Bandaids!!!!!

Michelle,

I COMPLETELY understand....thank you SOOOOOOO much :)! I felt like a moron for not being able to figure out what went wrong, but now I get it, thanks to your explanation. You rock and thank you again!

I've looked and looked at multiple walgreens and can't find the magical coloring book either! Such a bummer.

I found the coloring book in the clearance section of Wags for only 49 cents!

I love the comments on this blog!!!

I did get 6 boxes of Bandaids today. My Walgreens isn't strict on the in ad quantities as long as you don't abuse their leniency. =)

I could have gotten more, but I am going to stop at a couple of other Walgreens later in the week so as not to deplete stock anywhere! We have a lot of Bandaids, but I rarely but the cute ones because they are so pricey!

Off topic-- I had a yard sale last Sat. and put out some new items that I had gotten for free ( or less than free) after rebates, coupons, etc. Some were things that I just had a ton of like shampoo and others were medicines, etc. that we would never use that were not expired.

When I first started couponing seriously, I was overeager and ended up with a lot of cold/flu stuff, etc. that we won't use that much of.

Anyway, I had made up gift baskets using .25 baskets I bought from Kroger after Easter with bath and baby products and I sold those for $5- $10; a deal for the consumer, but I still made a lot off of them.

Also, the other products for $1 - $2 and profited from them as well.I sold some of the .49 witch hazel that I just bought @ Walgreens and 2 people were ecstatic to buy it because they had just paid over $4 for it at Wal-Mart.

I still donate to shelters, nursing homes, etc. and encourage others to do the same, but I thought I would mention it here for those that might not have thought to resell things and have shampoo and toothpaste running out of their ears LOL!

Just an idea. My walgreens will honor their in store coupons as long as you have the 4 digit code. The code from the coloring book is 2031 for those of you who don't have it. You can ring up your items and ask your cashier to put in that code and see if they will do it. Then you can scan the in ad coupon. Just a thought for those who don't have the coloring book. Good luck!

Sweeeet, got 4 boxes today FREE! Gunna go get more :)

I think there were some other 50c coupons. Does anyone remember which older insert they came from?

Ok I finally found the coloring book a few weeks back for the neosporin deal. I used that coupon several times no problem each time cashier returned it to me saying I could use these coupons over and over until they expire in March. Today a different cashier was there and she wanted to keep the coupon and since I know she is new I told her I got to keep this from what I was told. She said they've had meetings and now we don't get to keep those. I disagreed so she said ok you can have it back but before she handed to me she dotted it with a marker and said she had to so other cashiers knew it had been used! I'm confused! Are they only 1 time use or not and how do we explain to cashier and some managers when half the time they don't know themselves.

Lolo said...

Good point I keep forgetting about the coupon and I have just been getting them free and using the bandages as my fillers, but if I can save another $.50 per box, I can buy some fillers :)

Worked for me . . . thanks!
30 boxes of band-aid? that does seem crazy and just because you're going to donate them doesn't make it okay.

I found the coloring/activity book back by the pharmacy.

I'm from Indiana and the bandaids coupon was only for $1 off.

I tried to buy the bandaids, but they wouldn't let me use the color book coupon and the in-ad coupon. The manager said I couldn't use both because the coloring book coupon says, "not valid with any other offer." Grrr.

this deal worked for me today in San Antonio, TX. They scanned both coupons and the .50 manuf. coupon. So, a small money-maker deal! However, they DID TAKE THE COUPON, which makes sense. However, I've used the coloring book coupons for the Huggies deal this week, so VERY worth the .99 cents for the book. I've only found the coloring books at one of the Walgreens stores here, and they were on that area kinda beside wear the shopping carts are and by the second row of registers.

I broke down and bought 2 off of ebay. But they came in the mail today so I can do the band aid and the huggies deal! I'm just hoping my stores have the products in stock :)

I got three boxes of BandAids. But, the register at my Wags only took off the $2 coloring book coupon once even though it took off the in-ad Q three times. I caught the problem before I left, so the asst mgr was called. He insisted that I would need 3 coloring book Qs to apply to 3 items. He was unflexible about it, so I returned 2 of the boxes and got my money back on them. He kept the coloring book Q (since it was used on 1 BandAid purchase). :-( I probably should have returned all three boxes, kept my Q and gone to another store! :-(
