Staples: $25 worth of FREE Sharpie Products!

UPDATE: It looks like the deal is DEAD!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Staples is starting one of their Cyber Monday deals early and offering up $25 worth of Sharpie products for FREE--yes, FREE! All you need to do is go on over here and add at least $25 worth of Sharpie products to you cart. At checkout you're suppose to be able to use coupon code 96140, but currently it's not working. At this point, to bypass the online problem, you can actually call 1-800-891-0195 and put your order in over the phone. Just tell them what item numbers you have in your online cart and then you'll be able to tell them the coupon code (which will deduct $25). Please keep in mind that there is a long wait, but $25 worth of FREE Sharpie products may just be worth it, right?!

***Also, you can choose site to store shipping and you'll ONLY pay around $0.59... so basically you'll be getting $25 worth of products for around $0.59! Yay!

Stay tuned for many more Cyber Monday deals to come...

(Thanks, MojoSavings & ShoppingFrugal!)

Just go to staples.com and look up the stuff you want and add it to your cart (note: most stuff is out of stock). Then call the number and they'll credit you amount you put on your card. I did shipping to a store to score free shippping. They also credited me the entire amount of 26.57, not just 25! Also I only waited 5 minutes on the line before I got through!

When I call it says the # is closed? It is just too late? Also how long is this good for? I am very confused.

Unfortunately, they are closed now, so I am going to wait until morning to order this. Actually, I am going to try it again at midnight, to see if the code works as of 11/29. I don't want to go through a hassle, even for this great deal.

Anonymous said...

I get the closed message too. Brea, what number did you call?

angeline saby said...

also the offer is not limited to what you see on that page do a site search for sharpie lots of other products still avail.

Bonnie/AR said...

I didn't have to wait at all on the phone. Also they have specials on some of the Avery labels-50% off with a coupon code that will show up.

Do be sure to put your items in the 'cart' when you find them, as all of my items came up with a different (more) price that what was listed online, and of course she gave me what was listed online when I mentioned it.

Order all of your items first, then ask for a total. Then do your coupon codes. You can get various ones from the Staples site, as well as use various ones that you find online.

My total coupons came to $73.96, but I decided to use them and get printer ink rather than let them go to waste, and a Christmas gift.

P.S. There is free shipping if your order is over $50.

Called the number at the bottom of the Staples.com page, not the number on my key tag.

Do the Duracell battery deal with this and get free shipping to your home. Woo Hoo! Thanks Hip2save, I got 40 AA Batteries and 25 dollars worth of sharpies for less than 6 bucks!

Anonymous said...

I did this deal earlier this evening. I added 2-20 packs of AA Duracell batteries to the Sharpie order. It put me over the $50 mark and qualified me for free shipping. But....the batteries are FREE after the Staples reward rebate! Great time to stock up on batteries with the holidays around the corner.

Bonnie/AR what other coupons did you use?

Anonymous said...

Don't forget to go through ebates to get 2% Cash back

Anonymous said...

Do the Staples rewards come off right away, or is it like a rebate?

Anonymous said...

When I ordered my Sharpies earlier, I called the 800 number, and it stated to receive the deal, place the order online then call again later in the week to fix the problem.

Mindy R said...

Deal didn't work for me

Anonymous said...

The Staples reward is a rebate-I asked if I needed to input info from the sale on the website while I had the rep on the phone. She said 'no' it was 'automatic'. (I think that's b/c it was a phone order.) I think that you do need to sign up for register rewards if you're new to the program. I don't do too many Staples deals, but this deal was too good to pass up! If someone else is more familiar with the Rewards program at Staples-pls chime in!

It keeps telling me that the coupon code has expired. Should I just keep trying? Has anyone gotten this to work in the last few minutes? THANKS!!!

i just placed an oder for in-store shipping and will call in AM to get it adjusted. Total came to $25.56, free shipping.

Is it before or after subtotal?

Erma said...

how do you use the coupon if you're going to do the site to store?

Anonymous said...

that was subtotal before tax. i will call them and say that the coupon did not work. it doesn't matter is it's site to store or site to home

and if they give you a hard time, they have a 100% return policy so you can just cancel the order

When I use the link and go to the site and click on the sharpie markers it just shows me a blank screen. Also when I try to add it to my cart it just shows a blank screen. They must be having issues with the site because of all the orders.

It keeps telling me that the coupon code has expired! Should I still place the order and then call in the morning? Can they cancel the order if they said it was truly expired?

I just spent 20 minutes looking for items to add to my cart, finally found $26.00 worth but now coupon is expired. It says there is no store near me anyway (even though there is one down the street) and shipping would have cost over $9 so I guess I don't need them.

I did the deal earlier (around 8 PM) along with the batteries to get free shipping. The I sent them an e-mail with my online receipt and the promo code with the request for them to honor the promo. I'll check back tomorrow.

if you put 4 of the Sharpie® Ultra Fine Point Permanent Markers, Black and one of the Sharpie® Pens, Ultra Fine Point, Blue, Dozen it should come to 25.15... or 15 cents after the promo code.

Also told me the coupon was expired.

Bummer that I just saw this...I think I am too late...most of the Sharpie products I am trying to add to my cart are 'out of stock'.

Anonymous said...

Just tried it this morning and the coupon says expired on the website and the # to call says no one will be there until 7am ET. I'll try back then.

Anonymous said...

Yup - had to wait a sec on the phone but got it this morning.

The deal started yesterday. I did it in the afternoon. If there is anything left, you should be able to place the order and call. Call this number, 1-800-891-0195. While the hold times yesterday were over 2 hours on the regular number, this number kept me on hold for like 2 minutes! They credited me back a bit more than the $25, no problems! But like I said, even yesterday afternoon they were limited on what was left. Good luck!

Steph said...

14 cents out the door for 30 markers. You Rock Collin!!!!!!

Place your order than call and have customer service correct it. That's what I did. I use these a lot so score for me!

Justin said...

I also called 1-800-891-0195 and got right through! I pressed one for customer service, the first two times it was "busy" and then I called back. Read my product numbers from online, then the associate applied the coupon code without me even having to ask. Total was $.55 for a lot of Sharpie stuff. Thanks, Collin!

Anonymous said...

I did what Justin did above, and got right through. My total was $1.07. Beautiful!

TeRetta said...

The code is NOT working. You have to place your order, first. Then, call the 800 number for them to credit your account:(

Anonymous said...

I ordered like Justin said and I got through right away. I ordered the batteries too since we need them all the time along with the Sharpies, this is a fantastic deal! Thank you so much for all you do and thanks Justin for the additional info.

To answer a few posts-sorry for the length, but hope this helps.

The coupon codes I used were $30 off order of $150; $25 of Sharpies free; 4 codes for Avery labels; $12 ink rebate credit.

To get the register rewards for the batteries, you will need to be signed up for the program before you purchase them and it will automatically credit your account, is my understanding. I believe it also says you can purchase 2 pkgs per week.

I have found that for myself it is much easier for me to have my item numbers, prices, quantities, etc. ready, and then phone in the order and verify the prices with them. No hassles as to web sites not working, etc.

Yes, I love Staples and have used them for a long time!

Just got off the phone--only took about 10 minutes! Got my order shipped to the store--only paid $2.50--I hate tax! $1.75 of that was tax! Oh well, this was a great deal! :-)

I ordered a multi-pack of Sharpies, plus to Pink Ribbon ones. With delivery to the store, my order came to 18 cents! And to think I had to put the 18 cents on my credit card :) Wahoo!

Anonymous said...

that was awesome...I was hesitant to call, because I didn't want to wait forever to talk to someone, but they answered right away, and I was only put on hold shortly, while she "fixed" the coupon code.

Also, no shipping for site to store :)

Mrs Save Alot said...

ook here is the deal when i just spoke to the rep. you need to place the order, then call back later for the discount to be taken off your card. they said a company email just went out about it and that it takesa about 30 minutes after you place your order for it to show in their system so you have to place the order then call back to get the discount to your credit card. ugh.

Anonymous said...

Just did this deal this morning on the west coast. Worked just fine when I called the 800#. The guy said they were having probs with the code online but put my order through just fine! Did the site to store for free shipping and my total was only 2.11 after tax. There is still alot of good stuff left! Lots of highlighters and cool metallic gold and silver pens (I'm using these for holiday cards!), and regular markers. Thanks a ton!!

I called Staples and was on hold for 45 minutes. The customer service person then told me that I had to spend $50 in Sharpie products to get $25 off. Finally talked to a supervisor who was very helpful and completed my order without a problem. I spent $1 on $25 worth of product! yay!

Julia said...

Was just told by customer service that they just found out the deal has expired.

fran said...

When I was on the phone with customer service, the girl I spoke with told me the coupon code can be used in store also...so if you just want to go to the store to do the deal, you can...you have to go to the store anyway to pick up your Sharpies...just a thought. I didn't want to give credit card #, or bother with a virtual #, so I will have my husband fax a copy of a check for $.38.
They actually take off more than $25.00...you also get the tax on the $25.00, which is the correct way to use a store coupon...my coupon code took off $26.75.

Thanks Collin...great deal:)

The Thorn Family said...

Called 2 dozen times before I got through. Waited only 10 minutes. The associate helped me find some Sharpie products still in stock. Ended up getting some mini-highlighters and 2 12 packs of assorted ultra-fine tip sharpies! Shipped site-to-store. Total $2.75!! YAY!!! There were only 11 of the 12 packs left! Hurry Hurry!

Anonymous said...

GOT IT, thanks!! 43 cents!! took about 10 minutes and most of that is because i screwed up the shipping option of shipping it to my store so she helped correct that. my husband is going to be so happy about this one.

Anonymous said...

I just ordered 7 calligraphy pens (only because they were out of everything else) and they are shipping it to my house for free because it was my first time ordering. I did have to wait on hold for 35 minutes though but it only cost $3.11. Yay!

Anonymous said...

Staples - That WAS easy!!! I was on hold less than a minute! I had to actually check out and then be credited. My checkout total was $29.30 and the credit is $27.75 so only $1.55!!! Whoo Hoo!!!

Finally got through:) Total was $1.07!! Yippeee!!!

Julie said...

You just need to place your order and then call. They want the order # so they can give you the credit back! I called the first time and was waiting for like 20 minutes. So I hung up and called back and it was busy. I tried 4 more times and then she picked up on the 1st ring! They are so nice about it too! She waited while I placed my order and then when I was done, fixed it for me :) Thanks Sharpie and It's Hip to Save!!!!!

Hum, I was trying to order this online (the things I wanted were in stock) but now the coupon is saying it's expired. I thought the deal ran through today? Should I just go ahead and call customer service? Also, do they give you any slack if you only order the Sharpie products?

Sarah said...

1030AM est and i just placed an order. if you do a search for all sharpie objects, there's still quite a bit left in stock. The customer service rep i spoke with confirmed that the coupon code will not work online, but can only be used over the phone. I did have to wait about 20 minutes, but for 2 dozen sharpies for less than $2, it's worth it to me. Good luck!

Love you. Couldn't read on Sunday, but I'm back!

Deal took ten minutes. All large multi packs sold out. Try smaller packs unless you want same color 12 packs. This should save time.

My shipping to store was free. Totally Free for me. I had to order one extra marker to get over 25.00 so this cost me 90 cents. If I could have made a perfect 25.00 it would have been free. Call in check out was less than ten minutes.

I just have to tell you that...YOU ROCK! I just love that you try to save us all money! I just paid $.10!! Yay me!

keep in Mind it HAS TO BE at least $25. pre tax. so that is your subtotal. You have to put the money on your card. call their # and give them your order #. and it will be off your card by tomorrow. Mine was just over $2. Be prepared to wait If you are calling soon. I was on hold for 35 min. Then it took another bit of time because my subtotal was under $25. so I had to find something else. They are very nice though.

Forever on phone and told they just got word that they are sold out. Didn't need them that bad anyway. Congrats to all that got these.

I had a Staples Reward Cert. that I used and had to call also as the coupon said it was expired. I called the number on my Reward Cert. which got me directly thru and fast. 1-800-333-3330. I also bought the Duracell Batteries that they have on special this week. You buy the special 20 packs (16pk w/ 4 bonus) AA and/or AAA and you will get a Staples reward for the full amount back. I believe that reward is coming in January. So, basically got a bunch of Sharpies AND 40 batteries for FREE! Gotta love it, especially since I used my Staples Reward Cert to buy all that, and got the free shipping to my home since my total order was just over $50, but paid only $2.08. I didn't think I'd still get the free shipping after the Sharpies coupon, but I did!

Anonymous said...

FYI - If you want to pick up your order at the store, tell them BEFORE you order.

Purchased $25.86 of sharpie products & 2 sets of batteries on Sunday. Called back this morning 7:40 am PST & was on hold for over 10 mins. I decided to try another number posted by Linda: 1-800-891-0195. 1st try was busy, hit redial & 1 for customer service & it was answered right away. Provided my order # & was credited $25. I didn't even have to tell him why I was calling. He was very nice & it took about 2-3 mins.

Melissa Brouillette said...

Just got mine! $2.05 for 32 markers!!! Thank you Thank you! My hubby uses these at our business, and goes through them like crazy! I just saved $30 dollars!

Anonymous said...

They are not out of stock. Just certain items are. You can search Sharpies on their site. You don't have to get the ones that pop up when you click on the special.

The deal is still good, you just need to call. The coupon showing as expired is just a glitch. It's good all day today, CyberMonday. The multiple color packs are pretty much sold out but there are lots of other Sharpies.

Also, place the order online but don't complete it. It will be easy to read the item numbers off of for the phone order.

Staples is getting on my last nerve with their call waits, their misinformation about this...everyone is getting different answers. ugh I have spent way to much time on this deal already. I have my order placed. spoke to 3 different reps, the order is not showing in their system, keep telling me to call back to get it credited and that because i have the order placed it will be credited, but no other orders going forward will be credited, the deal is over as per them. I just dont trust them that they are going to credit it so I have to keep ontop of this one. Sucks. I cant stand when companies do these freebies and then dont have the capacity to handle them. ugh

I placed my order last night and was planning to call this morning to get the credit. I woke up this morning to an email saying one of the items I purchased was out of stock. I finally got through to customer service and he said they had another warehouse that he could get that item from and was going to credit me back for the entire order - $27.xx. Awesome!

Monica said...

The first time I called I waited 16 minutes and the rep told me the deal was over. I called back (waited another 12 minutes) and the second rep informed me that the deal ended around 10:30 but that she would try it and it worked!!! Woo Hoo! Thanks Hip2Save! You are awesome!!

Kristin said...

MrsSaveAlot - I wouldn't stress out too much about it if I were you. I would give them some time to get your order in the system and try back when they're not as busy. If they're not willing to credit you then you can always just return your items for a full refund. It sounds like they're honoring the orders that were placed before the deal ended so you shouldn't have an issue. They honored mine with no problems.

Mrs Save Alot said...

did anyone get a confirmation e-mail from them....i am spaking to a rep that said they are holding all orders at the warehouse and not filling the ordrers...i am waiting to talk to a manager now

Mrs Save Alot said...

just spoke with a manager and they are sending it out to be delivered to my home tomorrow...whole order 3 cents!!! this deal is a lot of work and too much time but I had too much time invested already so I had to make it work. She did say the deal is over now though and that if the order was placed and you dont get a confirmation e-mail from them about the order, it will not be placed. so frustrating. So check your e-mail boxes and make sure you printed off your confirm in case you need it.

Shian said...

I ordered and called to have them correct it. I was told the Sharpie deal was no longer available! Yuck, now I'm going to have them cancel my order. I can drive two blocks to buy the rest of my items without paying shipping.

Deal is dead, but it doesn't make sense that when you look up to purchase sharpies, it still advertises for $25 in free sharpie products. Lame!

Megan said...

Anyone know how long we have to wait to get the credit? I show they have already charged my card, but no credit.

Mrs Save Alot said...

when I spoke to the manager it seems they are not going to honor the deal unless you got a confirmation e-mail that it went through or you speak to a manager. A lot of the orders are not even in their system. If your credit card was charged it means that your order went through, but now you need to speak to a rep to get it credited...if they will even do that now. I think it depends on what time your order went through if they will credit you. This deal turned out to be a mess on staples end. I just got a call from their rep calling me back to let me know that the deal did in fact go through for 3 cents and to expect the delivery to my house tomorrow afternoon. yay good luck and make sure to call them if your credit card was charged.

They are cancelling orders, despite a confirmation email. I just talked with them after they sent me an email saying they were out of one of the things I ordered. I called and they said all orders placed after 10:30 are being cancelled. I was 10:39.

Mrs Save Alot said...

that is what they told me earlier, only that they were canceling orders that did not get the e-mail confirmation yet on the order processing and being shipped. otherwise they are not honoring the deal. I got a confirmation phone call after speaking to the manager that my order is processed and will be here tomorrow, so they may call you to tell you your order is confirmed or e-mail you. i hope we all get our stuff, if not, this is just the nature of the beast, sometimes this happens with these companies. :-( just have to expect it when trying to get these awesome deals right?

Later got an e-mail that one item is out of stock. I called and they have "no Sharpies" at all left, BUT the order is on it's way at REGULAR PRICE MINUS the cost of the out of stock item and can't be stopped.

If I'm home I can refuse delivery or I can call customer service to pick up the package.

The woman apologized, but that's no excuse. I authorized charges to my credit card of $1.06 NOT $17 and am REALLY ANNOYED. BAD BUSINESS to charge me for more than I agreed to w/ out my permission!!!!!!!

i went to Staples today on a separate note to make a return and grabbed $25 worth of Sharpie items to see if it'd work. all i did was show the girl the code from my iPhone and she entered it. the total was .08 cents!!!! i was so excited. i actually went back and grabbed some more for my dad & did another transaction. the worker was excited i got such a great deal and so was i!!!!

Yeah i got a confirmation email and then an email just now saying that one of the items was out of stock. I really hope they don't charge my regular price for the rest of them. What is it with companies posting those deals and not being able to handle the processing????

Mine went through and I got confirmation and then an email cancellation of the order that basically said, "too bad, we're not honoring the deal." My nasty email is on it's way. I have no problem with them not doing these deals, but to renig on the ones that have already been processed (and credit cards charged) is poor business practice imo.

It appears mine has shipped to the store for pick up today. Also, the "pending" charge on my card is now gone. So far, I have been charged nothing for the pens. I am not complaining, just a little confused. I guess we shall see.

Today I got an email saying a couple items were out of stock, so I called up just now to see how that was going to work, since my total of sharpies wouldnt be $25..(wondering if i would be credited) and it turns out they are going to credit me the original amount ($27 and some odd change) even though my order is like $14 now after the out-of-stock issue....so they are giving me the $13 for...."my trouble"
I'll take it! Hopefully this transpires on my credit statement as well as the customer service rep said!

I emailed them yesterday morning about the code not working (around 9am), and I got a email from them today saying that I could place my order today and then call and they would still honor the $25 off. They said that as long as you emailed or placed your order before 10:30am yesterday they would still honor it. I just placed my oder now, and called and she gave me the credit! Only 28 cents for 37 sharpies!

Picked mine up from the store yesterday:) Not sure if the customer service rep entered something wrong, but I was charged nothing for the sharpies!!! Thanks Colin!!

I lied. My account now shows a $28charge. I better see a credit soon, or all these sharpies will be making thier way right on back to Staples.

My original post was Mon Nov 30, 04:11:00 PM....

UPDATE -
Megan call them again... it may work out.

My order was delivered and I called customer service again today. Spoke to a woman who credited my whole order, so I got my Sharpies (minus the out of stock item) for FREE!! So they did honor the deal, contrary to what I was told the other day.

I am very happy now and will order again from Staples.
