WAAY WRONG PLACE BUT - I have to share!

Just got back from Best Buy. Target was out of Monsters INC and no Target within 100 miles had it. SO i had an idea. I took my handy dandy Target ad, my $10 Target Q and my 2 MFR Q for Monster's INC and UP.

BEST BUY HONORED TARGET'S COUPON! SO Best Buy matched Target's Up price of 19.99 AND gave me the monter's for the advertised 18.99 AND took the Target coupon AND the two MFR Q!

Here's to asking nicely for what you want and getting it!

(On a horrible note - we also found out today we need a new furnace! Thank god for saving money in other ways.)

In another post you talked about the November Healthy Savings Booklet, where can I find that at? I'm new to the whole Walgreens couponing. Heck, the entire store...

Anonymous said...

My November Savings Book was right up front to the sides of the Walgreens ads that you can pick up when you walk in the store.

Abby said...

Couponing4myTacoma where did you do this and how much did you pay for each movie final price?

Anonymous said...

Sweet! I too will be going first thing in the morning! I LOVE it! :)

Anonymous said...

Im not understanding why my Wags is no longer going to carry the in-store coupon books, Doesnt make any since!!!!

Anonymous said...

I meant to post this a coupla days ago and forgot. My Wags had the Nexus shampoos and conditioners clearanced for $7.99ea, so $3.99 with their coupon. Not a great deal, but if you only use this kind, it's a good deal.

Anonymous said...

So if i bought 4 mousse, it would automatically adjust and wont need a filler???

Anonymous said...

Forgot to add this to the above ^^^

For the Almay mascara we needed a filler so it wouldnt be the same for the Nexxus Mousse?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, could I buy 4 mousse for free?

Anonymous said...

not a filler for coupon beeps but because an additional dollar wouldnt have been taken off. Like I messed up the tissues a little today and did not have enough so i got charged 77 cents because the register would not allow it to take off the 3rd dollar because I had no other items for the overage to go to.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone here done this deal yet,my walgreens does not always let it do two.

Anonymous said...

where is this deal posted that there is a sale? I cant find it in the ad?

Anonymous said...

In theory you could do 4 mousse for free, but I think you would have to do 2 transactions (it says limit one coupon per customer per offer). Colin will verify though!

Anonymous said...

No it is not the same as the almay. No filler needed buy two Nexxus Mousse Plus 2oz.and $5 will come off. HTH!

I just did this at my store. Bought 3 at 2.50 a piece. She scanned the book and it beeped and she was all, "It says NOT for the trial size." And I told her that those weren't the trial size...they were the SMALLER size. I told her that she scanned the wrong coupon when she swung the book by the register and that she should type it in. After arguing for about a minute she FINALLY typed it in. WHAT DO YOU KNOW!? It worked. And she was mad about it. :)

It took off $7.50 total. No need for fillers.

Leesa said...

I'm not talking about the regular monthly coupon booklet, but the Healthy Savings Booklet. Where can I find that one at?

Leesa- Mine was back by the pharmacy

I got both little canisters of Nexxus mousse but it was a hassle. The cashier kept telling me it would not work since it says "excludes trial size" and kept insisting this was a trial size. She said if it's the smallest on the shelf, it is a trial regardless if it says it on the can or not. I asked if we could ask the Manager decide, which I am happy he said "If it allows it, then let her have it." And the first total showed $4.87 or such and I disputed the price being wrong, But the glade's didn't want to ring up right and so after a couple minutes, I think the Manager adjusted the prices and so with an oreo brownie as a filler or whatever, I paid $1.50.

Great deal! I'm glad I haven't made my trip to Walgreens this week!

Anonymous said...

I do wish someone would explain the filler item need and reason for amounts. Anon 8:56, you're the first to make a little sense of all of the filler item purpose. And if your post is what all of it is about, is it possible to pay the majority of taxes with RR or is that a no? I have noticed sometimes when I throw in a caramel as a filler for .33 cents that it's not enough and it usually takes 4 caramels (last month same thing with the pencils) as fillers to get the amount over a dollar mark to let all my scenerios work.

Anonymous said...

"buy 8 which equals $12.00 and then it will deduct the coupon for 3 which is $12.00!"

Wouldn't 8 be $20?

Heads up about the coupon auto adjusting. At my Walgreens it will not adjust, It simply will not take enough off for 2 it will only take off enough for 1. Oops sorry about my calculations previously LOL I was a bit distracted and was not paying close attention to what I was writing. I removed that post and have reposted it now. The deal is this: In order to get it to come out evenly you need to buy 8 which equals $20.00 and then it will deduct the coupon for 5 of the 8 items which is $20.00! Therefore all you pay is tax. So that is how it should work. I will go try it tonight.

Anonymous said...

This is for the Anonymous asking about fillers. You can not have more coupons than items and this includes Register Rewards. So if I have 5 items that I intend to buy ( or get for free heee heee)and I have a coupon for each plus I want to use two RR, than I will need two addition fillers to avoid the 'beep'. I also do not believe that you can use the RR to pay for the tax, it always beeps when I get to that point.
Just an idea for fillers for anyone wanting some ideas- I use the store brand pudding. I think it is 3 for a dollar (but you do have to buy three or it is a little more expensive).

trash2cash4u said...

Comments are helpful but they can get confusing, too LOL!

I will probably try the Nexxus deal tomorrow and let y'all know the results.

You cannot use RRs to pay for tax and unfortunately at my Walgreens they cannot tell me the pre-tax total so it can be trial and error.

I did the Kleenex deal this morning. The cashier limited me to the 3 per transaction -- she was nice about it, but is an older lady and "rule follower" which is fine. Good thing the Klennex MQ was for .50 off 3!!

Anyway... I bought a total of 12 boxes ( I usually go to more than 1 store when I buy a lot, but I didn't have time and their shelves were full!) and for each transaction, I purchased 2 of the Christmas bags that were 8/$1 with in ad coupon. 4 transactions at .28 each so $1.12 total for 12 boxes of Kleenex and 8 gift bags!

I am teaching my first couponing workshop tomorrow night -- great example to show!

Just did this deal - thanks! Great travel size mousse for free, can't beat that.

I love my Walgreens!! There is a cashier there who does all the deals herself (she hadn't heard of this one though!) so she is a great help and does everything so it will work.

She saw me come in and found me by the Glade and told me it wasn't working and neither was the kleenex. I didn't have the new healthy savings book anyway. She was going to go to one of our other stores tomorrow and get some! So I will try those again tomorrow.

I did 4 Glade sprays. I had a buy one get one and the in ad coupon so I got 4 for $2.07 which was fine for me. Got 1 free juice too. I didn't try a peelie - I had a $1.00 off from the Rice Krispies that had coupons in it. I used a $2.00 RR so paid $.72 for 4 Glade, 2 Nexus Mousse and a Cranberry Juice.

Here is a deal scenario for you all. Buy 6 bottles of mousse, 1 bottle of nexxus product for 10 dollars and a extra product. Use the 5 off of 25. Then hand the nexxus q's. My total for a leave in conditioner of nexxus, 6 bottles of mousse and a water was 3.58 oop.

I just tried to do this deal and it is considered the trial size so the coupon does not apply. Bummer!

Lolo said...

The coupon booklets are hit and miss with different Walgreens. I have only ever been able to find the coloring book at one of my 6 Walgreens. (Located in the toy section) I just found the new Healthy Savings November booklet at one last night ( a 24 hr store) but when I asked about it at another today they have no idea about it. All of my coupon booklets that particularly relate to health products are always by the pharmacy. Please be aware that there is another healthy savings booklet that coma out a while back and is good until the end of December. That is NOT the booklet with the kleenex coupon in it. What you are looking for is long like the regular November booklet but it has a different picture and it says healthy savings on it. I have gotten 9 boxes of free Kleenex. I love it!

Also to Anon 9:45
No you can not use a register reward to pay for taxes. You need to have enough cost before taxes to do a transaction and use a register reward. There are 2 reasons that you might need a filler. 1st is that you have too many coupons and not enough products. And by this I mean Manufacturers coupons. Register rewards are manufacturers coupons so if you have a coupon for everything in your cart and still want to use another 1, 2, 3, or how many ever register rewards to bring the cost of those items down, you need to add on a filler so there is an item to pair up with each additional coupon (register reward). The 2nd reason being that the amount of your coupons exceeds the value of what you are purchasing, For example you are buying an item for $1.99 and you want to use a $2 RR. You can't without a filler because your pre tax total is a penny short! Hope that helps those of you who are confused and/or just learning the ropes.

I just got back an hour ago from Wags. No Healthy Savings book at my store, but I still got a great deal on the Kleenex, Keebler cookies and FREE Cranberry juice. Thanks Collin!

The tax can be a pain - last week I wanted to use a $10.00 RR to make my OOP as low as possible but I had a BIG order and we have 6% tax so it wouldn't take my $10.00 I just kept adding an M&M (which my awesome cashier kept putting a coupon code in for!). I would have her add an M&M then try the RR, beep, add an M&M, RR, beep add an M&M. Eventually it worked and I paid oop for the tax.

Anonymous said...

Bought for and w/Q deducted 10.00! No hassle! Free is FUN!

Anonymous said...

ananon 9:45,(this is the previous poster from 8:45) the problem is RR will not take off taxes so you either need a filler for...1. to make the price before tax over the amnount of RR you have 2. to make the item coupon ratio the same or 3. for the scenario I said before about the tissues, if you have overage you must have extra items for it to go to.

Leesa the November Healthy Savings book is by the pharmacy I had to go to three different Walgreens to find it. I went to my normal one, not there, the one near my place of worship not there either finally I found it at one on the way to my brother's house, if you check the notes of the other post she mentions it in Bargain Brianna had a link to a pic of it so you know what you are looking for. It is similar to the November Coupon book only green and has a few different ones and all expire this month.

I have been to WAGS twice this week and still going back so I will add this one to the list!

I just did this deal. At the stores here some of the full size products are on clearance. I got a shampoo for $8 and 4 of the mousse and it took of $14 for all 5 items...so about $4 OOP. This prevents any problems or discussion about whether the mousse are travel size or just smaller size. * I got the free theraflu with this so a $3 RR made everything only $1.50!

Anonymous said...

What a great deal! I met the challenge and walked away with 16 free mousses, with no beeping or other issues. Just had to pay the high 10% sales tax, but still such a sweet deal. Thanks Hip for the super tip!

Anonymous said...

Thanks Collin! I picked up 4 this morning, no beeps at all! Only issue was that my cashier thought maybe something had rung up incorrectly!

Gotta love free mousse!!!

Anonymous said...

Only three left, so I got 3 and coupon automatically deduct $7.50.

Anonymous said...

Wait, am I understanding this correctly: You can buy MORE than the 2 products & use the 1 Q? Could I buy multiple Nexxus products (shampoo, conditioner, mousse, etc)? & it will deduct $4 for each item (or adjust down if it's less than $4?). Oh yeah...I'm on my way to Walgreens today!

Anonymous said...

I went to my walgreens (mid-michigan), the cashier INSISTED this was a trial size and wouldnt do it. I was on my work break, so time crunch. So no luck for me on this one. However I LOVE this site! One of the best I've seen!!

Anonymous said...

It worked for me with no problems! I purchased 4 of the mousse, the cashier ran the $4 coupon thru, and $10 was deducted. Thank you SO much for the heads up on this great deal!! While I was at Wags, I picked up the 33oz honey deal ($3.99) Makes my trip that much more SWEETER!! :)

Anonymous said...

Only 2 left I got them 2 and the coupon worked fine. Took $5 off.

The sale is on the trial size (2 oz), 2/$5.00. The coupon specifically states "not on trial size". I gave it a whirl and the register scanned and accepted the coupon with no problem. Both trial sizes, FREE! :)

Anonymous said...

I just came back from Walgreens and got the Mousse and Razors for free, no issues at all! The cashier was amazed and wants to get the freebies for herself too!

Sarah said...

I just bought two mousse and the coupon only deducted $2.50. So I guess it works at some stores and not others. I'm in boone, nc.

Brittany D. said...

YAY!!! I just got my 2 FREE cans of mousse!!! I also got 2 bags of various items from Walgreens all for $9 and I got my first register reward for $2. I am so excited!

k said...

I know there can be an issue about trial size, but at another store I stopped at during lunch, their sign in front of the small can said "sized right for flight". And since the can does not say trial size I really think it is just a smaller size they came out with - because remember you are limited on carry on liquid sizes when flying.

Unknown said...

Mine did not have the mousse, but they did have Shampoo fior $5.49 so I got that for 1.49 plus tax, not tooo bad.

heres my trip:
3 tylenol cold
2 bottles of rolaids
1 box sudafed
2 pairs of socks
2 bottles of spices
6 bottles of gatorades
1 bag of sugar
3 boxes of kleenex
2 bottles of nexxus mousse
1 3pack of papertowels

my total was 15 bucks after coupons and RR and I got back 15.00 I broke even and I love it!!! The wags lady said im a good shopper!! yay for me

Brandi said...

nexxus moose not available at my wal-greens. :(

J.J. said...

The shelf was cleared of the mousse except for 1. So I got that plus 3 of the shampoos and paid $5.64 OOP. Not bad for 4 Nexxus products, but could have been better if there was more mousse!!

Anonymous said...

just did my nexxus deal with no problems....awesome..thanks so much!!!

WiJoyMom said...

I just tried to do this deal (Thur. evening, in Kenosha, WI) and it beeped, he tried again...'beep', read the coupon & the product.

It wasn't working & I said I didn't know if that was considered trail size or not since it (product) doesn't say on it. I wasn't up for a fight so, I said I didn't want them.

Anonymous said...

I could not find this product. It could be all gone, but I didn't even see a spot marked for it. I looked with all the hair care. The nexxus stuff was in one area. But I also looked around. Very disappointing.

Anonymous said...

I went this morning to get the free Mousse and it was not on sale for 2/4. The add for the $4.00 was for a bigger bottle of Nexxus.

Anonymous said...

The mousse was not on sale for 2/$4, at my walgreens so I was pretty dissapointed this morning. However, I did get a good deal on the Ester C vitamins. It is buy 1 get 1 free deal. I took 2 $5.00 off coupons from the Sunday coupons from 11/1 and got 2 for .99 cents.

Unknown said...

I wasn't allowed to do this either. The cashier said it was a trial size and the coupon specifically excludes trial size. I told her I did not get it from the travel section. She tried to scan it anyway and it beeped at me. She also said the limit was one per customer (per the coupon book), so I couldn't have done two anyway.

What a pain in the butt for 2 little mousse's. I told her just to void it off.

Anonymous said...

Tried it last night in WA & it only rang up $2.50 off. I don't use mousse anyway, so I told them nevermind (I was going to donate it). I'll go back today & get the shampoo that was $5.49 though & also a conditioner that was on sale for $9.99 & get $8 off both. Won't be too bad!
Oh, but I did get a free cranberry juice. It actually said they owed me one penny, so I had to throw in a filler. I'll get another bottle or two today for the food bank!

Anonymous said...

Did the Kleenex last night at my favorite store with my favorite cashier. I have bought 4 of the mousse and was going to do 2 more with the Kleenex but they were out. I mentioned it to my cashier and she said they ordered 25 more that would be in Saturday - or next Thursday. So I'll be able to get a couple more. They are great for traveling.

SaraJC said...

I was able to get the last 5 mousse and 1 of the nexxus shampoo clearenced for $7.99. The coupon automatically reduced 16.50! =]

trash2cash4u said...

I skimmed comments so sorry if I'm repeating someone else:

The mousse is a SMALL one but not trial size. It should be on the reg. shelf. My store had them 2 for $5 or 2.99 each not 2/$4 as someone else had stated.

It doesn't really matter, though because the $4 coupon will take off up to $4 per bottle.

I bought 2 and nothing else and the coupon auto-adjusted to $5.

I was going to buy 6 more today, 3 things of the honey that were 2.99 after coupon and 3 of the 8/$1 cups hoping to absorb the overage from the coupons and get everything for nearly free. However, the coupon auto adjusted again and apparently the $4 can only be used toward the mousse.

HTH

i ended up buying one small bottle of mousse today for about $3.50. it was free so cool!

got mine today thanks . YEAH I love my wags.

Anonymous said...

N. CA unfortunately no Kleenex coupons, no Nexxus Mouse sale, sorry we have a shortage of canned pumpkin...As for fillers - the 8 for $1 Christmas items work well. I got 16 bags using one in ad Q, so I could do the NyQuil deal and a few others - and was able to use up a bunch of those $1 RR's before they expired. Came out with three bags of stuff for less than $4.

Woohoo! The cashier scanned the coupon twice, so I got a total of $8 off my 2/$5.

Saundra said...

Can someone tell me why the coupon is beeping if this mousse is not a trial size? My Walgreens would not let me use this because she said it was a trial size. I love this mousse and was hoping to get a great deal. :(

Anonymous said...

I did the mousse deal when she first posted it and it worked just fine...gave me 5.00 off so they were free. I checked last week on Sat. night and at 2 walgreens they were all out. So today, I went back and they had some in, I bought two and gave the coupon, this time it beeped? Maybe they caught on to the fact that everyone was walking out w/ free mousse...my cashier was a young boy and he just seemed puzzled but didn't try to fix it, so I just told him to void those off.

Anonymous said...

i am confused with this deal, how do you get them for free, you cant buy trial size and why do i want to buy 2 when the coupons does not require you to.

please help me with this.

Anonymous said...

this doesnt work anymore.. it beeped when i tried to buy them.. oh well I guess my gift basket has enough FREE mousse
