Walgreens: New Coupon Booklet, Coupon Stacking Issues and FREE Kleenex Deal!

First, I just got an email from reader, Sippi, about a new Walgreens coupon booklet that she found by the pharmacy counter (pictured above)! This booklet has $11 worth of high value Digestive Healthy manufacturer coupons inside (NOT Walgreens coupons): Rolaids, Mylanta and more! There is even a $4/2 Rolaids coupon available! This coupon will easily make for some FREE Rolaids at various stores + some possible overage!

*****************************************
Now on to Coupon Stacking:
I was reading through all the Walgreens deal posts and noticed a lot of you are having issues with being able to stack two Walgreens coupons on one item. I've always been told as long as the Walgreens coupons have different codes, you can use both. I've had no issues stacking an in ad coupon, with a Walgreens coupon from the November coupon booklet and a manufacturer coupon. I've also discussed this with the manager at my local Walgreens and he has said that as long as the Walgreens coupons each have different codes you can stack them.

To make you feel even more confident about stacking Walgreens coupons, I received this email from reader, Sun:

"I tried stacking the Walgreen's in-ad coupon with the Walgreen's November booklet coupon and a manufacturer coupon on the Glade Spray deal, and the register kept beeping. The manager came over and told me it was because I was trying to use two Walgreen's coupon, and would only let me use one.

Now, I know you wouldn't post such a deal, if I couldn't do it. So, I called up Walgreens corporate, and asked for their official coupon policy, and asked specifically if they allowed the deal above. The CSR was very nice, and said "we don't have a policy, but we do have a guide. She said I should have been able to do this. They allow you to stack multiple different Walgreens coupons for the same product. This is not to be confused with stacking the same Walgreens coupon for the same product, which you can't do. This idea is similar to the monthly "cross-over" coupons we used to do when they had the Easy Saver Program.

In any event, she took my RFN number off the receipt and said she'd get back to me. I just got a call from my local Walgreen's. The manager on duty was very nice, and said she had a $2.00 gift card waiting for me by the front register. (I bought 4, and was denied the "$1 off of 2" coupon). Yaaay!. I know most of your readers are too busy to call corporate, but just wanted to let you know that you're right about the deal, and we should have been able to do it."

************************************
Alright, now for the new Deal:
Walgreens Kleenex Facial Tissue is priced at $1.09 per box with the in ad coupon! Plus, there's a $1/1 coupon in the November Healthy Savings Booklet to sweeten this deal further (you can find this booklet at the pharmacy). ...AND on top of those coupons, you can use the Kleenex manufacturer coupon available!

Deal Scenario:
Buy 3 boxes of Kleenex Facial Tissue (85 ct) $1.09 each with the in-ad coupon
Use $0.50/3 coupon from the 10/4 or 11/1SS or from here
Plus, use the $1/1 coupon from the November Healthy Savings Booklet
(Will deduct $3 for purchasing 3)
Final cost FREE + $0.23 in overage to go towards other items!
**Make sure to hand over the manufacturer coupon first, then the Healthy Savings coupon and finally the in ad coupon. If you do it this way everything will go through without any beeps!

(Thanks, Tiffany & TheCouponHigh!)

I'd like to try this but I'm afraid it'll beep and they'll tell me I can't like they did with the juice LOL

Here is the biggie for using a manufacturers Q & a Wags Q at the same time. Make sure they scan the manufacturers Q FIRST..then it'll go thru with no probs. I hold on to the Wags Q until they do the others first.. Also, when I forgot, I'd ask them to remove the Wags Q & then scan the MfQ & then rescan the Wags Q & it would work just fine. Most casheers are happy to try it & it has always worked for me.
HTH.

I was able to do this deal a few times on Sunday...worked like a charm. Our WAGS do not have this coupon book out yet (Mom with two kids baking on the front), so I was able to print out the coupon and they keyed in the number (this is YMMV).

Can you post a pic (or describe what's on it) of the November Healthy Savings booklet? I have a healthy savings booklet that expires 12/31/09 but it doesn't have a kleenex coupon. Thanks!

Anonymous said...

I did this deal for 30 boxes and no beeps. I paid under $4 which is almost all tax. I didn't have anything to cover my overage which was my fault. Also, just an FYI, this deal ONLY works on the 85ct boxes.

Unknown said...

the ad says max of 3 so can you get more than 3 boxes of tissues?

Tiffany said...

This is a green covered booklet, which looks a lot like the Nov coupon book, but it says Walgreens Healthy Savings. Save over $160 inside. There is a pic of a mom and 2 kids on the cover. This is not the white Healthy Savings book which is good till Dec...these coupons are only good for Nov. If you can't find the book as your checker to put in code 5236. It is YMMV but if they will put in the code, that is all you need.

Kristin said...

Kelly - it really depends on your store and your cashier. The coupon will work when you buy more but your cashier might try to limit you. I've never had a problem buying more than the stated limit (as long as I don't go overboard).

And just for the record, I was ANON 11:10 and NO I DID NOT CLEAR THE SHELVES. I know that is a hot topic around here so just wanted to make sure you all know, there were at least another 30 boxes on the shelves. Just to clarify.

Whitney said...

Thanks, Tiffany!

So I'm not the only one having trouble at Walgreens! A couple of weeks ago, when I was purchasing some toothpaste (don't remember the deal), the register beeped at my manufacturer coupon. The checker told me, "It was too good of a deal. That's why it beeped." She was serious, not joking at all!!! Since then I have started going to another Walgreens just up the street from there and have had no trouble at all.

Anon 11:10 dont feel bad i went to target and got 18 boxes, their were some one the shelf left. But honestly if we dont clear them out soemone is going to a lady was behind me with a good stack of coupons too so it made me not feel like i was wrong oh and my target was so nice he had to manually put in all of the coupons i was very thankful.

I know my local Wags will still not let me stack 2 different Wags coupons. What is the number to corporate? Should I just have them talk to corporate when I'm in the store? How should I go about it in a nice way? would love input so I can start doing these deals at my Wags.

Whitney...there is a picture on my blog under the Walgreens section.

I was told at my wags that the coupons in the November coupon book are Manufacturers coupons. So I can't use them with another manufacturers coupon. On the bottom of the coupons they say they are manufacturers. Can anyone help?

Anonymous said...

"Bargain blessings" Where do you go to print off the November Healthy Savings booklet?

*~*~*Bargain Blessings*~*~* said...

Anon 11:44...that link is also on our site. Let me know if you have trouble finding it (it is in my post from Sunday)!

hopevierze said...

ok- I called corporate. They told me that all stores should be able to use up to 3 different walgreens coupons on one item BUT it is up to the discretion of the store manager. In other words it varies from store to store. BUMMER! Not sure if there is still something I can do to change my local stores mind? what do you think?

*~*~*Bargain Blessings*~*~* said...

Anon 11:42...these are IVC coupons, so there should be no problem using them with MQ, like the quoted e-mail from Collin's earlier post on this subject. Your best bet would be to go back to the store when another manager that is working, or try another store. HTH!

*~*~*Bargain Blessings*~*~* said...

hopevierze...the only other option you would have is to call the WAGS district office to speak with your district manager. If they agree with corporate (which they do about 80% of the time-in my experience)they should be able to help convey this to the store managers.

I work for walgreens and stocked many shelves. We do not normally even put out 30 or any given item because of the fact there isn't enough room to really put that much out.

i can never get our wags to let me use more then the 1 man and 1 wags coupons :( you all are soo darned lucky :D!

Anonymous said...

I did this deal for 27 boxes of Kleenex (using a Palmer $.39 candy to cover the overage). And I did it at 6 stores, so no, I didn't clear the shelves either.

Instead, I actually told quite a few people about the deal!

Anonymous said...

These are small upright boxes. At my wags where I shop they are on the top shelf of the kleenex and there is plenty of space to put out possibly even 50. As well, they had a separate display in the front being that they are on sale in the ad.

I forgot to use my $5 rr from a product and it expired yesterday..what should i do now??
Will walgreens accept expired rr's like CVS??...My CVS do accept expired EB till one month.

As I was purchasing, I was explaining the deal to the store manager and the pharmacist and they both went and grabbed several boxes for themselves. The manager even mentioned that employees get 15% off so it would be even cheaper, however he didn't have the 50c coupon. If I had any, I would have shared.

It's always nice to share a great deal with others.

Thanks colin. But I have a problem. When you buy something and you have a coupon for more than the sale price like in this deal, do the cahsiers have to take the full ammount off? For example, if I buy cereal for 2.50 and I have a coupon for 3.00 off that cereal, should they take the full 3 off my bill? Because there have been times that they haven't done that...and I'm too chicken to say anything! What do you say?

Anonymous said...

I successfully used two Wags coupons plus the $3 mfg cpn on the Comtrex and got $2 overage today. I was shocked!

Thirty boxes of tissues?! What do you do with thirty boxes of tissues? But at least the Wags Kleenex deal actually requires some effort--not to mention potentially being shot down by cashiers/managers AND looking like some kind of crazy hoarder with perpetual postnasal drip. Because it requires effort, not everyone's going to do it, so chances are good the shelves won't perpetually be wiped clean. Eighteen Target wipes, however, is low-hanging fruit. But I'm glad you beat the other lady with the stack of coupons, Anon 11:24! But if she gets between you and those wipes on your next freebie run, just run her over with your cart. Great values to instill in your children (and I do hope you have many, many children if you are getting eighteen of these).

Ummm. . . . Many stores--like most Walgreens, for instance--carry less than 30 boxes of Kleenex on the shelf.

Whatever. I'm sure such folks max out charity donations each year. Or maybe they'll end up in gift baskets with Glade tins and Target wipes. ; )

Anonymous said...

What is the November Healthy Savings booklet?

Anonymous said...

You girls are cracking me up. I love the comment about the gift basket with Glade Tins, Kleenex & Target wipes. You know someone will do it, it just better not be a gift for me.

30 tissues is a bit crazy- where do you store that many? Maybe they are donating them to a school.

Yup I have my giftbasket for my mom and guess what everything i got IS FREE.. wonder if she will disown me?? hmmm

If you happen to have sick children with the flu, swine flu, then bad colds then sinus infections you can go through a lot of tissues very quickly. I have sent ten boxes to my son at college and he neeeds more already.Sure beats spreading germs. If you need them then you have them very affordably, if not be thankful.

My Healthy Savings book doesn't have a Kleenex coupon! Is it the one with an African American family of 6 on the cover with a pretty fall tree in the background??? Mine has all sorts of drug coupons, but no tissue.

Unknown said...

Just some info: does everyone know that there is a coupon to item ratio with WAGS? If not, then here's some insight..... WAGS will take your coupons in a certain order they will work, as well as you must have the same amount of coupons to items or less. i.e. if you have 10 items and 13 coupons you need 3 cheap fillers to use them all. Sometimes that could be the reason the coupons are beeping at you. HTH.

Unknown said...

OOps let me clarify..... Coupon to item ratio only applies to Manufacturer coupons and RR, not WAGS store coupons.

Kris said...

I am absolutely unable to use a MQ and a coupon from the Healthy Savings or monthly coupon books at Wags. Every time I try it it beeps. I've called Corporate multiple times, and talked to 3 store managers. They all say the coupons from the Wags coupon books are actually MQ and can't be stacked. SOOOOOO frustrating, especially when corporate admits they do NOT have a published coupon policy and stores can make their own rules. Anyway, I don't do a ton of Walgreens shopping anymore because of the headaches.

Unknown said...

Ladies, 30 boxes of tissue is NOTHING when you DO HAVE chronic postnasal drip due to allergies let me tell you! Even while I'm on Zyrtec or Claritin or whatever, I can plow through kleenex, TP or any product remotely derived from a tree.

Wet wipes (and kleenex) sure do come in handy when the TP is gone.
There is serious price gouging on TP prices here! As for being a "low hanging fruit", I'm guilty as charged! As for running over a fellow shopper with a cart, I'm a low hanging fruit but not THAT low.

*~*~*Bargain Blessings*~*~* said...

In addition to what Nicole said, if your total goes negative it will also cause coupons to beep.

I hope my Wags has some Kleenex left for me on Saturday! I have a daycare and we go through tissues quite fast. I could use 30 boxes, but I won't be getting that many. Well, I don't think so, anyway. ;)

Unknown said...

Isn't .09 cents a box good enough for all of us? Why try to get the overage. .09 cents is not worth the hassle.

MomDG said...

I am laughing my butt off! I took all the Trident gum, have 50 packages of TP in my attic, and I got the other 30 boxes of tissues (sorry I use at least 1 box a week due to allergies)! BTW last week I think I took out a kid in the cereal isle at Target when I got my 8 boxes of Chex cereal!!!!! Oh yeah I have about 50 Glade candles and don't plan on sharing with anyone THEY ARE ALL MINE!!!! :p

Anonymous said...

Well, just to clarify for those of you who need to know why I purchased 30 boxes of tissue. First of all, 27 of them are in a case and the box is rather small for storage, let me tell you. Secondly I have 3 children, 2 of whom have allergies and go to school. I sent several boxes with each of them to school as well as donate many items to the local Senior Center. I didn't realize it was such a big deal to buy "too" many tissues. They don't expire and I can store them until we need them. At 85 tissues a box, we go through them quicker than one may think. And once again, the manager got me a case from the back. I DID NOT clear the shelf and I shared the deal with 2 others while I was shopping. I don't know why I feel like I have to justify myself but I just wanted to clear the air.

Thank you to those of you who defended me.

I think it's funny that I was worried about people thinking I "cleared the shelves" and even though I didn't do that, I am still getting wrath for buying "too many" tissues. LOL

Happy Day everyone!

MomDG said...

Luv ya anon 10:31. I don't care what anyone thinks and you don't have to either. You don't have to "justify" yourself to anyone. The same person worrying about you clearing the shelves of Kleenex probably hoarded all 40 bags of the Hershey Kisses when they were 50 cents after Halloween. :)

I think they are gone because people want 30 boxes to put under their xmas tree ;)

I think there is a lot of jealousy over 30 boxes of tissues. Personally, I'm amazed and wish I had 30 boxes of Kleenex, but my husband would probably stage a coupon intervention (he hates too much "stuff" in the house!). Good for you! I may try to get three, but they really don't like me at my WAGS. KE

I love getting stuff for free.. these companies make so much money and prices where I am along with the taxes are just insane.. Id love 30 boxes too good for you for getting a great score! I did the almay deal and got 3 foundations/3mascaras/2 pks of gum/3 lotions of lubriderm,2 packs of papertowels (3pk), arm and hammer detergent 2 out of pocket i spent 12 bucks and I love it!

Hello I am new to the coupon game I started this past August and have been hooked every since. I've gotten so good that the person who introduced me to this asks me questions now how funny is that lol. I love this site!!! Thanks for all the great deals. My question is about the Nov coupon book I have been to two walgreens and they don't have them. I do have the one with the family on the cover but I think it's from Oct and there are no kleenex coupons in there.. What does this nov one look like anyone know.... or is the coupon book different in your region. I would really love to score this free kleenex deal

My wags has 3 books.. Healthy Savings/Diabetes, and November savings it might be regional thats why you dont see it.. still without it its still a great buy if you use in store coupon and the .50 off of 3..20 cents a box

No need to defend yourself for getting a great deal and taking as many boxes of Kleenex as you wanted. I haven't done the WAGs tissue deal, but two of my local grocery stores have had great deals on Kleenex and Scotties tissue recently. I have 28 boxes and paid a total of $3.50 for all of them. I'm not passing up a great deal when I can use this as backup TP when I can't find a great deal on TP or I run out. I am starting to be all about the backup and getting a small stockpile of things I use on a regular basis when I can purchase them for free or very inexpensively.

Unknown said...

My Wags told me that they now have been "guided" to ask for all Wag coupons FIRST, then scan all the other coupons. The last two times I went, they did exactly that, said it was to keep people from getting overages. I totally understand why, because you're already getting something for FREE.
AND I have year-round allergies, I have kids, we use lots of kleenex, but I am NOT about to buy 30 boxes! Give me something that cost more than a $1, and I'll buy 30, but not for something this cheap already.

Anonymous said...

ANON 11:55 11/11, how do you calculate 3 boxes at $1.09 each, with a 50 cent coupon, coming out to 20 cents a box? I get $2.77 @ $0.92/box. Please advise.

Denise said...

I'm not sure if it's worth shopping at Walgreen's. It's a hassle everytime I go. Usually they don't even have the products in stock. For the Kleenex, I also didn't notice that the Healthy Savings coupon is only for the 85 count. I brought up the 200 count package that you can get for $1.09, so I had to go back and get the 85 count. The cashier wasn't happy about having to void the transaction. I gave her the mfg. coupon first, then the Walgreen's coupon (making them $1.09 each). When I gave her the Healthy Savings coupon, she said I could only use that or the WAGS coupon, not both. She said she had already checked with her manager. I asked her to try scanning it to see if it would work. She said, "I know it will work, but I'm not supposed to do it." She did it though, and it worked, of course. Then I gave her coupons on the Jell-O. She didn't want to do both coupons for me, but she did. Then she told me that their bookkeeper said they have to scan the WAGS coupon first and that's how she would have to do it next time I came. Anyway, I got three 85 count boxes of Kleenex and two boxes of Jell-O for 53 cents (27 cents plus 26 cents tax).

If any of you got a $2.50 off renu contact solution from your travel size bottles(it is the taller thinner box) combine that with the instore walgreens coupon for $3.50 off the 120z from the november green booklet not the healthy savings book and this should make the 12oz bottle priced around 5.99 free or you should pay close to nothing for the bottle. Make sure you check the price of the renu first because as we all know prices are different. I hope this deal works out for you!!!!

Where in the country are these booklets being distributed? I was able to do this deal today in the Milwaukee area thanks to several people posting the coupon code and a very accomodating manager. I went to three different stores, and none of the managers I spoke with had seen this or had any idea what I was talking about. One of them told me it might only be available in certain markets.

For those of you who cannot find the November Healthy Savings booklet, Scroll up to Bargain Blessings 11:36 and she has a scanned in picture of the Kleenex coupon. Take it to your Wags and ask the cashier if they can scan it. My printed one scanned tonight and on another transaction she entered in the code. She was new and young and she did call her manager over. He very happily told her that she was welcome to enter it in and that their machines are set up to beep at them if they cannot do it. Hopefully those of you who can't find it will find a nice manager like this. Make sure you go in knowing that they might not let you do it so that you are not disappointed. Good Luck!

Hello all I just wanted to let you all know it's a no go on the renu deal that I posted. The 12oz is priced way over $5.99 it was a smaller bottle that I saw, but you all can still see if the register will let u scan the smaller size sometimes it will, it doesn't hurt to try! Also for those of you who are still trying to get your hands on the kleenex coupon go to barging blessings as one blogger said and print off the image of the book and have the cashier enter the code. I asked the manager if he would allow this and he had no problem with it. Also tell me why the walgreen's I went to today had about 6 managers/district managers in the store I was like what the heck is going on in here today lol but anywhoo that made me a lil nervous because I thought they would give me trouble about all my coupons. So I sought out the nicest one and asked him and was like sure it shouldn't be a problem. He did however ask me where I got the coupon from I told him online. So I was able to get my Kleenex woohoo!!!! So this is to encourage you all to atleast try and see. And to make the deal even better I went back in and did it again the cashier actually took the coupon and it scanned I didn't think it would since it wasn't actually from the coupon book. She actually messed up my total because it did't take $3.00 off my total came to $2.23 which was way wrong so she had to call a manager (dont you hate that)amazingly he was way cool and he fixed the problem and scanned al my coupons and manually enter the ones that were acting crazy. So I got 3 more boxes and some other stuff for .71 I had a great experience today at walgreens Woohoo!!! So go for it guys!!!!!
