Hello hip!
Thanks for the post.......when will you start listing Cyber Monday deals? I am looking for a GPS....do you think their will be a good deal on Cyber Monday? THANKS!

I believe the BOGO Q was also in Cosmo Dec and Marie Claire Dec if I remember right.

Another great deal is on the Revlon beauty tools - on sales for $4.99 w/ Wags $3 off Dec Q plus the $1 off any Revlon tool Q (regional, I think from last weekend...)

Now i tried this once and they said it wouldn't work because the tweezers and nail file i grabbed were not "beauty tools." After looking back at the ad, it called them beauty tools so I will do it again with a little more info in my pocket.

Bonnie said...

Just wondering why you didn't suggest using the $1/1 Body wash Q from the 11/1 p&g as well. Can you use all 3 for a better deal?

cyber monday..anyone know where I can get a cheap, but reliable MP3 player???????????/ Help!

I did body wash, lotion, free in shower lotion. Lotion was $7.99, used a $3 off from Marie Claire, also used the free lotion with body wash, which took off $7.99, so got all three for free! The $3 off coupon beeped (maybe because the other q was lotion for free?) but she pushed it through. Don't know if this was a valid transaction, I'm still new to this.

The BOGO that was in the magazines was BOGO lotion, up to $6.

Darn! Just got back from my trip to 3 Walgreens stores (looking for the Nivea Lip Balm). Oh well, I will plan another run for tomorrow. Thanks Hip!

Anonymous said...

Darn, this isn't listed as one of the sales in the Detroit area paper. Our flyer is only 20 pgs, the rest of the universe, it seems, has a 40 page flyer. Oh well, maybe next week will have good deals.

Just got ack from walgreens and did this deal. The In Shower Loton is a gift ($4.99 Free) so it wont take the $1.00 off coupon. Also at my walgreens it beeped so many times that they only gave me $4.99 off the $7.99 Lotion. Total Bill for all 3 was $4.99 still a great deal. This in in the Portland OR area

Nivea and olay products are going to be hard to find if people are buying so many! Please leave some for others!

Just got back from Walgreens, the manager there would not take my coupon for the free body lotion. He said since I was getting the body wash for free that the coupon was not allowed. I reminded him that when there is a BOGO free sale that it is ok to use two coupons so why wouldn't the Olay coupon be valid and he said that is not allowed either and that is basically committing coupon fraud!! I was a little angry at that statement because I am in no way trying to commit coupon fraud!!!! He made me question whether what I was doing was ethically right. I believe that I am right but now I am confused. According to the manufacturer, I purchased both of those items even if one was free right??????

Anonymous said...

I just got back from my Walgreens. The bogo Q beeped as well for me, but after calling a manager over, they were super sweet about it and pushed it through anyway. I still don't know why the Q beeps though.

Thanks Collin!

The BOGO for $7.99 lotion also beeped for me. Had the Ast Mgr over and he couldn't figure it out either, but he pushed it through. The $1 MQ for shower lotion went through fine even though it is the free item with the body lotion. Go figure! $.92 ea for me with tax. A Great deal! Thanks!

Anonymous said...

Did the deal, no problems, the cashier was just confused as to whether it was body lotion or body wash that he was to deduct and put 4.99, but I caught him and he double checked and then entered 7.99. He also looked like he really wanted to go home, so that may have helped :-D $1 off coupon went through just fine :) thank you!!

I just bought the Olay body lotion and body wash, everything worked expect for one thing. The free body lotion would not take until I changed the body wash ribbons for an Olay Body quench which was 4.99. I paid $4.00 for all. $1.33 for each. Still a great deal!

Courtney said...

I was aloud to use a $1 coupon on the body wash & the shower lotion. Making it .99 for all 3.

MP3 player- bought one last night for $7.99 at amazon.com(free shipping too!!. Found the deal on fistfulofcoupons.com. Go there because she has the link to the specific item. Regular price was around $50. Good luck!!

Anonymous said...

I got the body lotion (quench), in shower lotion (took off 4.99), and ribbons body wash, didn't have $1/1 q, asst. mgr. only took off 4.99, instead of 7.99 for lotion. she claimed this was all she could do. I think it was still a good deal, she even remarked "what great gift basket items"...thanks for posting all the great deals!!! my walgreens is in NC.

Anonymous said...

ALMA! I'm sorry, it's not fistfullofcoupons, it's at www.mavenofsavin.com. Just checked and there's still some left! Good luck again.

Cashier pushed this transaction through twice for me. It beeped both times, but I was able to get all 6 for 3.96 + tax. Sweet.

Anonymous said...

I hate my walgreens!! It beeped and the cashier was way rude saying that I was trying to get the most expensive item for free and that is wrong. I was upset at her comments and tried to remain calm. The manager came over and told be that there was a line and that he could only put in 2.99 instead of 7.99. I am really upset. . . at how I was treated!

Anonymous said...

where do you see the buy 1 get 1 free? My Walgreens doesn't have any signs posted

Anonymous said...

There are 3 Walgreens within a 10 mile radius of where I live, 2 of them I will never step inside again. Last week I was in my car pulling out of the car park when one of the sales women came running out of the store and jumped in front of my car and told me she was calling the police if I did not go back into the store as I had used two manufacturers
coupons along with their coupons out of the November green book which were also manufacturers
coupons and I was committing fraud. This was all over $1, it took 45 minutes for them to refund the sale.

Anonymous said...

For the commenter at 6:42 PM, Seriously? Could you imagine if they had really called the police? I wonder who would be in worse trouble. You, for following coupon rules or them for wasting the police's time over a dollar? Why is it people are getting accused of fraud when they are simply savvy enough to use the right Q's at the right time?

Holly in AZ, I had the same exact thing happen to me when trying to use two manufacture coupons on a BOGO. I too was offended when the manager accused me of coupon fraud. Well, two days later the manager called me back to say that she had called corporate and they said that you could use two manufature coupons on a BOGO. She actually appologized!!!

Anonymous said...

I love my WAGS!!!! All the cashiers love to see me now!! I was there twice today. Once for my papers and nivea/ecotrin/zooth and then back again for my Olay deal. My 3rd free q beeped but they just pushed it through. They know I'll be back for more :) The cashiers were talking about me for doing 12 individual transactions on Thanksgiving Day LOL~ But I was rollin the RR for some J&J Body (I LOVE that stuff)Thanks Collin!

Chicago Spartan said...

Anon 6:27, there was a sign by the in shower lotion at my Wags that said free with purchase of 20.6 oz lotion. It was also in the ad. The BOGO free lotion I was referring to was a coupon that was in some of the magazines like Cosmo, etc.

Dear Anonymous Sun Nov 29, 06:42:00 PM 2009,

I am shocked at how you were treated. You did not do anything wrong. I do hope you got their names and called corporate and reported everyone involved at the store. I also suggest following up with a written certified letter. You are owed a huge apology!

Anonymous said...

i went to 3 stores, walgreens, and neither one of them would honour the coupons, down walgreens

Anonymous said...

Walgreen's staff all need to go to customer relations classes or learn some manners ,they treat customers using coupons like s***.They should go to Khols and see how they treat customers(with respect).

Anonymous said...

Well like I said 2 of the Walgreens I will never go in again, the one with the sales women that came outside when I was driving away and the other one because one of the shift managers is as rude as can be about coupons, scrutinizing them and not accepting printed coupons off the internet (not just me but the guy behind me in line)saying that people are abusing and scamming retailers. Well the 3rd Walgreens is like stepping into another world, they are great, very obliging and want to help you in every way, it really is not the company as a whole but individual stores/staff that are the problem. I personally am not out to scam or rip any retailers off I just want to get a good, fair deal, they don't like the fact that people are price conscious and savvy about things these days and are using coupons to their advantage.

I found $3 coupon for Olay hand & body lotion at Womens health mag. Des. edition

Anonymous said...

I would like to do this deal, but won't be able to get to Walgreens until tomorrow. I'm fairly new to couponing so I am wondering if I can still use $1 off coupon that expires 11/30 on its expiration date. Are coupons still accepted on their expiration dates?

Anonymous said...

I have no idea how I finally made out on this Olay deal. I did exactly as you outlined and nobody behind the register could make it work out. I ended up with a larger size lotion and had the manager trying every which way to get it to work. Everything was just beeping away.
I was actually reading your post to them from my Iphone. At last we just found some amount that seemed reasonable and we all agreed to move past it. What an adventure!

Michelle & Luke said...

Well, I did yet another variation--

Buy TWO of the big quench lotions, at $7.99 each.
Buy TWO of the in-shower body lotions.

Use the buy one get one coupon to get your 2nd big lotion marked down by $6 (it says it will only be valued up to $6). Use the $3/1 q (though now I'm not exactly sure I should have been able to use that one). Then get the two in-shower body lotions free due to the wags sale. ended up being like $7 for 4 things. Not too great actually!

So I think the trick is that the bogo coupon only works on the larger lotions with the pumps-buy 2 and get one of the free w/the coupon.

Trudy said...

Yeah I couldn't make it work, either. They are very accomodating at my Walgreens- but the coupon for the free lotion just would NOT go through. Even though it says "Any body wash / any lotion" (no size, type or $$ specification). We tried all kinds of combos-- the only way it would work was to buy a LARGE Olay Quench bodywash, then get the other 2 for free. So I ended up getting the 3 for like $7.79- decent deal, but I wouldn't have bought them if I'd known that's how it would end up. Nonetheless, I went ahead and purchased after putting the poor cashier through all of that drama. I have no idea why the mfr q would not work since there was absolutely NO specification as to size, etc. The only thing the cashier could think of (and it is ultimately what worked) was that it was meant to be the QUENCH bodywash (not the ribbons) because that's what was pictured.

Interestingly, in a separate transaction there, I couldn't get the Oral B Zooth $1/1 q's to work, either. Somehow he forced those through, though.

Oh well. :-( Thought I was going to get some more Christmas shopping knocked out with the Olay, but I guess not...

Anonymous said...

I did the Glade deal first (OOP $4.99) and got $3. in RR. Then did a second transaction on the Olay and paid for it with my RR, (with mentos 3/$3 + 2 .55 off coupons, as a filler). Total OOP was $5.88! Sweet! I love it when a plan comes together! Thank you HIP!

Ashley said...

I went to a walgreen I was told that I could not use the B1G1 becuase that was like I was tring to double coupons

olga said...

the deal did not work ... a waste of my time, basically the stupid manager and cashier was like no you cant do it because the olay body wash costs 2.99 and the lotion is 7.99 its more than the body wash, we cant put it in the computer system like that. i was pissed off, i was telling them both that it doesn't say any price limit so they can put it through, they didn't want to, UGH!!!

Anonymous said...

It beeped for me and I could tell the the cashier couldn't figure out why, so he pushed it through. I don't even know why it beeped. I was using the buy 1 olay body wash and get a lotion free (with the free shower lotion in the WG ad) I usually have so many problems at the WG, so I am glad it actually worked out in the end. It was 2.99 for the 3 items.

Anonymous said...

Sweeeet got mine last night! Awesome deal. Yeah! you can use that other $1 man.q and get em for .33c each WOOT WOOT!.

The reason WHY it beeps, is the one q. has a box on it where the cashier has to hand-write in the amount the item is. Thats all.

Awesome find! This Site saves all of us so much money! and I and others can donate to those in need!

So its a win, win!!
Thanks so much for all you do!!!

Anonymous said...

Hey Ashley and others that encounter this. Tell em to void it and go to another one. Or go at a diff. time and get some other person.

That cashier dont know sqwat! and will always blame it on something like that. You tell em, know I have 2 products and you can use 1q per item. If they dont do it, walk away and find another store/cashier. I had one tell me the same thing. Bo-hockey! I tell em. lol

Karen P. said...

I had the same issue with my transaction. I purposefully picked a cashier that looked "accomodating" and at first he was going to give me the $7.99 off, but then looked at something on his register and said he could only give me $4.99 off on the lotion, because it was making him pick the "lowest priced lotion" even though the in shower lotion had already been deducted from my transaction. So, I ended up paying $5.99 for all three. Not the best deal, but I'll take it.

Anonymous said...

I was not able to get the deal at my walgreens either. They said because the in shower lotion was free that it would not let them ring up another free lotion. I'm also starting to not like them because they never have the correct sale signs up at my walgreens.

Anonymous said...

hmmm, no bogo coupon on my CA p and g?

Ashlee Stone said...

Just got back from walgreens and this did NOT work for me. The cashier told me she could not override b/c you get the shower lotion free. My walgreens only had the body ribbons body wash so I couldn't even try to do it with the quench body wash. Good luck to everyone else!

Anonymous said...

oops, scratch that, looking at wrong insert.

so, I just got back and this deal would not work and I got a beep....the cashier didin't want to do it, but they were busya nd the manager said to just put it through. WOHOO for people in line.

Leesa said...

I had the SAME problem as Holly in AZ! The manager was so rude to me and says "I cannot legally do that." I couldn't believe she said that to me. I was so angry. I tried to explain to her how it works, but she wouldn't listen. Oh well, I'm going to go to a different Walgreens later on today. Wish me luck!

Nicole said...

I've had the same problems as many of you. The gal said she could only take $2.99 off for the body wash and my total for trying to do this twice was $23.something. I ended up telling her to just scratch the whole order. She was nice about it, and I would normally ask why, but seeing as how I'm 39 weeks pregnant with a 20-month-old.... the energy was just not there! I'll try a different store, or maybe go back tonight without my daughter in tow :) Hope it works!

J said...

How was everyone able to do this? I got turned down at 3 Wags!!! Waste of my time, but probably worth it if you can get the deal. One manager said he had been notified that the ribbons wash should not work for the deal, but I have a feeling he was just saying that b/c someone else had probably tried this before me. :(

Anonymous said...

I couldn't do it either. They even tried to take off the $7.99 for me but it still beeped. They said that they could only take $4.99 off even though that item was already free. The manager was nice about it though and would have taken off the $7.99 but the register just wouldn't let him. So I passed on the deal.

Shana said...

This worked for me at my one and only Walgreens in town (so if they hadn't allowed it, I would have been out of luck). The cashier scanned the BOGO coupon first and it made a weird beeping noise, so she scanned all the other coupons then went back to the BOGO q. Scanned it again and it just did the regular beep that asks for the price that time, so she entered the $7.99 with no problem. I got the Olay Ribbons (I love the Ribbons one, so I was very happy about this) and was able to use my $1 off body wash q too and also got the free in shower lotion. Sorry to hear others of you are having such a hard time! :( I think I lucked out because this one very coupon friendly cashier was working the beauty counter today. She's always excited about the deals and has no problems taking all my coupons because she uses coupons too. I waited in line specifically for her on this deal instead of going to the front cashier in case there were any problems.

Anonymous said...

YAY! I got this today! Had so much success at WAGS with the Ecotrin, band-aids, and Olay!!! I'm on a super high! The cashiers are starting to recognize me and today the guy said, "I'm not supposed to give you the highest price off the Olay, but since you are always in here, and I love to see all your deals and how much money you save, I'll do it for you." THANKS HIP!! I tell everyone it's ALL YOU!!

Anonymous said...

I did the deal wrong. I got 2 lotions for $7.99 and 2 shower baths for $4.99 and 5 trident gums. I had the BOGO Olay coupon and 2 BOGO trident gum coupons and a $1 Olay shower bath coupon. My total came to $9.99 plus $2.00 taxes. Then the cashier refunded me 3 dollars for some reason. I paid OOP about $4 (used a $5 RR coupon). In my deal, I got over $32 worth of items for only $4. Excluding the gum, $1 per item. I got the 2 $4.99 items free and the $7.99 item free. Did it by accident though.

Rachel F said...

Olay has the Quench Body lotions with a different UPC code than the manufacturer's coupon. If you look at the coupon, it is for a 37000 item, but the Olay Quench Body Lotion doesn't have the same first five digits. This is the reason it won't work. The coupon is looking for a 37000 item with a price tag of 7.99 and not finding it. I tried to explain this to my Wags, but they still wouldn't accept the Q. So when you buy the larger body wash for 8 something, it works because it is taking off the 7.99 from that product, not the lotion.

Anonymous said...

Beeped for me also - luckily both head SM's at 2 stores pushed it through for me. The only reason store #2 pushed it through because I told him SM #1 did yesterday....

lifegloswhenusave said...

I was so excited to go to Wags and do this Olay deal but when the manager said I couldn't get the lotion free because I was already getting a free item I told him he can keep the free item and let me still use the coupon to purchase the body wash & get the lotion free. Still didn't work! I came home and looked at all the comments you guys wrote to see what I did wrong. I'm sad it didn't work for you either. I also did not have a good experience at Wags and everytime I go there I always end up regretting it. CVS or Target are better stores to deal with coupons, in my own experience & opinion.

Rachael said...

Love this deal! I was able to use the coupon with no problem. It beeped but the cashier just did an over ride and put it in. I'm pretty sure she was just wanting to go home and didnt care! I'm super excited to use these in gift baskets!

Worked great at my Wags. I was worried after reading about all the bad experiences but I was lucky. My cashier was really nice and said she was glad to see a young person like her using coupons because her friends call her a grandma for doing it. Haha, I thought of the banner on your site saying- it's not your grandmas coupon site! So true!

I went to the store by my place of work before my shift today. Bought a glade candle holder and refill pack and the olay items. I gave the 'buy holder get refill free' coupon and then the olay 'buy body wash get lotion free' coupon. The second one wouldn't go through so the cashier called up the manager. While the cashier was explaining the situation to the manager (and doing so incorrectly) I tired to interject to explain and the manager held up his hand to me and told me to 'hush up' !!!!! Seriously?! Then when I was explaining that by buying the lotion the in shower lotion is free and by buying the wash and using the coupon the lotion will be free he kept interrupting me telling me that it was wrong. he said he could take off 2.99 for the body wash but that was it. I told him that that would defeat the purpose of the coupon since its 'buy wash get lotion' not 'buy lotion get wash.' He then told me that it would bring my total negative if he allowed me to get the lotion for free. I tried to tell him that it would not as I am still paying for the candle holder ($2.50) and the body wash ($2.99) plus tax. He said I was incorrect and accused me of coupon fraud and theft! I told him to take the items off and that I'd still buy the candle stuff and told him that I'd be calling corporate about this situation. used my debit card and requested $10 cash back so that after work I could go to one of my other walgreens (my town has 3 total) and try this deal there and just pay cash. walked out and went to work.

get to the other store and first ask the cashier if this transaction will be an issue. She says "no. But if it is we'll make it work. You're not doing anything wrong." I go to the photo counter to pick up some pictures and realize that the manager at the first store never gave me my $10! The photo gal told me to call first thing tomorrow and tell them and that they should give it back to me. (Fingers crossed that they will). Grabbed the other stuff I was wanting (another set of candles, granola bars and some of the candy that gives register rewards). went up to the counter to pay. . . my coupon went through with no beeps other than the one to write in the amount. No issues whatsoever. So weird.

Bad experience and a good one. Hopefully I can get my $10 back tomorrow and there aren't any hassles. I'm also going to be calling corporate to let them know how a member of their management team treated someone who makes them money.

I tried to to this deal. The manager came over and kept trying to scan the B11 coupon. I told him I had the right products, but he just kept trying to scan it. He kept saying it's not going thru. I just told him to cancel it. He would not manually put it thru. He said the coupon clubs are costing them money, because they don't get always get their money back from the manufacturers. He also said they weren't anymore coupon books because that is also making them lose money. I definitey won't be going to that Walgreens anymore.

Anonymous said...

ERGH! I was so annoyed with this deal! I tried to purchase it at my local WALGREENS, only to find out~ I quote "Walgreens has had to make changes to the coupon policies in recenter months due to coupon fraud." The Asst. Manager was SO rude, accusing me of fraud, theft, etc. etc. I was VERY calm and pursued it, however, she would NOT make it work, because she yelled loudly "I'm not going to get fired over losing my job for this stupid coupon!" I finished the transaction, and left. WELL- I was SOO mad about it overnight, that I decided to go back and return it all today!! GUESS who was at the return counter when I came in... "Oh you're going to return this all, now?" Yes, I am was my reply- sweet as Pie! She couldn't SLAM the keys hard enough to process the return!! GEESH!!! Just because I'm trying to maximize my savings!!

Thanks, Rachel F! That explains why I was able to do the transaction with the larger body wash!

How dumb that Olay has the wrong code on the q!!!

Anonymous said...

I am about fed up with Walgreens. There coupon/RR system is a pain in the butt to use and takes too much time. Tonight was the icing on the cake. Walgreens in Charleston, WV, would not honor the BOGO Olay coupon, even though I pointed out several times to the manager that I was fulfilling the coupon requirements. Then to top it off, I tried to buy the Complete saline to do that deal, and it would not take my RR even though it was well below the subtotal. Have only been doing Walgreens for a couple of weeks and have had more problems already than in the year plus I have been doing CVS. Tried Walgreens, don't like it.

Thanks so much for this deal idea!! I never would have put it together myself. Went yesterday and got all three. The cashier had a heck of a time figuring out how to ring everything, but finally was able to do it. I didn't have the extra $1 Q, but I got the $7.99 lotion free, the $4.99 in-shower lotion free, and just paid $2.99 for the body wash. So $2.99 for all three is pretty awesome!!

And while I was there I stumbled upon another cool deal (not sure if it's in all the stores). Hubby wanted me to get him some Biore pore strips so I've been saving up coupons and watching for a sale. Wags had a buy one, get 1/2 off a second. Not great, but he really wanted them so I figured it was as good as I was going to get. So while I was buying those, right next to them I noticed this Biore Skin Preservation Dual Fusion Moisturizer that had a sign saying "last chance $14.99 now only $3.79" I knew I had a $3 Q for that line in my binder so I grabbed one and then grabbed another because ANOTHER sign said that if I paid in cosmetics I could get another $2 off. I totally forgot about the buy 1 get 1/2 off deal with Biore. Thankfully I rang these up separately from the pore strips. Anyway, I bought two for $3.79, they took $1.90 off for the sale, AND then I had my $3 Q and one of their $2 Qs, so I paid a whopping .76 for two bottles of moisturizer that would have cost me $30 normally!! I think it's the best deal I've ever gotten!!

Thanks again for all the hard work you put into your awesome blog. I read it MANY times a day and it's MUCH appreciated!!

I could not get this deal to work with the Olay Ribbons. I had to buy the 7.99 body wash, which is the body wash pictured on the coupon. When I purchased that it went through without beeping, but was not a great deal.....

Natalie said...

I did this deal fine at a local walgreens through a manager, but when I went to another walgreens to do the deal, they would not allow it and told me that I was "trying to beat the system." I was very upset and made them void all the Olay products...but I still got my free bandiads! When I left I called corporate and talked to a customer service rep. and she told me that it is up to the manager at that store.
