How is that $25.00 before coupons?

kara said...

How is that more than $25.00 before coupons?

Anonymous said...

because the packs are $6.49 and if you buy 4 you are spending $25.96 which is MORE than $25 (before coupons)

Anonymous said...

its a good deal

Charmel said...

I was in today and bought 5 Nexxus shampoos at $5.49 each which was $27.45. Used the Nexxus coupon to deduct $20. So only $7.45 for 5 shampoos and I got back $5 RR.

Julie said...

Is anyone else having trouble printing the John Frieda $2 coupon? The right half of the coupon isn't printing for me... Any suggestions?

Susan said...

There is a $5.00 off two John Freida which makes it a better deal! YAY!!

Anonymous said...

theres a 5.00 off of 2 coupon .. even better and pair it with the 3/1.. im guessing we can use 2 of these store coupons or im thinking we just need one.. as i see the Nexxus deal posted

Anonymous said...

where is this 200 dollar coupon thing?

Anonymous said...

Where is the $5/2 coupon for John Frieda?!?!

Anonymous said...

today my total was $27, after coupons then I gave them $5 in RR's and got nothing back. shouldn't i have gotten the additional $5 in RR's or am I missing something? please advise. :) thanks.

Anonymous said...

anon do a search for personal item and you can use the drop down menu

Susan said...

Anon 2:21 when I clicked on the like Hip posted for the $2 off one the very first one it showed for me was the $5.00 off 2. I had the zip code blank, so I hope that helps you! :)

Stephanie said...

Today I bought some Reese's miniatures--on sale for 2/$6, use $1 off 2 in new coupon bk, use $1/2 from SS, receive $1 RR = 2/$3 (would work on lots of different candy)

Anonymous said...

Anon 2:22 - My WG has told me that it's $25 before MANF coupons, but AFTER WG coupons. Clear as mud?

So, for instance, I'm buying the Burt's Bee's Hand Sanitizer. It's normally 4.99, but there is a $1 store coupon. So, I need to buy 7 (x 3.99) to get to the $25 mark. They I have $1 manf coupons I can use on each.

Anonymous said...

Anon. 2:22 Did you use the $5 Holiday RR? I believe it doesn't roll.

Anonymous said...

5 rr doesnt roll for the holiday.. hey my total comes to 24.96 do i need extra 6 cents or does this include take to get the 5.00

thanks!

mashley said...

who is finding this coupon sheet??

Anonymous said...

ok so how does this work

im buying 2 packs of viva
buy things of john frieda

I 2 man coupon for towels, one for john frieda, and then 2 addition store coupons for the item listed and RR.. I dont want the computer to beep

in total 4 items 3 manufact coupons
1 Register Reward
and 2 store coupons

Anonymous said...

2 items on john frieda.. above

kara said...

Charmel,
Our store sells Nexxus for $9.99. Was yours on sale or clearance or????

Anonymous said...

do i need to exceed the number of coupons i have ..

I know with register rewards and coupons you have to have the same amt not less does that work with the store coupons as well

do i need fillers?

Kristin said...

Kara - they have a small bottle of shampoo for $5.49. I believe the coupon specifically says it cannot be used on clearance items.

Anonymous said...

Anon 2:41 - you would need to get 1 filler. RR's are considered manufacturer coupons. Store coupons do not count towards your item/coupon count.

Renee Richins said...

I was able to print 2 $2 John Frieda coupons and 2 $5/2 coupons from one computer. I'm going to mix these with the Viva paper towels if I can find the $200 Walgreens coupons to go with them.

Ashley B. said...

Collin - can you please verify what anon 2:22 and 2:32 are saying about the $25 total can be after mgr coupons but before WAGS coupons??? anyone else done this yet? please share your experiences b/c I would like to go today!

Anonymous said...

thanks anon 257!

Bethany said...

I don't know if anyone else has been told & noticed, but just about all walgreen's coupons are MANUFACTURER coupons. And you can't stack with another manufacturer coupon.

Unknown said...

There is also a $1.00 off curel itch defense in the Walgreens Diabetes Magazine that was out a while back that can be combined with the other coupons.

Anonymous said...

I called Walgreens and they said the 25 has to be after their (walgreens coupons) and the manufacturer's)

Stacy said...

Give the Wags coupon first and it should work. If they say no, at least you tried. It worked a couple weeks ago with the M&M's for me. Good luck!

Kristin said...

Bethany - were are you getting that information? Walgreens coupons are store coupons. They have no address to submit in for reimbursement and the barcodes are not like manu Q's, they are unique for use only at Walgreens.

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:08 - you were given incorrect information. I have done this several times (my OOP usually being about $2.00 after Q's and RR's) and I always have gotten the $5.00. Also check the slickdeals forum...it's full of people who have done the same and gotten the RR. Wags has no idea what they are talking about.

kara said...

Bethany,
Manufacturer coupons are different that Walgreens "manufacturer" coupons and CAN be stacked. I do it all the time.

Anonymous said...

do wags take expired rr like cvs ecb in arlington, tx?

Anonymous said...

its manufact coupons first /store / then rr rewards right?

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:19 - I have found the best way to do it is RR/Manu Q/Store Q.

Bill (WAG employee) said...

OK. The $25 can include the store coupons. So buying 4 packs of the paper towels for $25.96 is correct. You'll get a $5 walgreens rr. Please note, if you use the RR's you got from buying $25 last week, you will not receive another RR. I've even noticed it works with bogo stuff WHEN AND ONLY WHEN the items ring up with BGLP next to them. When it scans at the register at for for full price and one for 0 it won't work. But to clarify:

1) Make sure the total is before tax over $25.
2) You can use the store coupons and manu. coupons after. If the cashier said it won't work, they have no control if the RR pops out, and it will.
3) If you have say $50 and you want to do the $25 and get $5 thing twice, go to cosmetics. The ladies in cos need sales (cos stuff or otherwise) and will be much more likely to split the order up.

Any other questions, I'll try to answer after work.

Anonymous said...

coupons.com is putting limits on how many coupons can be printed, tryin to print anothe viva $2 coupon, I have a mssge that says "print limit reached" anyone else hvin this issue? So, the scenerio of printing 4 coupons would not work

stella said...

thanks! 322

Anonymous said...

Can I use RR to pay for part of the sales tax? For example: If my subtotal(after coupons but before RR) is $1 and after tax is $2, can I use my $2 RR to pay the remaining balance? Thanks in advance for answering my question.

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:25 - that is nothing new. There is typically only a limit of 2 per computer. You would need access to a 2nd computer to print 4

Anonymous said...

So you can use the Walgreens flyer coupon & a Walgreens in-ad coupon on the same product, right?

Anonymous said...

The $5 RR for spending $25 will not print if you use a pervious $5 RR from spending $25....I made the mistake last week! so save them up to use together at another time....but i have to say I LOVE WAGS!!! and CVS

Brittany said...

Anon 3:18

My closest Walgreens doesn't take expired RRs. I don't know if they're all consistent about that, though.

Anonymous said...

I just got back from wags. I purchased 2 paper towels (6.99 ea) and 2 John Freida (6.99 ea.). Total - 27.96. Used 2.00 viva coupons, $5/2 John Frieda, and the wags coupons, taking another 10.00 off. Paid $10 and change, got a $3/2 John Freida and the $5 rr. It works - thanks Collin! -Lisa

Anonymous said...

John Frieda at my store was 6.99. I usually buy low budget shampoo, but I tried this for my really dry hair. It is really amazing. I used the shampoo and the conditioner

My zip 92111 has a 2 for $5.00 coupon making these $1.50. I usually never pay for Shampoo, but I will buy this product.

Thanks Hip. We love you. I've managed to do a very nice Christmas thanks mostly to you, and stay out of debt despite pay reductions in this household.

ALWAYS USE MANU Q'S FIRST AND STORE COUPONS 2ND (THIS INCLUDES TARGET ALSO) IN ORDER TO AVOID BEEPAGE (AND OBTAIN OVERAGE IN THE TARGET SCENARIO)

Meghan said...

I saw this coupons all over Wags last week--why did I not bring them home to admire?

Anonymous said...

If you buy 4 John Freida will the Wags $3.00 coupon take off $12???

Anonymous said...

Can you use a RR that wasn't the $5 Holiday?

Anonymous said...

What is the $200 coupon thing???

Anonymous said...

CAN WE JUST PRINT THIS ONE??? wILL IT WORK?

Charmel said...

Kara, I bought the smaller shampoos, they are $5.49. All the other nexxus products are over $10.

Anonymous said...

Nevermind about the $200 coupon quesiton. I just scrolled down and found it. :) Hopefully my Wags will have it...

Anonymous said...

So is the $5 RR every time you spend $25 or more?

MamaBear said...

I know some people have already commented on this but I too have gotten my $5 rr with my total being $25 before coupons. The other day I paid only $1.98 after coupons and got the $5 rr plus the $2 stayfree rr. I've gotten 3 of the $5 rr's and have always gotten them with my total being $25 or more BEFORE the coupons.

I also split my transactions up if I have more than $25 worth and try to work it that way. I'm just trying to figure out what I'm gonna use these on since they expire on Saturday and I don't think anything looks all that great aside from some food stuff. Oh boy . . . .

Anonymous said...

The link to the Viva coupon won't work for me.

Anonymous said...

I found that some Wags managers will tell customers that the $25 to get $5 HRR has to be AFTER coupons, only because they do not want their coupon customers to get in on the deal. They figure if they tell this incorrect information, customers will not proceed. Please remember: You CAN definitely get $5 HRR AFTER you use ALL your coupons. In this order: Man q's, Wags q's, then RR. :)

Anonymous said...

When I try to click on the Viva coupon, it wouldn't select it..... any suggestions? Also, is the $200 walgreens coupon book just at the store? Thanks

Erin said...

Uhmmmmmm I don't have a place to store 24 rolls of paper towels :( Booo

Angela said...

Thanks Bill!

That was so nice of you to make sure that we are all understanding correctly :)

bttrfly1900 said...

My walgreens would not take both coupons. They said that the printable coupon and the Walgreens coupons were both considered store coupons since one said Kmart on it.

Anonymous said...

I just got home from Walgreens and tried to get 4 packages of Viva. Cashier would not let me use the 2/1 walgreen and my 2/1 manu. The register beeped and said I could not use both. Whats up with that?

Anonymous said...

Do we have to scan manu cpns first, then wags? If so why do some cashiers say they have to scan wags cpn first.

Michelle said...

For those that do not have these flier coupons... you cant print them here. I printed mine and it scanned and went thru fine! :) Hope this helps!!

what i usually do is hand the manf coupon first and then say oh wait got one more.. too late wags cashier you already scannned it baw wah wah wah aaaaaaah

Anonymous said...

the flyer says before coupons so id just show that to the cashier

Michelle said...

Anon 5:25... I bought (4) vivas and used (4) printable q's first AND the wags q right after, also a $5 RR last and they all went thru with no problem. It should have worked for you, not sure why it didn't.

SaraJC said...

lol Anon 5:36 pm

Ashley B. said...

some cashiers/mgrs say they have to scan the WAGS coupons first b/c they know the system sometimes beeps and then won't accept your manu coupons and they don't want you to get in on the deal...I swear these people think we are taking the money straight from their pockets!

Anonymous said...

What does the 4-page flyer look like? Is it just B&W on plain white paper? Or is it a fancy color flyer?

Anonymous said...

I don't know if all Wags are different but it works every time for me when they scan 1-Wags, 2- Manf., 3-RR. I just did the Viva and Ziploc bags tonight and it worked great! Now, I have to figure out what to spend all those $5/25 RR on by Sunday...even the ones that printed tonight expire on 12/20. Not too long to use them.

Anonymous said...

yeah heads up 5.00 coupon noT A FULL WEEK..

Im turning around and using it right away..oop I just figured it out ill spend 3.00 for tons of shampoo and paper towels and dukielax

kara said...

Anon 5:25 The same happened to me. The cashier called a manager I he said sorry I can't make it work. But after much discusion and take with another manager they made it work. It's too bad you have to cause a scene to make them do what's right.

Janet said...

I just got back from Walgreens and I purchased 2 of the John Frieda Root Awakening Hair Care product the shampoo and conditioner and found out that it was on sale for $5 each! Plus I had the buy 2 get $5 off plus the $3 off wags coupon. I was so excited I had to tell someone. Also I got wipes as a filler.

Anonymous said...

Bill (WAG Employee)! You Rock! Thanks so much for helping out the confused! Thanks for sharing the wealth!

Amy in AZ said...

To Anon about the Expired RR:
My Wags too my RR a couple weeks ago. I had asked the manager and he tried to scan and they went thru fine. No beeps. After I shopped I went to the cashier and thought I would have to tell the cashier the manager said it was ok and they did not even notice the date and/or care. Used all my expired $25.00 that da. They were only a few days old though.

Anonymous said...

I did the viva deal and it was great! I also got a coupon in the mail for $5 off of $20 at Walgreens so that made an even sweeter deal. Wahoo!! I am due in April and going to use these to make baby wipes. Thanks Hip2Save!

Allison said...

I love my Wag in S. FL. The manager knows I love my coupons and he personally gave me a set of these new coupons today along with a 15% of my entire purchase on Friday. It is great when you have a manager and employees who go above and beyond and care for there customers! They always take my coupons and rarely ever have a problem!

Anonymous said...

Just did the John Frieda deal so awesome!!!!

Anonymous said...

At my store some of the nexuss products were on clearance, the coupon states can't be used on clearance or trial sized, so watch out for this. My transaction was good, Huggies Overnights, Fusion Razor, Herbal Essence shampoo, and box of cherrios, spent $10, got $11 in RR, had a free item coupon for the shampoo.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Michelle for the link to the coupons. They printed out just fine and were accepted at my Wags. Thanks Hip2Save!

Ashley B. said...

Root Awakening was 6.99 at my store - didn't buy but might go back tomorrow to get it since thats a good price anyways and seen a lot of good comments on it here. Curel was 7.79 - which i bought. The only Nexxus that was $5.49 was a small bottle of shampoo - bought 3 of those, 1 Curel lotion, 2 filler items so I could use some RR - total came to a little over $25, used Nexxus wags coupon, Curel $3WAGS & $2MGR, used $8RR - only paid $0.04! and got back $5RR for spending over $25!

Anonymous said...

I went and got the Viva papertowels and I am in Texas. No problems at all.. Thanks so much for this.. I love Viva papertowels..

Shelly T. said...

The John Frieda Root Awakening Hair Care product was $6.99 at my WAGS so I did not do that deal.

I did get three(that's all they had) of the Nexxus Hair Care products for $5.49, and combined that with the Ghirardelli chocolate deal to get my total up to $25.00 before coupons, so I could get the $5.00 RR. I only ended up paying $8.47 after coupons & got back the $5.00RR!!

Tina said...

I think you have to have the cashier hit the "total" button before handing over coupons so the $25 or more price registers in the system....that may help? This is what I've been doing.

k said...

The John Frieda was $6.99 at my Wags too - but I did the deal because I LOVE that stuff. I got it on a RR deal when I first started to coupon and it is now my favorite. Especially nice to take when traveling as the tubes pack nicely.

My Wags didn't have the 6 packs of Viva. Going to check our other Wags tomorrow. I still have $50 in RRs to use up - and no Free after RRs in sight so very little to roll. I did one of the Completes last night, but there were none left by tonight.

k said...

Oh - I have to say - I picked up a perscription tonight too - usually I'll go back and get that and then do the rest of my shopping, but forgot tonight. The cashier offered to do the rest of my stuff - I said "I have coupons!" she said no problem - but it was a little bit of an ordeal for her. She had to stretch her bar code scanner, she had to void my perscription so I could use RRs (paid for the perscription seperately) and then when I had a $40 bill and started by handing her 3 $10 RRs she says "I can only take one of these" - so we had a little discussion about the wording (RRs and mfr coupons not to exceed number of items). Also I had to ask to make sure she had a catalina machine (I did Ducolax and was over $25.00). Anyway she took all the coupons, did the special coupons and my RRs printed so all was well. She might not want to take on a couponer in the future though - but she was energetic about it!

Bill (WAG employee) said...

To answer one question, no, you can't use register rewards to pay for tax. Our system will not accept it.

Someone else asked about in-store coupons and manufacturer coupons together. By all means yes, if the cashier says no they're lying. Any of the in-store coupons where the barcode is a bunch of zeros and then 4 digits is a "in store coupon" which really is nothing more than a normal sale except you have to type in a few digits to activate it. Does that make sense? From a business standpoint, Walgreens doesn't loose say $2 on the Viva paper towels. Kleenex probably splits the cost of the sale with Walgreens. Anyways, I'll stop blabbing. Maybe hip2save should have a "ask a real walgreens employee" blog :)

Anonymous said...

I am so frustrated had 2 transactions first one was 36 before coupons second was 27 before coupons and then nothing printed out...

Leslie said...

I went to do the Viva paper towels deal and the register wouldn't accept the $2/1 Viva MQ from the Kmart.com site...the cashier had to get an override after VERY thoroughly reading the fine print...the register said no but the cashier said yes ;)

Meghan said...

Although I wasn't using any MQ from Target's site, my cashier told me they were told not to accept them. Apparently there was a big coupon meeting at this store earlier today.

If you have extra RRs and are unsure what to do with them, consider purchasing a B1G1 toy for $6.99, some OTC meds, or personal care items to donate.

mona said...

for facebook fans, you can use the 15% off coupon on 17th and 18th! print the coupon from the "fan offer" tab of walgreens' account on your facebook.

here's my plan:

5 viva $5.52 (15% off $6.49)=27.60
toblerone $1.50
=$29.10
-$10 printable manu q
-$10 wags q
-$.50 toblerone wags q
=$8.60 + 2.55tax
=$11.15

pay $8 rr + $3.15 oop

get $5 hd rr

cost $6.15 for 5 packs of viva!!!

Mary said...

thanks Mona! I just did it!!!!

losingitagain said...

If you are using one WAGS Q to get $20 off the Nexxus hair care, can you use a RR to pay for the difference (as long as it is not the holiday RR from last week) without using a filler (since you are buying 5 items but only 1 coupon...or do they count that one coupon 5 times) I think WAGS Q don't usually count in your coupon count, right?

SaraJC said...

I wanted to stock up on viva paper towels but it seems like others got in on it. Only one pack left. =[ lol
Oh well, I did get the John Frieda deal which was a great deal aswell.

Kari said...

I can't find the $5/2 coupon for John Frieda. Where is it?

Amber said...

The John Freida was $6.49 at my store - I bought 4, used 2 $5/2 Qs, the $3 Wags Q and paid $5.71 with tax and got back the $5 RR. I love this product and am so stoked! Thanks Collin!

Anonymous said...

My WAGS would not let me use the VIVA coupon because it says K-Mart:(

Anonymous said...

No viva at my WAGS..only 2 of the non clearance nexxus at my wags. So here is what I did:
Used my 15% for being a facebook fan at cosmetics counter only
Bought 2 Nexxus 4.67 each after 15% off
Bought 2 John Frieda 5.52 each after 15% off
Bought 3 coke products which are 3/10
but 2.83 each after 15% off
then used $5/2 John Frieda
Plus, use the $3/1 coupon from the Walgreens $200 coupon flyer
$4/1 coupon from the Walgreens $200 coupon flyer
total with tax 11.76
plus got $5 rr for spending $25
and $2 rr for the coke products

lKay said...

The $5/2 John Freida is on smartsource.com - when i clicked on the coupon to "clip it" $0 value showed but when it flew outta my printer.. BOOM : $5/2 !!

Anonymous said...

The flyer is just B&W copies, stapled together, so printing out the pdf would work. FYI @ my WAGS, the Viva is $6.99 and the John Freida is $6.99.

Anonymous said...

who has the PDF LINK

TheInspiredHousewife said...

My Walgreens told me that the total had to be $25 BEFORE coupons to get the RR. So frustrating!!!

Anonymous said...

yes august wife its before coupons.. thats how it is at my wags.. im lucky to have great ladies at wags

Anonymous said...

this worked beautifully for me today, got 3 nexxus for 5.49, one for 8.99, then did the viva deal, got 2 and 2 john frieda, total oop was $21.63, minus the $10 in RR, makes for a fantastic deal..

Anonymous said...

It is NOT before coupons. Make sure the cashier hits total and it's above $25. Then hand over the coupons and your $5 RR will print.

Anonymous said...

Oops! I meant to say it's not AFTER coupons. Just make sure the cashier totals it, so it's $25 then hand over coupons.

Anonymous said...

Hey Bill - can you comment on the problem people are having with the Viva coupon? It was printed from Kmart's site, but it is a mfr coupon -

Natalie said...

I just got back from walgreens...I went to spend my Holiday dollars before they expire and got up there with lots of item and handed 25 holiday dollars over, but it wouldnt work because you can only use 1 holiday dollar per transaction...

Christy said...

Just finished at Walgreens. As long as your total is $25 before you've given any coupons, your $5RR will print out. If you try to use one of your $5RR from last weeks deal, it WILL NOT print another $5RR.

Dang it!! JF coupon...didn't print, tiny icon instead...I hate that!!

I am very new to the coupon saving world. I went to Walgreens and did exactly what it said to purchase the Viva paper towels. The only difference was the extra 15% off coupon. I did not get the $5 for spending $25. I asked the manager and she said I had to pay $25 to get it. What did I do wrong?

Anonymous said...

My Wags wouldnt take the $5/2 MQ AND the $3.00 Walgreen coupon for the John Frieda, she said they were BOTH MQ's. And it did say mq on the $3.00 wags coupon. Whats up with that??

LOVE the Nexxus deal! Awesome! I bought 6 of the $5.49 shampoos (all they had). I didn't have the $4 coupons from the $200 coupon savings book, but they had a master copy at the register. My sweet cashier rang it all up together so I was also able to get the $5RR back and used her master coupon.

sweet! I just scored 4 John Freida shampoos for $0.96!

4 Shampoos
Walgreens $3/1
2 Printable $5/2

$5 RR!
Final Cost: $0.96 for all:)
