just wanted to thank you for all your work on this blog. I just started "couponing" a few months ago & thanks to you I have really learned so much about how to save more money!

I have a question about the CVS 4 off 20 and 5 off 25 coupons.....When you have a CVS sale for Buy one get one free, do the price of both of those items go towards your minimum purchase for the coupon or only the one that you actually pay for?

For example, the Purex is BOGO for $5.99 so does $11.98 go towards the $20 meaning I only have to get $8.02 in more products or does the $5.99 only get applied?

Hopefully that makes sense to someone???

Thanks!!!

It says no prints left for Neosporin Lip Health

Holly,
Your question does make sense. I would think that only the $5.99 would be count...what you can do is have an extra $6.00 worth of stuff, but don't give it to them until you see if you need that to be added to use your $4.00 coupon. Buy the Purex and your extra $8.02, hand over the coupon, if they say they can't take the $4.00 coupon, then give them your extra stuff. I hope that makes sense.

Sorry,
That should be "only the $5.99 would count"

wow. slow week at CVS. I was hoping for something better.

Holly,

Here in Michigan you will only get credit for the $5.99 once. So you would only have $5.99 towards your $20 purchase to use a $5 off $20 coupon.

But take Frans advice and try it without the extra stuff first and see what happens, it may be different in your area.

I need a competitors coupon for a new or transferred prescription so I can use it as CVS. Does anyone know where I can get one???

Karla,
If you get an ad for RiteAid, there are 2 $25.00 coupons in their ad that starts tomorrow...they always seem to be in there. If you don't get the ad, maybe you can print the coupon from their web site.

Just a heads up. I went to CVS yesterday and they had Soft soap bady wash marked down to .99 from 4.99 regular price. If there are any coupons for them it would make a sweet deal. I bought 4 at that price anyway. I'm in NY.

Is anyone else dissapointed with CVS lately? I haven't been shopping there in quite some time! Walgreens is the place to go for me (lately) I wonder why it is so off and on between the two?

Thank you Fran & Julie so much for the help with the prescription coupons. It is great to have a network of people to assist each other. I love hip2save & the followers!

Rachael Ray/Youtube effect...just killing all deals.

What is the Rachel Ray/ Youtube effect?
CVS has been great for me the last couple of weeks. This week sucks.
Wags is great but a pain in my area. It's just not fair. Have a great shopping week everyone!

Chris said...

Is it this week that the fun sized Halloween candy is BOGO? I'm assuming this would count toward the $20 for the $5 RR, right?

Chris said...

Oops, I meant EC bucks.

Lynn said...

Holly, the item your purchasing and the free item will go towards your total purchase price. You can see my scenario for the Loreal using the $5/25
here. HTH

can you really use two coupons on BOGO items?

Holly in AZ said...

Thank you Fran, Chrys and Lynn!

My goal every time I go to CVS is not to spend anything or very little...so this matters in my plan.

To Lynn, I saw your senario....have you actually tried that before? Also, the Loreal coupons clearly state "Limit one coupon per purchase", so do you know if they will beep if you use two?

I did the Halloween candy deal this morning and did pretty good. This is what I got:

(1) large bag (100 pieces)of mixed Hersheys, Reeses, Kit Kat - $9.99

(2) bags of Nestle Crunch bars - $6.00

(1) bag of Wonka mixed - $4.99

(2) small bags of Gold Emblem cashews - $1.98

(2) boxes of Gold Emblem candy - $2.00

Total = $25.52

Used:
(1) $5/$25 coupon
(2) $1.00 Nestle coupons = $2.00
(1) $1.00 Wonka coupon
(1) $1.00 Gold Emblem nut coupon
(1) $1.00 Gold Emblem candy
(1) $10.00 ECB

Total OOP $5.07

Plus I got back $5.00 in ECB for purchasing $20.00 worth of Halloween candy so it ended up costing me $.07 for all of it!

Karla,
In my Target (DFW, TX) ad this week, there is a coupon for free $10 GC for transferred prescription. Hope this helps.

Karla - Kmart is advertising a $25 gift card for a transferred prescription.

Holly,
I did the Loreal scenario and had no problems. As for the one per purchase wording just about all coupons say that and it is fine to use more than one as you are purchasing 4 and using 4 coupons, one for each item purchased. HTH

The $5/$25 links appear to all be gone now just to let everyone know. I tried everyone on several different computers and nothing! I lost one of mine and I am BUMMED about it! I only got to use two fo the three!
