I saw the pro x products on sale. And Olay has 20 back if you spend 50. Do you think the 50 is before or after coupon?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know how much those crest white strips usually cost? are they on sale? or do they just have the register reward?

Kristin said...

Anon 10:43 - that promotion starts Wednesday as part of their 4 day ad. I can't wait!

Anonymous said...

Anyone else having trouble login into the Roc site? I've already registered from last time, but when I enter my login info nothing happens. :(

Thanks Kristen, I can't wait either!

Nabisco has a new $10 rebate that started 12/1/09 and will go well with the Nabisco cracker deal as well. I wrote about it on my blog, and provided the link for the rebate.

FYI, my WG will not take the coloring book coupon for the toothbrushes. They said it has to be at regular price (which is what it says on the coupon). I hope some of you have better luck!

Anonymous said...

My WG tells me that I can not use two coupouns if it is b0g0free. Has anyone else had this problem??

Anonymous said...

As stated in previous comment sections you will probably have a hard time using the cereal coupon suggested. Even though we as couponers know this is a manufacturer coupon it still has the Target logo and most stores will not take it. I'm currious to know if anyone has had any success using it anywhere besides Target.

Christy Wheeler said...

Every time I go to Walgreens and use a manufacturers coupon I am not able to use the Walgreens coupon becasue tehy say that it is also a manufacturers coupon. Like I tried to purcase the M&M's but I could only use one. Every blog I have seen talks about using both, so is it just my Walgreen's?

Christy Wheeler said...

Oh and P.S. thanks for all the tips! I am new(er) to coupon clipping and having a ball!!

Melissa Ardito said...

You can't use a target coupon at walgreens, or anywhere else. Companies make those special coupons for target, and will only reimburse target for the coupons. Walgreens would get nothing from the company, and lose money.

Anonymous said...

Mel,

The Target coupon listed in NOT actually a Target coupon. It's just available to print on the Target site. It's actually a manufacturer coupon with a Target logo. You can take this to Walgreens and use it. Walgreens WILL get reimbursed!

Anonymous said...

my wag's: chex mix 2/$5.50. which ones r 99cents? tnks

SaraJC said...

I think I'll ask the manager first before using the $5/4 target coupon.
I dont want to make a fool of myself with my load of cereals lol.
I rather just avoid the arguing.

Melissa Ardito said...

Do you work for walgreens? They will not get reimbursed for target or kmart coupons.

Mary said...

The 25 or more, is that before coupons????

Mary said...

Target WEB coupons are different than manufacturer coupons with a target logo on them. There is a difference between the web & target coupons!

Unknown said...

Does somebody know a product that would be cheap or free this week to go with the promotion from the good housekeeping magazine?
thanks

Alicia said...

I can't get the Dulcolax coupon to print. Anyone else having this problem? It just says the site isn't available anymore when I click "get coupon" and directs me back to the home page.

Anonymous said...

Mel,

Are you listening--The $5/4 Kellogg's coupon is NOT a Target coupon--it's a manufacturer coupon, so what the heck are you talking about?!

These are NOT store coupons!

Anonymous said...

I just wanted to tell you guys about the experience I just had at walgreens haha.

My order consiste of:
3 Ecotrin.
cotton balls.
nail polish remover.
pantene.

I handed the cashier the manf. q's first. and she was like I NEED ALL OF YOUR COUPONS NOW. So, I gave her the in-ad and she scanned them. Then the ecotrin manf. q didn't scan. Which, I knew it wouldn't. I told her she is going to have to type it in. So she called the manager over. First thing she "whispered" to the manager was "I didn't take the bait!"...and then was like was like "the ecotrin are only 3.49 and she got 3..Should I still take the $10 off coupon..they would be so cheap?" The manager said yes and had no problem with it at all.

LITTLE DID SHE KNOW, she did take the bait. It's okay if she scans the in store coupon first..cause she had to type in the 10 off coupon. So I got my overage.

VICTORY. That's what she gets for trying to mess up my deals.

This is the same woman that wouldn't let me do my lubriderm deal last week..because the coupon states exluding 1 oz. and 3 oz. My lubriderm was 6 oz. AND SHE WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME. So, she called the manager over and he did it for my.

My God.

Melissa Ardito said...

Anonymous, if you can't use your real name then you shouldn't post.

If a coupon is on the target website, which the cereal coupon is, then it is a target coupon. If it says manufactured on it, but still on the target website, it is a target coupon only. You need help if you get upset over such a trivial item. I called walgreens corporate and they said they would not get reimbursed. That coupon is a special deal between target and the cereal company.

Anonymous said...

Mel I think you need to back off a bit - sometimes there are coupons in the sunday papers that have a target logo on them and they are NOT only usable at target - they even say so - something like available at target. So just because a coupon comes from targets site does not mean it can only be used there.

Mary said...

Mel ~ I tried stating before, there are two different types of coupons on targets websites, target web, and manufacturer. The target web ones you cannot use other places (like the $1 pepsi cases last week), but the manufacturers you can!

I can't believe that cashier whispered that in front of you! They treat us like we are criminals...I am actually REALLY thankful when I get a cool cashier that doesn't act like that!

Mary said...

I have had really bad cashiers, and really good ones. One even said "I need to learn to shop like you". I was telling my husband today that the lady at superfresh didn't want to take my internet coupons at first and even he said "why are people so against using coupons".... It's like we are taking money right out of their pockets!!!!

Anonymous said...

I am also curious as to the olay rebate. I would love to purchase the definity since I have $10 q's bu if it is $50 after q's then I will not be doing it.

Anonymous said...

Um, who cares about "real names" we don't know you, you don't know us. Its faster to put anon. who cares. find something else to do.

-Anon Sat Dec 05, 06:23:00 PM 2009

Thats so sneaky for that cashier to do that, specially at a distance where you can still hear her. So glad you were still able to get the deal by the assistance of the manager. That cashier is just a jealous grinch. Im so glad the wags I go to has such cool cashiers.

On another note, I think someone is getting a little worked up over the $5/4 coupon. I think we should just try and see if it works out or not.

Anonymous said...

I used the $5/4 coupon at Kroger today and it went through, it just said my amount exceeded what the coupon could pay. Instead of making me go get another box of cereal, the cashier just put it through. She didn't have a problem with the Target logo. Maybe you should try it somewhere besides Walgreens if you're concerned about it. There are some super Kelloggs deals right now. I'm getting ready to make my shopping list to see how I can make this work for me. Does anyone know if the Wags healthy saver coupon book is still available and where? The one hip talks about with the Triaminic coupon. Thanks!

linda said...

I just need to vent at bit (uh oh, I know)
Every time I use coupons I get eye rolls or am part of scoffing between employees behind my back. A couple times I've asked why do cashiers not "care for" people who use coupons. More than once I've been told it's because of those who take advantage of the rules and the store. (granted, thats not a reason to forsake customer service but I can see their frustration)
Its true that some people are never satisfied. They're dishonest, they steal and cheat and then justify their actions.
Again, I know this blog isnt for this purpose, my apologies.
I wish those particular people would listen to their conscious and make sure they're at least trying to doing whats right all the time and be blessed by doing so.
It does affect all of us as frugalers and a society in general.
If those people wont realize their shame they need to know they will face a holy and just God who is righteous and at that point, I'm afraid it's too late. Doubt my words, just study the bible.
My prayer is that these people will own up to their actions and truly be blessed.

My Publix will always honor competitor coupons - from grocery stores, drugstores, or national chain stores, as long as they carry the item. My Wags and Target are not shopper friendly so I just skip them.

SaraJC said...

I got my Healthy Savings coupon booklet from the pharmacy. They gave me a couple. But that was a couple weeks ago though. The pharmacy was giving them out when they were giving the H1N1 vaccines. They had the H1N1 vaccines again a couple days ago at my wags. Who knows, they might still be giving some out. You might want to ask the pharmacist to see if they have any more.

Thanks SaraJC - I'll ask. I just started Wags and CVS shopping and I know I will never pass up another coupon book or throw away a coupon before it expires again. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I appreciate all your comments, they help a lot. Especially getting me past these Wags employees. Last week I filed a complaint b/c they were so rude and accused me of photocopying the Natrol coupon. I got an apology from the store manager. Anyway, this is great. So excited about RR and ECB's right now. Thanks!

Chicago Spartan said...

I had really cool cashiers at both Wags and CVS tonight. I went one more time to get the Complete eye care, as my Wags had the 2 for 1 shrinkwrapped packages that qualified for the RR, so 2 for free!! She told me her mom works at the one down the street and they both get all the deals too. Then at CVS, I was looking at vitamins and the mgr said the Natures Bounty were 2 for 1, starting tomorrow, but he already put them in the system if I wanted to get them. I thought that was so nice of him. It pays to be nice to people!

Lolo said...

At first I used to have trouble at some of my Wags stores with cashiers and managers alike. But now MOST of the stores have gotten to know me and know that I am bringing in the business... I do a LOT of rolling of RR's so I go quite often to about 5 different ones, so they are actually nice to me now.:) There are 2 stores where I still have a few problems and one store it is just at a certain time of the day so I try to just avoid it during the time I know the nasty cashiers are likely to be there. (After filing a complaint about the night manager at my 24 hr store, I now get great reception there :))The other store I mostly try to avoid, but like today I went there because all the stuff was gone from my other stores so in I went and they had tons so I got a ton and the one manager started getting uppity with me at first about all of my transactions (when she knows the other manager has told me it is ok) but then she just gave up and asked my original cashier to finish up as she was going to be leaving. (fine with me) so yeah for small victories! Just keep trying and if you get a really nasty cashier and/or manager, contact customer service. They DO respond!

Mary said...

I had to contact customer service last week. I had one really nice cashier who was letting me ring up my glade candles separate so I would get my RR's. Then I did a big transaction and used alot of them, and still got more. She had to call the manager because it would not take my last RR even though I had enough items. Anyways, when the manager came over the "team lead" came over too, never spoke to me, just stared at my envelope of coupons & RR's. So she finished that transaction and the "team lead" took over her register (it was the cosmetics). So I went to the front to do my last transaction. It was DEAD in there, if I am doing multiple, I ALWAYS offer to go in the end of the line. So I went up front and the cashier was ringing me up. I used coupons and a few RR's. It went through fine. The team lead called the cashier during my transaction (I could see her)at first the cashier wouldn't answer, she said "I am helping a customer" so the team lead got the security guard to tell her "its about the customer" so they proceeded to have a conversation about me before I paid. Then the cashier took everything out of the bag, examined it and my coupons. I paid and when my RR's from that transaction printed out, she refused to give them to me. She was told by the team lead that since I used RR's I can't get RR's. I immediatley asked for the manager. I was so mad. He gave them to me and I immediatley called corporate. I also got an apology the next day. Thank goodness I live in a big city and there are about 3 WAGS near my work and 3-4 near my home!

Meghan said...

All the coupons in the Walgreens Healthy Savings and Walgreens December Coupon book say Manufacturer coupon on them. The coloring book, Diabetes, and Healthy Savings coupons are not manufacturers coupons. It was a good ride while it lasted!

Mary said...

Yeah, I think they realized they needed to put manufacturer coupon on them!

Anonymous said...

You can get a good deal on Imperial Sugar @ Wags this week: In AD Coupon for $1.99, then get the printable from http://www.imperialsugar.com (located on bottom of page) equals $1.49 for sugar :-)

Sarah said...

Was anyone able to do the Roc deal? At both Walgreens I went to they were not part of the $5 off promotion. They were ringing up at $9.99 still. I was able to use the Kleenex coupons without any problems.

Lexicon said...

Haven't the monthly coupon books always said 'manufacturer coupon' in small print with the restrictions? And if the coupon can only be used in the store where you got it, regardless of if it's says man q or not, because it has the store logo, you should be able to stack them. I found out that the cosmetics lady at the Walgreens down the road from where I work is a couponer too and she was telling me this. . . not totally sure if its true but coming from an employee who also uses coupons I'm guessing there's some truth to it.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone been able to use the $5/4coupon with no problem?

Mary said...

I was wondering the same thing. There is a difference between a MFR Q that simply has a logo on it but still scans at other stores. The walgreens ones just say Man, but they certainly will not scan in other stores. I haven't tried to use any together yet.....

And I want to know if the $5 off 4 one works too....

Anonymous said...

My husband tried to use the $5/4 Kellogg's coupon at our Payless (Kroger) and after the cashier tried everything, they gave up. It kept coming up as invalid. I guess maybe I should take it to the customer service desk?

Meghan said...

I was able to use the Toblerone and Comtrex Walgreens "manufacturer" with real manufacturers coupons today. I brought this up because someone posted about soap and trying to use the $2 Walgreens "manufacturer" coupon and the $2 printable last week and she couldn't do it. At the end of my transaction, the cashier put those Walgreens coupons where all the Walgreens coupons go--the garbage.

Anyway, while I was there, it was rather slow for a Sunday afternoon, one of my favorite cashiers was there and he was talking to someone in charge and the beauty counter clerk. He was saying he tells people if there are coupons in the circular for the products they are buying, but doesn't always remember and doesn't always know that there is a coupon available. (Apparently a customer had gotten annoyed.) I was standing RIGHT in the area when the person in charge said their policy is NOT to tell people about coupons in the circular. Then she looked up and smiled. I just laughed (at her).

Anonymous said...

for Mel and others about the target coupons. i used the MANUFACTURE coupons from targets website at walmart. had no problems. the cashier was even excited. you can print coupons at target's website??. she said. and i said, yep. have fun!! and another thing. why would collin suggest using it if you couldn't. it isn't her style.

Mary said...

Well, as far as Collin goes, I don't believe she does every deal she posts... but I can't speak for her. My friend from Kansas texted me that she tried to use the $5/4 Kelloggs at a grocery chain in her area, it would not scan and the manager stated they could not take it. So it looks like Mel was right.

However, the kleenex ones from K-mart scan just fine at Walgreen's......

And that is so shady about them not helping customers out with the coupons. I have seen several cashiers stand there and look through the ad for a customer, which is what I think they should do.

Anonymous said...

HI. I just found out about this web site and it's great. Great job.
Quick question because I'm new at all of this. what does SS and RR stand for?

Thanks!

Mary said...

SS is smart source, one of the coupon inserts that comes in the paper and RR is register reward. For more info on RR I suggest you read the posts about Walgreen's on the right hand side, and watch Collin's video for Walgreen's in the follow me section!

Anonymous said...

Definitely read the Walgreens section before you start. I didn't read before I went the first time and totally messed up my order. I got a crash course in RR very fast. Came home, read the tutorial and realized I'd made every mistake in the book. If I'd only read about it first. Can't wait to try my luck at Wags tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will go well...

SaraJC said...

The wags I go to dont accept any coupons from other stores. Didnt want to argue about coupons so I set that aside. Oh well. Good thing I asked the manager first like I stated previously lol.

Anonymous said...

I was able to use my Kleenex coupons with no beeps. At the end, the manager came over and started reading the coupon and tried to tell the cashier it said redeemable at Kmart but she was concentrating on something else and didn't hear him. Also, my M&M premiums rang up for $1.09, used my $1.00 off coupon and got the
.50 RR. That was a pretty sweet deal!

Anonymous said...

Just a heads up on RR's - never let a cashier tell you "if you use RR's to pay for a transaction, that you dont' get any RR's (for RR qualifying items)." They may be pocketing the RR's since they are like cash. This is fraud on their part! Beware and let the manager know asap if a cashier tells you this!

Anonymous said...

The "All Laundry Detergent" Deal at Wags is not bad either... right now its 2/$7, use 2x 2$ off from the RP and pay $1.50 for each...(they are 1/$6.99 usually)

Andrea said...

Does anyone know if you can still get the healthy savings coupon booklet? I somehow missed this in the fall and there seems to be a deals this week using that booklet.

Mary said...

Ugh I had the worst experience at Walgreens again. I went back to the one that i had problems with last week, big mistake. The manager saw me in the aisle and recognized me. He then told me they were changing the policy, but couldn't produce it in writing. He told me that they are no longer going to give you RR's if you paid with RR's and that you could not use more that 4 or five. I said fine cause I knew this probably wasn't true and proceeded to check out. I had Milk, two chex-mixes, two orange juices, two pert shampoo's, 4 X-mas bags and 2 tea lights. While I was waiting in line the manager called the cashier and told him not to take more than four RR's. I asked him if he called to tell him about me. At first he denied it and said no, but then admitted yes. I told the cashier to call the manager up there because he had just said 4 or 5, and I wanted to use 5 RR's. He came up and said, no, I meant 4. I told him he was rude for calling the cashier while I was waiting in line. Then he told me I could only use 4 COUPONS, total. I asked for it in writing, he said he didn't have it but this was a nationwide policy change. I told him to void out my transaction, I got my milk and two tea lights and paid .12! I then proceeded to call corporate right away and she said she was not aware of any policy change but would have someone else in corporate call me.!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Thats crazy! I cant believe they did that to you.

Jen said...

I can't get the ROC Q, either. I just get a massive error message when I click on "submit".

Barb said...

My Walgreens's will not accept any manufacturers coupons with another store's logo, even though it says manufacturers coupon. Additionally, the computers no longer allow you to use 2 coupons on a bogo deal because, I've been told, I'm getting the item for free. Also, the stores in MI are not doing the 4-day sale, at least the 2 that I went to. I'm ready to give up on Walgreens.

Walgreens has some zooth Marvel toothbrushes on clearance for 2.12, using the walgreens coloring book coupon, you can buy 5 toothbrushes for 10.60, the walgreens coupon will deduct $5, then use $5 coupons oral b stages or zooth toothbrushes (? which week coupon), final cost .60 and then get a $5 register reward.

Great xmas presents for kids. or stocking stuffers.
