My Walgreens Deals for the week of 2/22!

I had so much fun shopping at Walgreens yesterday. One of my favorite cosmetics cashiers was working (the one who gave me tons of free samples and coupons)! It was also really uncrowded, so she let me do multiple transactions. I ended up rolling the Register Rewards from the Nature Valley and Gillette deal back and forth and then using the leftover Register Rewards from the Gillette deal to pay for all of my other products.

One new Clearance deal I want to mention:
Axe Dry Action Deodorant was on clearance for $2.19
Axe Bullet (4 Pack) Deodorant Body Sprays were on clearance for $2.69

I purchased three Deodorants $2.19 each=$6.57
One Body spray (4 pack) $2.69
Total=$9.26
Plus I snagged 2 FREE movie tickets! Great deal!
Check out all the details on the Axe Movie ticket promo here.

I was also happy to snag four One A Day Vitamins for ONLY .99-$1.49 each! Stock up on these while you can. I am tempted to go back and buy a couple more! Don't forget to snag some Sally Hansen Lip gloss and Reynolds wrap too!

Woo-hoo ~ great deals. Way to go!!!

I am curious, my cashier told me I couldn't use the registar rewards to pay, if I was expecting to get my registar rewards with that transaction. Is that correct? or is it a YMMV thing?!

You can use Register Rewards to pay for a new deal and get new Register Rewards. However, the deal will NOT work if you are paying with the same Register Rewards you will be getting. For example you can not buy Excedrin and then use the RR from the deal to get a new RR, BUT you can use the Excedrin RR to pay for the Gillette RR deal and you will receive the $6RR from the Gillette deal. Hope that makes sense.

Also Walgreens cashiers are not very educated when it comes to their coupon policies and Register Reward promotions, so don't listen to them. Most of the time they honestly don't know what there talking about!

What did you do to get so many Reynolds wrap tin foil? How many coupons did you have for that? It would be helpful to me, a beginner to see a picture of the whole receipt or to know how you get so much for so little.

I also got the reynolds wrap! However I had to educate the cashier. She told me I could only use 1 coupon because it was fr more than the actual product. I told her to scan the mfc coupon first then the in ad coupon, she told me it wouldn't work and that it was cancel itself out. I asked her to please try and voila! .10 due. I felt so impowered!

I tried the Reynolds wrap but my cashier said she couldn't take the $1 manuf. coupon since it was more that the Walgreens $.89 coupon. I told her it had been done before and she said that's because the other cashiers weren't paying attention and that she is held accountable if that happens on her register since they go through the coupons at the end of the night. Now I'm frustrated. She said she could charge me full price (which was $1.69) then would give me the $1.00 off making it $.69. Still better than the $.89 coupon but I wanted it FREE! Any suggestions?

The Reynolds Wrap coupon I got out of the 2/8 SmartSource Insert. I usually get about 6-10 newspapers a week depending upon how good the coupon inserts are.

The reason I'm able to bring my total down so low is from Walgreens coupons, using manuf. coupons on top of those and rolling Register Rewards from one deal to another. I also used a lot of $6 Gillette RR's to get my total down to just a few dollars.

When you purchase the Reynolds Wrap just make sure you have other items in your order. That way the coupon will not get scrutinized as much. Also mix the coupons up, so you aren't handing over the $1 coupon and the .89 in ad coupon together.

Other then that it's pretty much the luck of the draw. I also find that cosmetics cashiers are way more coupon friendly too.

Last week I purchased the Gillette razors and since I paid at the cosmetic counter I didn't get my $6 RR and the cashier told me the promo had ended. But when I was there yesterday I saw that the promo is still on and when I purchased another razor I got the $6. Should I try and get my other $6 RR?

Yes, call catalina with your receipt in hand (1-888-8coupon). Let them know what happened and what you purchased. They should be able to send you a Register Reward in the mail. It will take a couple weeks to arrive, but it's worth doing.

I have a ? on the granola bars...the coupon says, "One Box" will that work on the "small 2-count packs"?

Also, I see the photo you have says '4' in the box... is that mean 2 in each wrapper & 2 of those in a box? Thanks

Hip2Save said...

Sorry for the confusion.
You're correct, though, I meant the small 2-pk boxes (with 4 total bars in the pack). You can find them in the candy section and they do produce the RR!:)

Oh and yes the .50 coupon works fine on the small boxes and scans with no beeps!:)

So today was an i hate Walgreens day. They would not let me use the buy one get one free coupon for the hersheys along with their in ad coupon. Maybe you can help me, you listed Dial soap as buy one get one free...couldn't find it. Also the 6 dollars back in ad coupon for multi vitamins...not in the ad. Ahh. I have NEVER ONCE had the experience you get! You are so great and I use your tips and wedsite daily. So today was just a very frustrating day...any tips to make it easier?

The Axe movie ticket deal is good through 2/28.

My biggest tip is to be very organized when you go in the store. Have your coupons organized and ready to go, even put them in the order you want them to be in when you hand them to the cashier. Make sure you have a "filler" item (for your coupon to item ratio), if you need one.

My next big tip with the Hershey's coupons is to mix them up with your coupons. Don't hand over the Manuf. Hershey's coupon and then the Walgreen's coupon together. The coupons may be scrutized a bit more by the cashier if you do that.

For the One A Day coupon always look at your ad online first. If it doesn't show up in your ad (mine was on the second to last page), then you can type up another zip code online. For instance you can type in my zip code 28546 and print off the coupon online and bring it into the store. I have done this numerous times and the coupons scan fine.

Finally just be strong!:) There are so many people that want to get us couponers down, DON'T let them! Just stick with it and you may even find a really coupon friendly cashier and that will make all the difference!

I went to my walgreens yesterday and they told me if I use a coupon ($4 off fusion razor) it will not print my RR, they said they are no longer allowing you to get moneymakers has anyone else had this problem?

Hip2Save said...

Whoever you spoke with is not correct! A lot of times store employees like to make up there own rules. If you had tried to purchase the Fusion Gamer Razor with the $4 coupon the RR would have printed. I just did the deal yesterday.

I did try and purchase and nothing printed out. When I asked why it didn't print that is the excuse they told me. I've seen on other blogs, other people have had this problem as well.

Jenna,

Just to clarify, you purchased the Fusion Gamer Razor? The reason I'm asking is because the other Gillette fusion Razors do not qualify for the Register Reward promotion.

If you did purchase the Gamer, though, call catalina (1-888-8COUPON) with your receipt in hand and explain to them what you purchased. They will end up sending you a Register Reward in the mail. It usually takes a few weeks to arrive, but its worth the wait.
