I can't believe how much FREE entertainment there is this summer!
It's great!
To add to all the fabulous freebies, Apple stores are offering up "Apple Camp" for kids ages 8-12! Your kids will have the opportunity to make a movie, create a photo slide show, write and record a song, put on a show for everyone, and more! At Apple Camp, kids learn how to do cool stuff on a Mac and discover their hidden talents along the way.
Apple Camp is available at EVERY Apple Retail Store, and each FREE workshop lasts three hours. Go on over here to find an Apple store near you and sign your kiddos up!
Other Summer Freebies:
Regal Entertainment: FREE Family Film Festival
FREE Bowling for Kids all summer long
Bank of America: FREE Admission to over 70 museums

Such a cool freebie. Wish I'd know sooner. All our area Tampa camps are totally full :( Maybe next summer!
Public libraries always have wonderful summer reading programs. Our county library system has free puppet shows, magic, juggling shows, reptile shows, etc. throughout the summer as part of the summer reading program. And after your child completes the reading goal, there are always a bag full of freebies, including a free book. Last year, each of my kids got coupons for free pizza, mcdonalds, a free professional basketball game, coupons for free icecream, etc. I couldn't believe the amount of really nice and generous prizes that all the children recieved.
And, the federal free lunch program offers free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 years and under. It is offered throughout the summer at many parks and schools. There are no forms to fill out, and it is not just for low income families. Last summer I talked with the director at the school we went to for free lunch, and she encouraged me to bring all my friends. She said the more kids that come, the more likely they are to continue the program in the future. My preschool kids love going to the "big" school and getting their own tray and selecting the food they want to eat. They always have an entree and a very nice fruit and salad bar. Also, at many sites, the Rec. mobile or other groups provide free activites (crafts, games, sports, etc.) at the same location. So, after we ate, my kids would do a craft, or play outdoor games, etc. with the activity leaders. It was a great way to spend a couple hours! The best part... I don't have to prepare and clean up lunch at the house! And my kids actually eat the food!
Already full! :o( This would've been awesome for my son! He's really into computers!
