The coupon states on it "Limit one coupon per household" and the second prints with the exact barcode, so it should only be used one time.

Walgreens takes multiples of the same coupon, as well as, CVS.

I got this gum free last time with the coupon link, and it is NASTY. I have to spit it out within like 30 seconds. Maybe someone else liked it, but it's not worth printing for me.

This gum tastes like you made cough syrup into gum. yucky

Anonymous said...

I like the flavors... and will buy it again

Same bar code??

I don't eat gum, nor does my hubby and we ban it from our kids.

It has to be the nastiest thing people put into their mouths. Should I say, the gum isn't the problem, the lack of class in people is. I mean - when I see and hear people smacking their gum, smack smack smack pop ssmack grosss - to many people have no self respect.
But, I do buy in some cases gum to give to others - people I know who don't show others what is in their mouths being chewed up.
But, honestly most of the people in my fmaily and my hubby's side, do not chew gum anyways.

Tanya said...

My kids and I liked it. Thanks for the deal and the option to buy gum if we so choose :0)

The Trident site let me print 5 coupons and on the 6th, it spit out a blank one that stated I had exceeded the household limit. Seems to me that if they expected you to only use one coupon that is all it would have let you print.

Are the couponc still available?

Anonymous said...

I don't mean to be rude but the comment section should be for comments relating to this post. If you don't like gum, ignore the post and move on.

Anonymous said...

I agree. Nobody cares who chews gum...like you said...ignore the deal. Geesh people.

Actually Collin posted awhile back that it was helpful for people to say what they thought to help others whom had not tried the product. I will post whatever I want. If Collin thinks it is inappropriate then she would remove it. You ladies must be SAHM's and have all the time in the world. I have to work and don't have all the time in the world to sit around and ruminate.

Anonymous said...

So who's raising your children while you work?

Anonymous said...

Just because some people are SAHMs, doesn't mean they have all the time in the world. They are raising their kids and that takes a lot of time. I'm a working mom and respect SAHMs.

Carly said...

The rude person should get back to work then!

Anonymous said...

OMG I cannot believe how people act! This is crazy. Honestly I am glad to have the coupons and my opinion is the gum was not too great, but got it free to try the first time due to a coupon. I appreciate other's comments (EX: Swiffer Wet Jet -- decided to save my money)! Cannot believe the non-issues people get worked up over. Who care if someone is a stay-at-home mom or not -- WHAT IN THE WORLD DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH COUPONS!!!! I choose to work and other choose not to. We all manage to raise our kids the way we see fit. LOL!!!

Anonymous said...

Well if I did not work we would be struggling. I would love to stay home but am unable. I feel like SAHM's do have a lot of time. If you say they do not you are wrong.

Sarah said...

Ok, an opinion on the product the coupon is for, helpful to some.
A commentary on why all gum is disgusting and people who chew it are disgusting, not at all helpful or relevant to this website and the hard work Colin puts into it.
As far as the SAHM argument, these attacks are NOT helpful to ANYONE and have been debated ad nauseum but for the record....
I work because we couldn't pay for our house or our medical bills if I didn't. I'm currently on maternity leave with my third baby and loving every minute of it but have to tell you being a stay at home mom is 5000 times more difficult than my job in corporate America. I'm sure there are some SAHM's that "slack" if you will, just like there are people in my office who "slack" looking at the internet, standing around the copier chit chatting.
The majority of us mom's are working hard, trying to do the best we can. Give respect and give the mommy slamming a rest.
Sorry to hijack your comments Colin. As usual, you provide an invaluable service and I can't thank you enough for the work you do to help all of us!!!
Sarah

Tanya said...

I say Congrats to all parents who can scrimp and save and afford to stay at home with their own children.

It's tough BOTH ways, let's leave it at that!

Anonymous said...

I totally agree with you Sarah. Very intelligent commentary. BTW the person who hates gum is a moron and who cares I don't want to hear your manifesto!!!

Mom Who Cares said...

YOu know I have to agree with one thing - I have become a SAHM and with my little extra time I do have I do couponing and save more money than if I go to work. I do not pay childcare, I raise my children, I do not pay gas to commute and so on so forth.

So, the money I save from Collins site and other coupon help sites, I calculated to be more income than a standard job mkaing $12.00 an hour after all the expenses of childcare etc... So, whoo hooo to all of us couponers - including working moms. I know it is hard for me not to work - I love working, so I am starting my own at home /online business and am almost ready to go. :)

Being a working mom and a SAHM working or non-working mom all have one thing in common. We all have children we are taking care of, and since we are all here on this board right now, we all have the love of saving money for our family to have just a little bit more in common too.

Anonymous said...

I am so thankful for the last few positive comments. I too am a SAHM while my husband works very hard with his two jobs. He can make way more than me but it makes it so I am pretty much doing EVERYTHING! I respect both the moms that work and the moms that stay home. Both jobs are HARD and we should all be patting each other on the back not tearing each other down. We ALL work hard and we ALL deserve respect!

From one gum snapper to another--Thanks for the link! ; )

Mom Who Cares said...

absolutly Anony: 10:53 - I forgot to give my hubby credit - he works hard and does make more than I can - and he makes it possible for me to be a SAHM and totally supports my wanting to still run a business at home for a little extra income and my own personal satisfaction!

Thanks HUBBY!
Thanks Collin for your site - I have also gotten a lot of help saving enough money to start starting my own business and I found a few tips that have helped me buy products less than wholesale prices for small businesses to apply to my business for better profits!! Yeah!

OMG- I freaking LOVE the internet! Only online could a gum coupon turn into the mommy wars!

Anonymous said...

Okay then.............

Thanks for the gum coupon! Can't wait to try it out for myself! :) LOVE this site!

Throws gum in the angry ones hair.. 2 snaps and a twist

Anonymous said...

HAHA I absolutely love how this turned into such a festival of comments. I think everyone should be allowed to have their opinion however I will say that respect for others is always important. If you do not walk in someone's shoes do not judge them. If we take a moment to reach out to others the world would be a better place. Judgements won't get us any where. Thank you to this blog for posting GREAT deals we can all use. Thank you to those of you who post helpful comments as I have learned a lot from it.

Totally a gum snapper over here (not on purpose) and I hate when other people do it! Such a contridiction in terms. :)

Chrystal Murphy said...

Very entertaining for this SAHM who has TONS of time to just sit around and do nothing. :) AHAHAHAHA

In truth I worked in corporate world for about 7 years before deciding to stay home. And, both are tough but for me the mommy thing is way more difficult/demanding. It was amusing to read all the negative comments going back and forth. We're all in the same boat in one way or another - cut everyone some slack.

Colin - thank you for all the work you do to find these deals and share them with us!

OMG Behave! We are all grown ups. Thanks for the tip on the gum even if it is nasty. It's free and isn't that what we all want free stuff. SAHM with tons of time on her hands. hehehehe (couldn't help myself)

Anonymous said...

Just go tweet about it, we all know the world is a better place now that there is an argument about "FREE" gum. Extremely humerous!

Anonymous said...

I just want the $0.50 Money maker. What are all of you complaining about????

Anonymous said...

Okay, who's gum did I just step in?!?!

jenn said...

Let's All stop having babies and chewing nasty taste gum!

That will definitely solve the problem! lol

Alicia said...

I LOVE this, thanks Collin!!!

I don't moderate comments on my blog either, but I don't think my reader like to comment in such a ways as yours!

I don't like gum, cause I don't like chewy stuff. But do you care? Nope!

I am now a WAHM, but I was in the corporate world as a CPA for a Fortune 500 company for quite a long time, which is probably an even more difficult job than the poster that thinks a being a SAHM is easier. It's a lot harder to be a WAHM.

Your SAHMs seem to have much shorter comments, too. Think that signifies less time to post than while on company time?

Great work, thanks for the laugh!

I will log in to post, as all of the 'Anonymous' becomes quite confusing.

KIDS ruin everything

The Hansen Family said...

I have always found that the rudest, most inappropriate comments come from "Anonymous" commenters. Coincidence?

I just couldn't resist a comment. For the person telling us SAHMs that we have all the time in the world and if we say otherwise, we are lying.. How do you know this? Have you been a SAHM? I have never had to work after having kids, thanks to a tight budget, coupons, sites like this and most importantly, my hard-working husband. I would never pretend to be an expert on what it must be like for someone who works as well as raising children.

Loving that all this stemmed from a gum coupon.. :)

Anonymous said...

I'm a SAH GRAN.you can all laugh but I can't even get a coupon to print.

Unknown said...

Good golly.....I don't have time for this nonsense....I have to go raid CVS's 90% off school supplies!!! This is giving me a good laugh though!!

GC said...

Oh my!!! I have to laugh, this is ridiculous!!! :0 Some of these comments!!!!! People claiming stay at home moms have time to sit around doing nothing else to do but sit around on the computer- THAT IS COMPLETELY not true. Being a mother is an important job - it is a woman's true calling. It is a mother's job to raise up her children.

Someone else said the children ruin everything. Yikes! We were all children once, and they are a blessing from the Lord.

Kate said...

Hilarious! But sad.

I got this gum with the last link and my whole family loves it! I am happy to get more! =)

Wow... Real Housewives of Couponing.

Anonymous said...

Okay, now I've got 2 get in on this. Too Funny! I'm a SAHM of 4 and am soooo busy, that I barely have time to breathe. It probably doesn't help that I'm so nuts that I homeschool too. I do have a part-time job outside of my home. I like to go to work to have a break. It is so much easier-for me. For anyone and everybody else, to each their own. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. It wouldn't be fun if everyone was the exact same, now would it? I'll even sign my name- Melissa:)
Collin- Thank you so much for letting us get the good deals and have some laughs at the same time. Keep up the good work!

Wow, just Wow!

Thanks for the coupon link.

I have been reading all the comments and laughing so hard. All of this over a gum coupon? Really? This is so silly. Who cares if you have a paying job or are a SAHM. We are all mothers and I'm sure we could find something better then gum to argue about. I am a SAHM simply because we can't afford daycare and as soon as our 3yr old is in school I will gladly go back to work. But this was a good laugh. Thanks.

Anonymous said...

Unbelievable yet hilarious! Thanks for the mini-sitcom and posting the coupon.

Hey...does this gum strengthen teeth? OH! I'm sorry! I must of walked into a heated discussion..please continue....my bad...

All moms...at home..working outside the home..working in home...from another planet..we all put the support hose on the same foot every morning. Some just need more support then others..like me..living large...yup...Love all you gal's fo sho!

AND we ALL have Collin to thank no matter what out income is for all the time she puts in and all the savings she gets us! I'm so ready for the weekend of shoppin'!!

Anonymous said...

While you all have been solving the major problems of the world, I have been cleaning every pack of Trident off of your local Walgreen's shelves...Thank you for your perfect distraction from the main point that allowed me to obtain thousands of packs of gum that I make money on. Talk about employment! LOL

Ida said...

wow, over gum really? you think gum is groser than cigarettes? atleast I have never smelled the gum of the driver ahead of me at the red light seaping through the AC.

Collin, Thanks for the coupon, thanks for posting stuff that you think other people might want even if you are not interested yourself.
I have spend very little money on dog food for example since I started reading your blog 9 months ago and I can not begin to express how gratefull i am for all the footwork you do for me in finding the all the many deals, especially since my husband lost his job this summer, we have 4 kids and we are both students and it is hard to find a job that works with his school schedule. Since he is better qualified and I have been at home for 6 years now It makes more sence for him to work while I stay homebased. This semester I take classes only online so I only have to go on campus for tests. In addition I watch children for other students to help with the income, I do delivery for meals on weels because it is one of the few things that I can do to pay it forward at the moment because I can take the kids with me. They love to help hand over the food.
I'm so happy that my friend refered me to your blog when I asked her how she knew so much about saving money and I hope that you get some kind of compensation from the adds on the blog, because I love this site and I thuink you deserve to get payed for all your hard work.
bla bla bla ok i'm done.

conversations like this are why I normally avoid the comments sections on here, but after Collin's post today I had to come and check it out.

I'm always offended when someone spouts off the "woman's true calling" line. It's a crock. A woman's "true purpose" is whatever she finds fulfilling and brings her the most joy in life. For me, that's a much different description that most women on here.

Not every woman thinks that the be all and end all of life is popping out mini-me's. My partner and I decided that the most responsible thing we could do in life is to NOT have children. I have no desire to spend the next 22 years of my life caring for a munchkin, and planet doesn't need anyone else using what resources we have left.

You choose to have children. Children cost a lot of money to raise. Deal with your choice and move on.

Tressa Card said...

WOW...I think kids are a little more than a suck on our resources!!!! And whether we work or stay home with our kids I'm sure most of us would agree that we are not DEALING with our choice to have our children. That just sounds cold and heartless. I don't judge you for deciding not to have children so DON't judge me for desiring to have an amazing relationship with children of my own. Those of us that have decided to have children are just trying to love them and find frugal way to provide for their needs. Collin you ROCK!!!! I love the blog and I'm excited to try out the gum and get the other great deals at Walgreens.

I found BOGO coupies for these on a peel off tab at fred meyer. They are right by the gum in a stand up thing with the gum in it.
I am in Washington.

Andrea said...

Wow! We wonder why the world is constantly at war with one another when fights break out over gum. ROFLMAO!!If we can just learn to accept others "faults" and all.

Back to the post: I like this gum. It is sour to start off with then gets sweet. It is worth trying for free!!

GC said...

Someone mentioned about being offended because I mentioned a "woman's true calling". A woman does not have to get married, but if she does do so, she is called to be a keeper at home. I understand there are different circumstances, and we need to go to God for guidance in our situation, but the Bible says,

Titus 2:4,5 "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands ..."

The Bible is the perfect, inerrant word of God, therefore whatever it has to say on a matter is the complete truth.

Anonymous said...

All I know is I gotta' go get some of this gum! Pretty powerful stuff... look at the conversations it's sparked! Wonder if it could also cure AIDS or bring about world peace (or, from the looks of the discussion, WWIII)??!?? LOL Pretty intriguing gum....

Anonymous said...

LOL!!

I am a SAHM. Whether you're a working mom, or SAHM, being a mom is the hardest job and most underpaid job ever. You have to be a mommy, a doctor, a teacher, a driver, a secretary, a cook, a maid, a plumber (when things get flushed that aren't supposed to get flushed), etc. But this is the most rewarding job ever. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it makes me angry when people judge others, when they don't even know the HALF of what that person is going through.

Anon Fri 9:47 - you said that "SAHM's must have all the time in world. I have to work and have no time..." So get back to work and stop posting non-sense! A little bit hypocritical, no?

janarie8 said...

Hi: This is way better than any sitcom I've watched recently, I LOVE IT. Thanks so much for this blog and the freedom to have fun, Blessings JANARIE8

Kate said...

Just wanted to say this was a HILARIOUS discussion....haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Definitely could be a SNL skit! Anyways....tried the gum and smacked it loudly everywhere I went with my mouth open (joking) and it was GREAT!!!

Rachel said...

ha ha, wow. This got pretty crazy. Personally I like the gum. But even more so, I like the fact that it's a money maker. I've bought worse stuff for less in overage. But there's always someone who can use it, and even if I don't particularly like something I know I can give it to someone else.
And, as a former working mom, and now a SAHM, I've got to say that it was easier when I was working 60 hr weeks. And I'll say here what I say to everyone else who asks me what I do with all my free time (since I sit on the couch and watch soaps all day, lol): imagine everything you do in a given day and imagine it taking 3 times a long to finish. And yes, that includes going to the bathroom. That's where all my "free time" goes! lol
