Target: Kellogg's Cereal Deal Update, Bissel Cleaner Deal & Halloween Clearance Finds!

I just wanted to give you all an update on the Target cereal deal I posted previously. I also wanted to let you know about a sweet deal available on Bissel Cleaners and Halloween clearance Oreo cookies and Marshmallows!

First--cereal deal:

As you know, select Kellogg's cereal is on sale buy 3 get 1 FREE! I went to score this deal today and a few things went wrong. Lots of the participating buy 3 get 1 free cereals are priced higher then the advertised sale price of $2.66 (a few boxes are actually lower). Also, you won't be able to use 4 $1/1 Target coupons. The 4th Target coupon will beep and state that you can't use a coupon on a free box. I just wanted to give you all a heads up, so you don't screw up royally like I did!;)

Here's the deal scenario I ended up doing:
1 Kellogg's Special K Blueberry cereals $3.14
2 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats $2.66 each=$5.32
1 Box of Rice Krispies $2.54 (FREE cereal)
Total=$8.46
Coupons:
$1/1 Special K Blueberries coupon from here
$1.50/2 Frosted Mini Wheats coupon from here
$0.75/1 Rice Krispies coupon from here
Plus, I used 3 $1/1 Target coupons
Final cost $2.21--just $0.55 per box!
**************************************

Now on to the Bissel Cleaner deal:

The Bissel ProHeat 2X Upright Deep Cleaner is on sale at Target this week for $199! Plus, when you purchase one you'll get a $25 Target gift card... AND on top of that Bissel is offering up a $30 Rebate! Check out all the details on this rebate offer here. Final cost after the gift card and rebate--ONLY $144! This is priced at $194.92 on Walmart.com, so this Target deal definitely seems like a great one! (Thanks, Gina!)

And Finally the Halloween Oreo & Marshmallow Deals:

Buy 2 Halloween Oreos on clearnance for $1.50
Use the $1/2 Nabisco coupon from the
Nabisco Savings booklet
Plus, use the $1/2 Target coupon
Final cost $0.50 per package!

(Thanks, CouponersUnited!)

Kraft Halloween marshmallows on clearance for $0.52
Use the $1/2 Target coupon
Final cost $0.02 per bag!
(Thanks, SouthFloridaSavings!)

I'd love to hear what other post-holiday bargains you're able to score!

I got the Halloween Mr Potato Head. On clearance for $3.49 used the $2.00 coupon so only paid $1.49! Great deal but there was only one left at our store, and no Halloween Oreos (which is probably a good thing in the long run!)

At Target, are they picky when it comes to the cereal variety? When I shop at Jewel (chained grocery store by me) pretty much any Kelloggs cereal coupon will work for any cereal. IE: If it says good for Corn Flakes only, it will work for mini wheats too. Is Target like that? I never purchased much food from them.

Better luck than I had this morning. The cashier wouldn't even try and ring up my coupons she said I had 8 coupons and only four boxes. After going circles with her and the manager they refused to even try and scan my coupons saying I can't have more coupons than items. Ugh so frustrating. Then she tried to tell me I couldn't use my $5 luvs coupon, cause she's never seen a coupon that high!

I had pretty good luck at Target this morning (and a nice, friendly cashier which always makes things better)! I got 1 box of Special K Blueberry, 2 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats, a box of Crispex, and a box of Rice Krispies. Was able to use all the manufacturers coupons plus 4 target couupons, even though these target coupons do say "limit of 1 per transaction". So all 5 boxes came to $4.

All Halloween stuff was 50% off when I went this afternoon.

i too got the last mr. potato head, no issues with any coupons..got there at like 8:05am, just when they opened..though i was a little shocked at people hoarding all the clearance halloween items, i've never seen people do this..they filled up their carts and then went to the scanners to figure out what they wanted and just left everything they didnt want in the endcaps by the scanner...

i went to 2 Targets today..and the 2nd one i went too only had a few things 50% off, most Halloween was only 30% off, i found this very odd...

Whew, I got lucky! My cashier shoved mine through. I kinda feel guilty now though...

Bill, At my Target, I've used Kelloggs coupons that give a specific cereal (ex: Corn Flakes) only but on a different cereal (ex: mini wheats) and they have always gone through w/o problems. These are Manuf. coupons. and the code must just recognize that it is a Kelloggs's Brand. I suppose that if your cashier looks to make sure before scanning, they can be rejected, but I always have so many coupons, they try to hurry and push me through.

The Carlsens said...

So I need to hand over the Manufacture coupon first then the Target store coupon right? Also, do you just hand a wad of coupons at the end or do you give the coupons after they scan that particular item? I'm going to Target tomorrow and I'm scared. I've done it once before but the ALL coupon for the free travel size kept beeping and it wouldn't take.

I did the ddeal today along with the light bulb and baby wipes. Allw ent well the cashier had neevr seen the printable target ones before but did them anyway ( after he asked someone just to check. I used any 4 of the kellogs manufacturers coupons even though they definately did not match up with the items and they went through fine. The cashier was unable to price adjust the light bulb so I think he just pushed it through ( this gave me 70 cents overage and made the wipes free)anyway he scanned the target coupon 4 times and the last one did not go through like eevryone said. my total came out to 2.85 as I walked out and looked at my reciept the target coupon only rang up once not even 3 times. so I went to customer service and she was amazingly helpful ( way too young!) and she gave me 3 dollars instead of just 2.85 she almost gave me 4 but I felt bad and showed her how a target had already been used.

I have a coupon question?? If you have a coupon that says buy 3 lip balms get a free lotion (Nivea). Can you use a coupon on the 3 lip balms? Me and my girlfriend are torn. Any help would be great.

Kara

every store is different on taking coupons when you get a free item...even tough the lip balm is not a free item, you may have an issue, but it never hurts to try.

My $1 off Target store coupons would not scan so the friendly cashier went ahead and took all 4 off manually, so it was FREE! I also got two of the AirWick iMotion's for $1.99 each after $4 coupon. Pretty good cheap transaction!!

My Target coupons never scan, so they have to manually enter them. I got 12 boxes of cereal, mostly to donate. I used Kellogg's MFG q's and 12 Target Q's (not knowing the policy) and had $1.05 in overage that ended up causing my CFL bulbs to be $.12....yay!

I went to Target to get the glade deal tonight....The cashier wouldn't let half my coupons go through...she said that I couldn't use a coupon on a deal with a gift card. Then she let one go through right after that...I said "well then how come that one went through fine" and she basically said I don't know what to tell you...she handed me back 2 coupons that didn't go through...when I got to the car I realized that all my buy one get refill free coupons weren't on there but she didn't even give them back to me so she stole my freakin coupons...it was a horrible experience. I don't want to even go back..Does anyone know if the sc johnson $5 rebate will accept photocopies of the reciept. It says that you can hand in 3 per household but the have to be mailed in seperately. All 3 of mine are on the same reciept.

I don't think it is ethical to use a coupon for something other than is stated on the coupon. You shouldn't use a coupon for Corn Flakes on anything but Corn Flakes. If everyone starts to use coupons for purposes other than intended it will ruin it for the rest of us who try to play by the rules.

Don't forget the candy coupons when you go! I took all the candy coupons they have on the target website with me today and got some great deals on candy. The milk chocolate and peanut MnMs were on sale for 1.49 but take another $1/2 and that made them .99/each. Also, they have $1/2 coupons for the fun size MnMs and at my store the peanut ones had .50/1 manuf. peelies on them. Stack the two to make them .49/each. I also got the 50ct. Mars fun size candy bars--on clearance for 3.49, use the $1/1 to make them 2.49/each.

Well, i haven't made it to Target yet but i did pretty good at the grocery store. I got two bags of Nestle crunch for .49 cents each and two bags of Wonka for .14 cents each. Then i got the B1G1 Steamfresh meals and got two of them for 6.49. I plan to get to Target maybe tomorrow. I have my coupons all ready!

I know it's frustrating to have a Target/Wal-Mart/Walgreens nightmare, but don't give up! Don't let a cashier who is part of the coupon police keep you from saving money. Just try again, and like Collin ALWAYS says, take a copy of their coupon policy with you. Keep going until you find a good cashier! It can be done. Just chalk it up to experience. DON'T GIVE UP....YOU CAN DO THIS, AND (for me, anyway) IT IS WORTH IT! Hang in there!

I had a good trip at Target today. Had a boy cashier and even though my Target cereal coupons wouldn't scan, he manually entered them all in. Also found a Pantene conditioner with a bonus 6.8 oz (I think?) bottle attached to it and then for the free styling product, I found a bonus 2 pack of spray gel that rang up free. They also had Herbal Essence styling products with bonus travel sized products attached to them. Used my b1g1f coupon to get 2 full sized products with 2 travel sized products attached to it.

I was able to get the cereal deal in bend OR, but in my case the blueberry special k were $3.29, the Frosted mini wheats were $3.14 so instead I bought 2 Raisin Bran for $2.66 and last but not least I bought the Rice Krispies for $2.54. After coupons $3.34. Although the cereal was a little higher at my target I think I still got a good deal. I did have a bad experience though. I found the small trial size Febreeze Fabric Refreshers for $0.98 yesterday I used a $1.00 off coupon that expired yesterday 10/31/09 and got it free and noticed that todays newspaper coupons has a $2 off 2 Febreeze Fabric Refreshers and does not state any sizes. So I went to Target today and tried to use it but it beeped. hmmmmmmm they didnt let me use it because the bottle does not look like the one on the coupon. bogus!

Target went smooth for me today. I managed to get 4 boxes of Special K cereals for about $8.50 after Q's, one last Mr. Potato Head, nine bags of candy - most .49 after Q's, Halloween pixos 1/2off, etc.

Go back to your Target and try again. If they give you a hard time, then simply walk them over to the registry computers they have in the store and on the main page look for store coupon policy link. Click it and it clearly states you can use 1 of each coupon on 1 item. Now as far as the Huggies coupon, just go to a young boy. :)

Hey Everyone... Ijust wanted to pass this along...I posted earlier it on The Frugal Find...

If you take this weeks target ad (11/01 - 11/07) with you to the checkout line, you have proof that you can use one manufacturer coupon and one target coupon per item.

Its printed at the top of the last inside page and it says ” Our Low Price Promise..to help you save in every way possible, we accept manufacturers coupons.*” Then in smaller writing beneath it, it says * We happily accept one manufacturer’s coupon and one Target coupon per item.

I’m taking this with me every time I go to target!!!

Having less trouble, I now know which two cashiers to steer clear of at my T. Just by making casual conversation it helps that the cashiers know that I'm not hoarding lots of freebees, but that I donate much of it. It also helps to carefully match your coupons and items and check dates - that way they don't think you're trying to pull one over on them. Everyone likes that good feeling you get when you help others.

I ASK the cashier before using a cereal coupon that is different than the stated cereal EX: Cornflakes coupon but purchased MiniWheat. The cashiers, everytime, have said it is collected from manufacturer just because it says Kellogg and NOT the kind. Hope that helps.

I scored the nestle bags of candy at Wal-mart for just .25 a bag with the $1.00 off coupon, the halloween candy was 50% off. Like I really need some more candy! HA!

I am not trying to be snarky, but when you use a Kellogg's coupon for an item different than the one it's supposed to be for, aren't you getting a different price off than you are supposed to be? I see that some coupons are 75 cents off and some are a dollar off a box. Aren't you using a dollar off coupon for a box that has a 75 cents off coupon? My Target would NEVER let me do that.

Anonymous said...

Yes, thank you for posting that! After I read this, I printed off all the coupons and went to Target. Luckily, I had a really nice guy ringing up my groceries, and he tried 2 or 3 times to use the coupon before giving it back to me.

I'm confused why some targets will let you use all the coupons, and some won't like people have said below? I have never had a problem using more than 1 Target coupon on items!

Thanks for the update!

Keep in mind too that on the end cap of every check out aisle are signs that are popping up. They state their coupon policy. If your cashier can't seem to get a grip on it and you think you should be training him/her...just take a deep breath and point it out. Also, carry your Target coupon policy with you and the cust. servc. #. If you call the Target Cust. Care # while you are in line you could solve some issues right then.

On the Bissell deal...There were $20 rebate forms in my sunday coupons yesterday so might make the deal even sweeter!!

I did the cereal buy and that last coupon didn't work also. Only difference is I picked out different flavored cereals than the one printed on the coupon. The cashier that I usually go to does not look at the specified cereal. So I bought the Kellogs Special K fruit and yogurt and Raisin bran crunch. I had too many Blueberry flavored from previous sales and coupons.

thanks for the heads up on the bissel rebate! we bought this a few weeks ago, but haven't used it so we still have the box w/UPC code! yay!

amy and the bad cats said...

umm . . . about the bissell rebate . . . the one on sale at target for $199 is model 9200, which is NOT one of the ones qualifying for the $30 MIR.

Tonight I tried to do the Bissell deal and wanted to price match. Best Buy has the exact same carpet cleaner on sale for $169.99. They said I can't price match and get my gift card, but neither customer service nor the manager had any proof of that. They didn't have a copy of the price matching policy and told me to call guest services!

I have emailed them, but hip2save do you know the price matching policy?
If the gift card was supposed to be free with purchase and did not specifically exclude price matching, shouldn't I be able to get it?

If your Target doesn't have Halloween Oreo's can you use the coupon on regular Oreo's?

I bought the Bissell Pet Hair eraser on Sunday - it's the one on sale for $149, plus $25 gift card. Plus I sent in for the $20 rebate that was in this week's inserts. So - $105!! I looked online & it's retail price is $199. I'm excited! My other vacuum died Saturday - so this was PERFECT timing!

I bought my cereal today and used the 3 Target coupon for the cereal as well as the 3 coupons from the Save a lot website and got 4 Special K cereals for 1.98 WOOT!!! Thanks so much for all of the help!

I did the Kellogg's cereal deal this afternoon and paid $3.99 for 4 boxes! That's a fantastic sale! lol

My husband didn't get it. He was fussing that we don't need 4 boxes of cereal! I told him they all have the shelf date till August 2010! lol

I also got the marshmellows and Rolaids. My target didn't have the bakery deal :( They didn't have the batteries and I couldn't find the light bulbs :(

I left Target paying $7.39 for my deals and saved $14.14!

How many target coupons for each item can you print out from the i-iosk at Target? For instance, if I do the Kelloggs deal can I print out all 3 Target coupons from the kiosk?
