Could you do a post, or discussion on this topic: Redeeming register rewards to purchase products that will generate more register rewards.
For instance, I have a Johnson & Johnson Register Rewards, but many items don't list J&J as the manufacturer even though it really is. If I don't know J&J is the maker and I use a my register reward, a new RR won't print. Any advice? (I hope this post makes sense :) Thanks!!

Anon: Do you look on the back of the Product to see who the manu company is? That's how I do it and it always points me in the right direction.

Is anyone else having problems with the Theraflu Q from the Healthy Savings book beeping and not going thru?

Sally said...

I always look on the back of the product to see who is the manu. company if I want to use my RR to produce another RR.

don't see the clabber girl baking powder/cornstarch Q, suggestions on a zipcode?

nicole from ohio said...

the theraflu Q beeped for me yesterday also but the manager had the cashier price adjust the product down. I dont know what the problem is with that.

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately the Clabber Girl coupon says 10-12 oz while the in-ad states 4-6.5 oz

Still learning on this Walgreen shopping lol but..

You can still use an in ad coupon on the soup 4/$5 even if you don't buy 4? Is it just giving you the discount price of ea. and not giving you that discount only if you buy 4? And I still hand over the coupon even if buying 3 right? lol

I'm learning something new everyday lol.

the glade spray my question is that there are 3 coupons can i use all three of then the november booklet the insert from ss and the walgreens ad coupon???

Anonymous said...

I could not use the coupon from the November diabetes booklet for the Lubriderm with any other offer...so it could not be used three times for three lubriderm

Of course, Contrex in my neck of the woods costs $7.99, even though my MQ was $2 for a potential $1 MM. I went there today to get 12 Contrex and, with the $1 overage, haul 24 Arizona Ice Tea free, as it was a B1G1 priced at $0.99. I guess my WAGS picked up and jacked the price up a dollar for the Contrex. Oh well...

Has any1 heard anything more about the new program and what they are going to do with the RR program. I heard it was going to be done by the first of the new year?

Bethany said...

Does the Theraflu have to be a certain brand? I tried it and it didn't print a RR.

Anonymous said...

After I filled in all info for the Lubriderm coupon, it says no prints available. Anyone else get that message?

MamaMataUSMC,
The Theraflu has beeped for me at two different stores on 3 occasions; it always said "coupon not on file" meaning it was not in their system.
I did finally get one manager who price adjusted the items, but the other two just stared at me. I had one cashier say it was because the 12 ct. was pictured, but I pointed out that the second box in the picture was a 6 ct. That isn't the problem.

And I did get Theraflu RR, Bethany. I got the Theraflu in boxes, Severe Cold & Flu and the Cold & Sinus.

I bought two almay one coat mascaras, used the walgreens $4.00 off coupon, bought three packs of Trident and stride gum with an in ad coupon and paid $1.06 for everything!! Thank you so much Collin, I have saved so much after finding your site!!

Gina S. said...

The Theraflu Q from HSB works for me... but the cashier said that it was for last month and that I couldn't have it back. I said no way! She said she would give it back to me one last time. I called Coroprate and they said that I can use it until it expires and I should try a different Walgreens. So I did... 3 others and they didn't beep. However, I'm just going to start getting the Sugar Free instead so I can use the Diabetes and You Q's.

Anonymous said...

I tried to use the Nov. coupon booklet coupons with manufacturer coupons but it didn't go throush because they are ALSO manufacturer coupons (unlike the cut out ads in the weekly circular.)

Anonymous said...

The November Coupon Book has Walgreens coupons-not manufacturer's.. Hope this helps. They should be able to be used along with a Walgreens Q.

Anonymous said...

Annon 2:38 try another Walgreens. I did the Lubriderm deal four times this week in 3 different stores and it worked every time.

hannah21982 said...

I've been able to use the Nov coupon book q's with manu q's. I think the trick is this: Hand over the manu q first and then the wags IVC. Also, you might need a filler to get the IVC to work with a manu q.

Debbie said...

In the 11/1 red plum there is a coupon for 50 cents of 1 pkg of nestle chocolate chips

In the 11/20 All You there is a coupon for $2 off any rimmel mascara, if we still need any after this weeks almay deals... =)

how are you using 3 coupons for 1 product? Like the comtrex?

Jen said...

Is anyone else having problems printing the tylenol cold coupon? It asked for name, address, ect. and then when I clicked "get coupon" there was no coupon...anyone having success????

MamaMataUSMC said...

Was anyone else able to print the Lubridurm Q? It said no more prints available for me. :-(

Anonymous said...

I tried to do the lubriderm deal and when I gave them the coupon from the diabetes book it only took off for one - I asked why and she said it's because it says on the bottom of the coupon good for one offer. It does not say that on other walgreens coupons from the other booklets. Too bad. It still worked out to be a pretty good deal with the rr's

Anonymous said...

I would like to know how you know a RR deal is a monthly deal and not weekly. It would be great to know that at the start of the month.

Kelley said...

Bethany,
Did any other RR's print for you on your trip? Sometimes their machines aren't working right, or sometimes it's some other mix up. You can call the Catalina company directly at 1-888-826-8766 and they will take down the information from your receipt. If it should have printed a RR for you, they'll just mail you one. I never worry too much any more when they don't print, I just wait a few days and call Catalina. I hope that helps.

Thanks for all the coupon links! I went this evening and stocked up on lots of supplies for my holiday baking! I spent $22.26 OOP, and here's what I got:

3 Ocean Spray Cranberry Juices (which have $1 peelies for craisins, trail mix or fresh cranberries on them!)
2 5 lb. bags of Gold Medal flour
4 bags of Nestle toll house morsels

3 jars of Kraft marshmallow creme
5 cans of Libby's Pumpkin
2 tins of Glabber Girl baking powder

3 cans of Carnation evaporated milk
2 packeages of Lindt Truffles
3 gift sacks (16/$1)- as filler

I used the $5 off $25 as well!

Thanks again!

for the Comtrex deal. I was shut down on trying to use a Q from the Nov. book and Healthy book in addition to a manufacturer Q.
They gave me a choice to use either the 2 in store Q's or a combo of 1 in store and 1 manufacture.

Anonymous said...

Rebecca- how did you get the deals TODAY for next weeks' ad. Doesn't it start tomorrow???
Thanks- trying to figure this all out. It's a bit confusing

Anonymous said...

Anon,

I was scratching my head too on that one! lol This is Saturday night!

Maybe the paper gets put out earlier rather than Sunday morning, but even then...the coupons would say 11/8 not 11/7.

Let me in on that deal! I'd love to get it over with the night before lol :)

Anonymous said...

last two anons- most stores change over sat night at some time....my cvs changes at 7pm on sat...i think my walgreens is at 10 or so for the 24 hr store...ask the employees or manager they should know....and if they have the signs out already for the deals they have to honor them. hth

Unknown said...

Anon... yes, the Lubriderm pritnable is dead... they reached the companies predetermined print limit.

Also, anyone else having problems with getting the Tylenol coupons to show. Fill in info, and nothing shows or is emailed. I think that coupon may be dead too.

Tiffany said...

I just tried to do the RR deal for the tylenol and sudafed medicine but you HAVE to spend $20.00 in order for the $10.00 to print out. Since I used coupons it made the total less than $20.00 which is why no RR printed out for me. The mananger explained this to me.

Tiffany

Lauren said...

Tiffany, the managers have a tendency to blame everything on using coupons and that isn't right. All of these deals previously have always been a pre-coupon total when you have to spend a total amount so I'd be really surprised if it was related to the coupons. If you could get them to try ringing them up without the coupons I bet it still wasn't printing ;)

KP said...

I did the Lubridem 6 oz lotion deal yesterday and did get an $8 RR back. I tried again today and it didn't work. I used a $10 RR from the Almay deal, so I didn't think I was using an RR on the same deal. Anyone else have the problem with the Lubriderm? The cashier was nice but since it was not in the weekly ad she coldn't give me the RR. Should I call the catelina number listed Kelley listed above? Thanks for all your help!

Anonymous said...

Is it true that the WAGS computer will allow you to use the $5 off $25 Q first even though you will go under $25 after Q's?

Anonymous said...

Tylenol/Sudafed RR didn't print for me either :(.

Anonymous said...

Did anyone have trouble printing the Tylenol cold and flu coupon from the link Collin provided? It takes you to their page and says to fill out the info to get the coupon, but then it just says thank you and I click on the $2 off and nothing.

Do they send it to you or something? It never said it was being sent so I'm kinda of confused. How did you guys get your coupon?

Mary Beth said...

Where will the $5/$25 coupon be? I've only looked at the online store flyer, but didn't see it in there. Are they in special flyers at the store? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

sometimes they have better deals though also...like in my coupons I have a buy 1 get 1 free glade spray rather then the 75/2 so I get 2 for 99 cents then the walgreens november coupon for 1.00 off 2 glade prducts which makes me get it for free, then with another item can get the 5 rebate!!!

Mary Beth said...

Oops, found the $5/$25 coupon. The first online flyer that came up didn't have it -- and was missing a lot of the other deals you were talking about. But when I searched for the Progresso soup, it brought up the half-sized flyer with the other deals & the coupon. I wish they'd have all of the online flyers come up better -- if it wasn't for this post, I wouldn't have known about any of those deals in advance, to plan. Love this web site!

Another deal I thought worth mentioning...get FREE Aveeno travel kit valued at $9.99 when you buy 3 Aveeno products...

Annon 9:00 It really depends on your Walgreens whether they let you use the $5 off $25 before coupons. Our store will let you use it before coupons. I would just ask the cashier at the cosmetics counter.

I just tried the Breathe Right deal today and it did not print out a RR? Is it a monthly deal or was it from last week?

Went to Walgreens and got the Contour and Breeze monitors free and the $5 rr. Thanks Hip! This site allows me to save money and be able to donate to those in need.

Candice said...

If you want to use the $5/$25 coupon and have 25 after coupons can you use RR to pay the balance? or does it have to be $25 after RR? Thanks!

Anyone know if Walgreens coupon policy is to adjust coupons down. I recently had a $4 manufacturer coupon for an item that was on sale for $3.99 and the cashier told me they are not allowed to adjust the value of the coupon down so she wouldn't accept the coupon.

I'd like to do the glucose monitor deal with the coupon I have, but I know they would have to adjust the coupon down. I would like to know the policy just in case my cashier says she can't adjust the coupon value to accept it.

Anonymous said...

I did the breath right deal and received the $5RR. I did the Tylenol/Sudafed Deal and received $10RR. I also did the Rolaids deal and received $5RR, be careful here, Rolaides Breath right are the same Man. so it won't print the RR. EVERY where here are out of the Bayer Meters!!! Went to 5 stores in the Portland OR area. Bummer.

Sally said...

Anon. 03:19:00 PM
My Wags will not adjust the qs, but you should be able to do the glucose monitor deal because the coupon stated "up to $30", the cashier have to write down 14.99 on the coupon when he/she scan the coupon. I just got one Bayer monitor and bad new is my Wags coupon machine is not ready for this deal (did not print the RR), the manager gave me a "mail-in request", so I have to send the form and original receipt to get my $5RR. Still have 3 more coupons, will try it in other stores.

Anonymous said...

Thank you Sally for answering my question.

This was my first time shopping at Walgreens on a Saturday night. I asked the cashier when I arrived if I could do the following day's deals, and she said no problem. It was great to be able to shop without my kids- and the store was almost empty! Much more relaxing and fun for me. Hope other stores allow this as well. My store will only scan the $5 off $25 after coupons- the computer will beep otherwise (I've tried).

The Carlsens said...

I see some items I need like Windex and frosting but since they require a store coupon and I have manufact. coupons I'd have to buy extra items just to be able to use all my coupons right? Number of coupons = number of items right? Wish all this was at Rite Aid. LOVE rite aid...

any suggestions for me?

Regarding the $5 off $25 coupon - At my WAGS in NJ, I purchase about $28 worth of items. The cashier said I could give the $5 off $25 coupon at any time (before or after the other coupons). I gave it to her first (before any other coupons) and it rang $5 off my total.

Then, I handed her all the manufacturer's coupons and WAGS coupons. As she rang up the manufacturer and WAGS coupons, the balance kept dropping. Once it fell below $25, the computer automatically processed a VOID of the $5 off coupon. After all the manufacturer and WAGS coupons, my balance was $21.50, so I handed her some items worth $3.96. This brought my balance up above $25 again. She re-scanned the $5 off $25 coupon and the $5 came off my order total.

Last Friday I tried to do a RR (Buy 2 Theraflu get a $3RR) - so I bought 2. I used the $3/2 coupon from the paper about 3 or 4 weeks ago. The RR did not print out. So I returned it all.

I was told by the manager that Walgreens will be soon updating all their registers so YOU CANNOT USE MR COUPONS WHEN DOING A RR DEAL ANYMORE!!!!!

No more money makers!!

The manager said a lot of people are going to be upset.

By the way, I live in WA State.

I too had issues with using the Glade coupon from the November book. . . it wouldn't scan and my cashier said it was because I wasn't buying what was on the picture. I'm wondering if I should have handed it over in reverse order from the way I did it. . . .

I ended up paying $1 more than I was expecting but I still walked out with 2 clearasil, 2 covergirl lipslick lipsticks, a wet 'n wild eye shadow trio and lipgloss (was bogo free and I did this as a filler) and 2 glade sprays for $4.00. I used a $5.00 RR to bring my total down even more. Good purchases today.

Will be checking out the location near my work when I get off tomorrow and plan on doing the clearasil again (face wash to last a long time!) and hoping they have a Bayer meter at this store. We'll see!

Anonymous said...

I did the Glade deal too and this is what happened originally I attempted all six at once but the November coupon booklet only took off $1. The manager (who is very nice and very used to me by now) came over and voided it out. Then we did 3 separate transactions. We had to scan the Manufacturer's coupon first $75/2 then the $1 off November coupon booklet (this only took $.50 off, techically it's a glade product but not part of the $1 off promotion, it didn't have a sign like everything else) then finally the $.99 in ad coupon that took off $1.80. If we didn't do it in this order it beeped. With tax I ended up paying $.79 cents for 2 or $.395 cents a piece. Not quite 6 for $.69 but $2.37 for 6 isn't a bad deal either.

Anonymous said...

My walgreens add seems totally different that everyone else. It didn't have the Cover Girl lip deal or the clearasil deal in it. Is this common? I live in NM.

Anonymous said...

Yes I'm afraid to tell you it WILL BEEP. =[ She said it was because the Glade sprays were not shown in the picture! **Very upsetting* She was so rude and then questioned everything I was buying. No I couldn't use 2 coupon s on clearasil either. Also I did the Ocean spray using both coupons to make it free in the right order the wags one STILL beeped she said you got walgreens brand juice not ocean spray. Oh, thats when I really started gettin angry showed it to her and she did overide that one. =[ Ughh. My WAGS shopping has come to an end!

I had $3 off comtrex coupons and I was able to use them with BOTH Walgreens coupons so I got 7 boxes of Comtrex and made $14! I also used coupons on the Zyrtec/Tylenol deal. I got 2 Zyrtec at $9.99 and a Tylenol cold at $4.99. Used 2 $3 off Zyrtec Qs, 1 $2 off Tylenol, and a Walgreen $1 off Tylenol. And it did print the $10 RR. I did it twice.

In regards to the person in NM having a different WG flyer - yep I live in far West Texas and our region has different flyers than most of the rest of the country. You can log onto Walgreens.com and enter your zip and it will pull up your local Walgreens with your ad. I always go online on Sunday morning if my paper isn't here and double check the deals; sometimes they are better and sometimes not as good. If you want, I would be happy to give you my email address and help you work on deal scenarios, or vice versa!

I bought breathe rights earlier today & didn't get the RR. I went ahead & got them b/c I use them, but I never see the monthly RR deals mentioned in the store anywhere, so I'm always unsure about them. Can I call the catalina company & give them my receipt info to get the RR? I wondered after leaving if I could contact the store about it, but how do you prove that you didn't get the RR?

i am confused on how you get your total for instance the: buy 2 vic dayquil or nyquil 2/$9.00=3RR, use 2/$1.50/1 coupon from 11/1 final cost $1.50

$9.00
-3.00
-3.00= $3.00 left to pay, please explain.
