Easy Bakeware and Digital River Scam

Alright, I just wanted to quickly post this so you all know that I have read the concerns regarding the Easy Bakeware issues on the Bath & Body Works post. I've been trying to research Digital River (the company fraudulently charging some of you) and ended up finding quite a bit of complaints. You can read what others have written about them here and here.

I first want to apologize. I try to post deals that I personally do as well, so I want to let you know I've ordered from Easy Bakeware 3 times in the past and have yet to see any fraudulent charges. The third time I ordered it took FOREVER to get my pan and I did call customer service. I felt a little uneasy about the company after receiving my 3rd order, so that's why I haven't posted about them since.

Anyway, if you have ordered from them previously, I would highly recommend checking your credit card statements and making sure there are no charges you're unaware of. If you see anything from Digital River, then I would make sure to give your credit card company a call. They should easily be able to remove these charges. I personally don't think you should try to contact Digital River directly. They sound like such a scam and I'm sure will not be any help.

Again, I am very sorry! I would have never posted this deal if I had known the outcome. It's midnight here and well, I can't sleep because I feel so bad about the situation. I hope you all understand and I hope that any of you who do have fraudulent charges are able to get those charges removed right away. I Got My Free JCPenney Tank Top Today!

Did you get your FREE JCPenney tank top today? I had a few readers email earlier about receiving theirs and about 30 minutes ago my tank was delivered too! FREE is FREE, so I'm not complaining when I say the tank is a tad bit too long... ok, that's an understatement--very long! Is that the style now? As you can see from above... well, the styles not working for me! :) However, this would make a great night shirt or swim suit cover up!

Anyway, I'd love to hear if you got your free tank top too!

Laughing at Myself!

Ok, so this is totally off topic... but hey, it's my blog so I guess I can write what I want, right?

Anyway, I was at the Dentist today with my kiddos and just found it so amusing that every time the dentist would tell one of my kiddos to open up wide... well, guess who's mouth would start opening? Not just my kiddos, but mine! It's like by my mouth opening I somehow thought I was helping! I kept catching myself doing it and it just made me laugh! We moms are too funny!

And another little tidbit that has absolutely nothing to do with saving money! After the dentist I stopped at the bank and went through the drive through to deposit a check. When I received my receipt back I accidentally drove off with the canister thingy (what is it called?). Yes, embarrassing... BUT it sure did make my kids laugh! Of course the person in the car behind me was not too happy and I was a little red in the cheeks when I had to stop my car in the middle of the parking lot and run back to give it to her!

Oh how I love life and the funny little things we all do!

Our Long Vacation has come to an End!

I'm still alive... I promise!

We left Texas yesterday and are on our way back to North Carolina... slowly (with 3 kiddos that's how it has to be)!

I'm hoping to be back in the full swing of deal hunting for all of you by Monday! I will also try and get a few posts up today and throughout the weekend, so stay tuned for those!

I'm headed to Texas today...

Well, as some of you may know, I'm headed to Texas today to visit my hubby's family. They live in a small town up in the panhandle of Texas called Borger. It's about 1 hour outside of Amarillo.

The Drive from North Carolina to Borger is going to take about 20 hours! It will definitely be an interesting road trip with our three little kiddos. We're planning on taking our time getting down there and are hoping to make a few fun stops along the way.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know that I'll still be updating and posting new deals. However, I may be posting a little less then usually and most likely won't have much time to answer questions that people may have in the comment section. I do know, though, that I have some awesome readers that are always more then willing to answer questions, so thank you for saving me much needed time!

Alright... I just had to do a little bragging! Over Memorial Day Weekend AAFES (military shopping site) had some awesome deals on select appliances. Well, I was able to get a sweet deal on a Kenmore Elite 20.6 cu. ft. (it's HUGE!) Upright Freezer shipped FREE to my door and with NO tax! One of the many perks of being in the military!

Anyway, I just had to show it off! I have been wanting a freezer for quite some time and the waiting finally paid off! I am super excited and can't wait to start stockpiling like crazy! Yay!

It's ok... I know I'm a total dork!

Update on My Little Piper Joe!

Well, for any of you that may be curious, here's the update on my daughter:

We took her back this evening and once again explained the situation to the doctor. At first she said we should wait a little longer for the Zyrtec to kick in, but after a little pleading she decided to go ahead and do a chest x-ray.

I'm so glad she ended up doing this because Piper does have walking pneumonia and bronchitis! If you're not familiar with walking pneumonia, it's similar to regular pneumonia, but you're more likely to be able to move around during the day... which is exactly what she was doing.

The doctor prescribed us with Zithromax. She took her first dose tonight and I'm happy to report she's already asleep! Hopefully she'll be able to sleep comfortably throughout the night.

I also wanted to thank you all for the kind words and great advice! Lots of you had mentioned putting Vicks on her feet. Well, guess what she has on her little feet right now?:) Hey, that may be doing the trick more then the Zithromax!

My Unlucky Day!

I've not had the best couple of days... to say the least! You all may have noticed that my postings have been quite sporadic. My Internet and cable went out yesterday due to construction going on by my house. It's still not up, as of yet. Wait, though, it gets worse...

I found a spot in my house early this morning where I was able to access an unsecured network. You may have noticed that I was able to post quite a few deals earlier today and that's why. Well, I was drinking my coffee over the laptop (yes, I realize that is NOT smart) and my kiddos came over to have a little wrestling match on top of me. It ended with coffee being spilt all over you know what and now it' s NOT working at all!

Well, long story short I took it to Best Buy and the good news is that we have a nice warranty on it. We will be able to get it fixed for free and they'll have it back to me within 2 weeks. Now that's the bad news... 2 WEEKS! I just can't be without my beloved laptop for that long. Anyway, my plan is to get a loaner for the time being. I'm hoping to have something I can use by the end of today.

I just want to apologize for not being able to answer questions and emails. If you have emailed me or asked a question in the comments I will try to get back with you as soon as possible. I'm hoping to be back in the swing of things by tomorrow, but we'll see!

I search high and low to provide the best online deals, freebies, high value printable coupons, in-store bargain and everything in between. However, there is one piece of information missing from my blog every single week and I'm sure some of you may know exactly what that is. What's missing- Grocery Store Deals!

And guess what?
I want to list the grocery store deals for all of you! Now of course I can't list every single grocery store... that would take way too much time out of my day and would almost be impossible to do. So that's where you come in. I want you all to leave me a comment below listing the biggest grocery store in you area or a grocery store that you really want me to post weekly deals for. I will then take in to account every single grocery store listed and let you all know which ones I'm picking on Monday, April 27th.

The grocery store deals I end up listing will be awesome! I will make sure to find the highest value coupon match ups and all those unadvertised hidden deals. My blog is about making your life easier when it comes to saving money. I hope this soon to be added feature will help you do just that.

A little something I need to say...

Alright, once again I need to get something off my chest...

This site is NOT a site about debating, arguing or mean comments. I want my site to be upbeat and positive. A place you can count on when you want to save money and make the most of your coupon stash. I'm by NO means perfect and this blog isn't either.

I also want you all to know that I can't please everyone. I try... but it's impossible to do! I also try to always follow the rules when it comes to couponing and saving money. However, there is usually somewhat of a grey area on such topics of store coupon policies, using coupons correctly, buying the correct products and the list goes on. Like I said above, I'm not PERFECT and definitely don't know everything there is to know about coupons.

Lots of deals I post on here will be YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) type situations. Meaning that the deal may work for one person, but may not for another. This happens a lot when I post deals about buy one get one free sales and using 2 coupons. Some cashiers will allow it, some won't. You can read my thoughts on this issue here.

I'm sorry for not always being accurate with the deals I post. I do make mistakes all the time and can't guarantee that I won't in the future. What I can guarantee is that I WILL try to post the very best deals for all of you and help each of you SAVE money. I mean, that is what my site's about, isn't it?

Lets all try to keep things upbeat. I think it's great when we try to work as a team and not against one another. One example is when we "Coupon Hunt" on OldNavyWeekly.com. I had so much fun on those nights and it wasn't just because of the high value coupons... it was actually because of all the great comments posted and the way we were helping one another out.

To sum it up, I'm a young sensitive mom trying to pinch my pennies and help all of you do the same. You can read more about my family and I here. Now lets get back to our regularly scheduled program!

We're Moving!

As some of you may already know, my hubby is in the Marines. We live on a huge military base (Camp Lejeune) in North Carolina. They are in the process of building all new base housing and the great news is that our brand new house is finished! YAY!

I'm super exited because we've been living in a house that is literally falling apart... I know, I know... I'm not trying to complain, but to say the least it's pretty bad! Our new house just feels so clean and nice! I can't wait to start moving in.

One of the best perks about being in the military is that were able to have movers (that the military pays for) come in our home, box up all our items and move us! I'm going to feel a little spoiled tomorrow when I'm outside with my kids enjoying the weather... knowing there will be movers inside boxing up my all my stuff!

This is the planned schedule:

Monday:
Get everything boxed and packed. I should still be able to access the Internet, but I will not be able to post nearly as much as I normally do!:(

Tuesday:
Moving all our items into our new home! YAY! It will be very chaotic... especially dealing with the kiddos, the movers, where I want my furniture, boxes to go and so on! I have a special guest post planned, but will not be able to post anything else.

Wednesday:
Finally moved in (hopefully)! I will be unpacking most of the day. I should have the Internet back up in the afternoon, but no guarantees. However, I do have another guest post planned!

Thursday:
I'm hoping to be back in full swing!

I've received some of the nicest comments and emails, filled with such encouraging words. When your in the military it becomes pretty easy to feel all alone and isolated. I definitely dealt with the "poor me" syndrome... not anymore, though! Now I feel like I have so many friends from all over the United States. It really is pretty amazing!

Using 2 Coupons on a Buy one get one Free Sale

Alright, I have received various emails and comments on this topic and though it would be best to have a *nice* discussion about this issue. The key word is *nice*!

Can you use two manufacturer (money off) coupons on a buy one get one free sale?
In my opinion YES! Now this is just my opinion and you don 't have to agree with it.

The reason I feel this way is because a stores sale has nothing to do with a manufacturer coupon. These are 2 separate ways to get a discount and when combined you can save quite a bit. As couponers, that's what we do. We wait for a store sale and combine it with a manufacturers coupon to snag a sweet deal! With that being said using 2 coupons on a buy one get one free sale (in my opinion) is the same as using coupons with any other in-store sale.

Some stores will also try to stop you from using a coupon on each item when their offering a buy one get one free sale. Most store coupon policies state that you CAN use a coupon on each item, so in my opinion them not allowing you to use both coupons is ridiculous. What some cashiers don't realize is that either way you pay for the 2 products (cash or coupons) they'll be getting the same amount back. They will be getting the cash right then or the coupons once they mail them in for redemption, plus by sending in the 2 coupons they will also be making an .08 handling fee on each one...hmmm... I think I'd rather choose the manufacturer coupons!

When a store is having a buy one get one free sale it's really more of a great advertsing tool. People think wow, I am getting something free. Really, though, a buy one get one free sale is a 50% off sale, but actually it's not as great. With a 50% off sale you ONLY have to purchase one product, with a bogo sale, though, you're forced to purchase two. This brings me to my next point. If two items were 50% you would be able to use a manufacturer coupon on each of them, so why is there such an issue with doing this on a buy one get one free sale?

A manufacturer coupon states one item per purchase. If you purchase two items you CAN use two coupons and you are purchasing two items in a buy one get one free sale. You are purchasing two at 50% off the retail price. No matter how they show up on your receipt that is exactly what you're doing.

When a manufacturer puts out a high value coupon and there are lots of stores having sales on this product, then that means one thing: The manufacturer wants you to GO buy their product. Even if you snag the product for FREE- they still want you to try it. If you like it, then that means cash in their pockets, since you'll probably be purchasing this item again, again and again. That's the whole point of these coupon type promotions-To get you to try products you never would have otherwise.

Well, I could probably make a few more points, but I think I'll stop there. I'd love to hear your opinion on this topic? Do you agree or disagree?

One Important Issue...

Alright, I have got to get this off my chest.

First off, I want to say that I work so hard on my blog and am constantly devoting lots of time and energy researching all the best deals and coupons to post for all of you. I am so exited to have so many fantastic loyal readers. It's such an awesome feeling to know I am helping others save money... so thank you!

I have been very upset lately. It could be that time of the month or possibly because I'm a bit sensitive, but nonetheless I needed to post this. In my personal opinion it is not alright to fill up empty spaces on your blog by copying and pasting someone else's posts! Even if you credit the source-- it is still NOT right under any circumstances (unless you have written permission from the author). Developing posts and content takes lots of time, energy and creativity. To just copy and paste someone else's post is really hurtful and well, pretty disrespectful. I'm not posting this to sound mean. I do, however, want to make it clear that I personally do not approve of others taking posts and placing them on their blog.

If you have found a post on another persons blog that inspires you or seems helpful, then by all means post those ideas on your own blog. Although, you'll need to do this in YOUR OWN WORDS and credit the source when you're done.
